BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
This ship is the pride and joy of the Crossroads Republic Armed Forces fleet. Those who crew and fly off of this ship are the best of the best of CRAF's naval crews, highly-trained and politically reliable. To be assigned to this ship it is a dream come true for a member of the fleet. The division of Marines aboard this ship are also at the same level as Tier-3 Special Operations divisions, meaning that a boarding action that somehow manages to overpower the ship's internal defense turrets and droids will be going to toe-to-toe with elite shock infantry. The ship itself is also exceedingly dangerous to fight against for others of its size class, particularly at range when its plethora of proton cannon turrets are able to outrange traditional turbolaser turrets, and by sheer volume of fire this ship's weapons can poke lots of holes into large ships very quickly, especially seeing as it has 288 heavy barrels. Its fighter complement is also impressive, capable of rapid scramble and rapid recovery thanks to segmented and spacious hangars which were designed to improve upon its now-scrapped predecessor. Every aspect of this ship was built with battle experience from their extensive war gaming exercises.
The ship is almost always on active or able to quickly depart for active duty due to the fact it has three crews: an Alpha, a Bravo, and a Charlie crew. While one crew is actually on the ship on active patrol another is on active work-up training for the ship's next cruise, and the last crew is on a stand-down training period after having been the last crew to be on board on active duty. This means that if the crew suffers extensive combat losses there are numerous trained and qualified personnel of high quality ready to take their place. The same goes for their 420 starfighters, bombers, and dropships and their pilots, they are divided into three combat air groups, and cycle with their designated crews or are able to cycle out to the ship in the event of heavy losses. This prized ship is therefore what will break before the crew breaks, and it will take a lot before the Crucible breaks.
