"We'll take her from here, Master Noble," one of the nurses told Kahlil after he had rushed an almost mortally wounded Valery to the closest Alliance medical facility, which was right at the border of Alliance territory. But that wasn't everything he had done. Valery's life depended on this treatment, and so he had reached out to the only two healers he'd trust to take care of her. One a former Padawan who was like a daughter to her, the other her closest friend, and both of them among the best Healers in the Galaxy.

To Valery, who was being rushed through hallways on a hovering medical bed, it wasn't easy to be separated from her husband again. Throughout her time in captivity, she wasn't able to feel him the way she usually could at all, and finally being in his presence again had been comforting. But she knew deep down that once everything was okay, that he'd be allowed to join her again.

"Glass cuts and bruises, head trauma and a swollen eye, bruised and broken ribs, deep lacerations and burns all over her back from a shock whip, a hole in the palm of her hand from a sharp weapon that went all the way through..." the doctor frowned as he looked at the results from the bio-scan, and turned his eyes to the Jedi Master on the medical bed. She was in critical condition and being kept alive by medical equipment and her own will to fight alone. But he had only listed the physical injuries at this point.

Something else had happened to her that made his readings of her brain unlike anything he had ever seen before. What had happened? This was beyond his understanding, but the other Master Noble had requested Amani Serys Amani Serys and Iris Arani Iris Arani to travel here as quickly as they could. So while they worked as hard as possible to keep Valery stable, they all hoped for the Jedi Healers to arrive soon.

She'd know she was missing, and she knew it wasn't like the last time. The most Iris could do was take care of Valery's little ones while she let the others find her. They had to find her. And they did. The alert came, and with it, more trouble. Valery was found, but her condition was hardly stable. And they requested both Amani and her. Something was drastically wrong, and likely with the Force around her. She didn't hesitate to come running.

But where a younger her would've been frantic, the moment she stepped through the door she raised a hand to call over the datapad with the current information. All the notation and information to catch her up to speed at least.

"I need everything that happened, the state she was found in, and whatever might have been used on her."

Valery was finally back, although not how anyone would've liked. She was in critical condition, forcing her to be treated at the nearest possible hospital— One on the edge of Alliance space— lest they risk her death mid-transit back to the Core. Hopefully it wasn't already too late. But they had two of the best healers possible on the case, both of whom knew Valery well.

Amani studied each injury with disbelief as the other doctor listed them off. It was shocking that all of this could have happened to her of all people. But the most important thing right now was just helping as best as they could, "Come on, we need to get her stablized," She turned and snapped at the doctor, "Give me that scan. Any sign of a collapsed lung? Brain hemorrhaging?" She grabbed the readings for a closer look. Whatever might prove an immediate danger needed to be dealt with, based on what they had already listed off. Amani already saved the Sword of the Jedi once. She'd do it again.

The doctor looked between Amani and Iris with a deep frown, as they asked their questions, and offered the Chief Healer the scan she needed. It showed in great detail what had happened — the head trauma and brain hemorrhage, the cuts and bruises all over her body from the actual crash, the blood loss and so much more.

"Master Noble was shot down and crashed several days ago, which caused the bruised ribs and various cleaner cuts. Glass from within the cockpit most likely. She managed to escape the ship, but was caught outside, and a spear of some kind was forced through her hand. She then was taken captive, and bound to the ceiling by her wrists," he said, and one look at Valery on the bed made it clear how painful it must have been to have all her weight hanging on her wrists.

"In that position, she was struck many times by a shock whip across her back, but also beaten. Ribs have been broken but not pierced her lungs or other organs, or she would have already been dead. The head injuries have caused internal bleeding, and so have other hits she took."

"The internal bleeding should likely be our focus, and addressing the loss of blood. I leave it to your expertise, however." He then paused for a moment and looked at Valery again.

"There also seems to be something wrong with her mind, but we're not sure what exactly happened yet. She isn't able to speak right now, but it caused some kind of trauma. Mental torture I don't think any medical procedure can heal. Perhaps you, as Jedi, are able to help her with it."

That was a lot of damage.

Iris took a breath, calmed her mind. The physical was easy to handle. Here, with so many doctors, with Amani, they'd be able to bring Valery back to the point from before all this terribleness happened. But the mind, that wasn't something so easily healed. Between all the people here, she was probably the best suited for that. She nodded once before taking a seat near Valery, closed her eyes, then reached through the colors to find Valery's own. Find her mind, under all the chaos that was surely there.

Amani furrowed her brow. The damage was extensive. It was in many ways a miracle that Valery was alive at all. A punctured lung was out of the question, thankfully, but they weren't free of problems yet. Bleeding in the brain needed to be dealt with immediately, or it could prove just as lethal, "Yeah. Yeah, she needs blood, as soon as you can get it to me. I'll deal with the head trauma," Whatever was wrong with her mind was a whole other problem. Amani didn't want to pry too much without knowing that Val would be at least physically stable, but Iris was there to help balance things out.

While she began to search through the Force, Amani lent her strength to matters more tangible. And given her aptitude, they could begin to treat the Sword much more quickly. Being Chief Healer wasn't just a title, after all. It meant something. Amani gently laid a hand on Valery's forehead, and poured the restorative energies of the Force into her. More precise than a surgeon's tool, the Force could seek out the subtlest of ruptures under an expert guiding presence, and treat them with supernatural efficiency. But such a potent display was not simple, even for Amani. She maintained an ironclad focus. It was a draining process on the user, and if she faltered, it could leave her unable to help further, and leave Valery still in trouble.

"I'll get the blood ready, and leave you two to it," the doctor said before rushing out to get the supplies they needed. Luckily, Valery's blood type was documented, so all they needed to do was access her files and figure it out. From there, blood was collected and all medical equipment was relocated to her room. The Alliance knew of her importance to the Jedi and people, so it was with great haste and precision that they worked.

Meanwhile, the two Jedi began the healing process.

Iris Arani Iris Arani was the first to tap into the Force, not heal her body but to find her mind through chaos and pain. This was no easy process, and the deeper she reached, the more she discovered about what happened to her former Master. It began with faint cries for help, but gradually turned into the dying screams of the Dizonite people. Among their screams, however, was another voice. A familiar one.

Crying for it to stop, for someone to help her.

At the same time, Amani's hand settled against Valery's head, and through her connection to the Force, energy began to flow into the woman's head. It slowly started patching up what Valery's suppressed Self-healing could not fix, and with every passing second, Valery's body seemed to relax while Amani was subjected to more and more strain. To heal the internal bleeding was a difficult and precise task, but her body had so many more injuries.

How much would she be able to endure?

<We're here now.>

Outwardly, Iris's brow twitched. There was so much pain in the colors here. So much bleakness that dyed the Force in greys. Leached the colors away deeper in. How many people would be able to see what actually happened? For Valery's sake, she hoped none would. Iris knew just what it felt like to be seen as fragile or broken after everything that happened to her, but it was nothing like this.

<I'm here now, Master. It's time to fight back. Tell me you're there, that you can hear me. I'll help you get free, but I need you to fight.>

The damage was even more extensive than Amani realized. Her vitality gradually began to strain as it was effectively transferred to Valery instead. The progress was noticeable, but she couldn't do this forever. Eventually, Amani let her hand slip from Valery's head, only once she was certain the critical dangers were subdued. The rest could be dealt with in a way that wouldn't make the healer pass out.

Amani took only a moment to catch her breath, and looked over to Iris. She reached out a hand, and laid it on her shoulder, trying to join the mental meld herself, <Tell me you found something?> Her voice crept in.

A voice.

Through the screams, the cries for pain and within the darkness of her mind, Valery heard a familiar voice calling out to her. It cut through everything, and for just a few seconds, Iris and Amani would both feel Valery reaching out to them. She was down there, looking for them, but she struggled reaching them the way they reached her "Please..." her voice cried, but she couldn't make it all the way back, and was soon interrupted by footsteps and another voice.

"Valery Noble. What a surprise. You remember me?"

Every muscle in Valery's body tensed, and she began to twitch and turn as if she was living through the worst nightmare imaginable. Her readings were suddenly going off the charts, and with how injured she still was, it formed an immediate threat for her safety. Something needed to be done, and fast.

"Where are you?"

Valery fell down to her knees and brought her hands up to her head, as that evil voice continued to talk to her, forcing her to relive every second of what she went through over and over again. Then there were the screams... they just didn't stop! Valery screamed again and gritted her teeth right after.

<I'm here now, Master. It's time to fight back. Tell me you're there, that you can hear me. I'll help you get free, but I need you to fight.>

"Iris?" Valery's breathing steadied a little, and as she focused, she felt not just her former Padawan, but her close friend as well. She wasn't alone anymore?

"I can't see or hear you. Where are you?"

Iris_Sig.png

<I have. She's.. Trapped. There's-> She physically winced. The memory, the screams. They colored the Force violent. It was the only word she could think of to describe the color she saw. A deep frown settled on her lips, but she didn't retreat from Valery's mind. Rather, she helped to guide Amani to it. Bring the three of them together by matching the colors she could.

<We're here, Master. Amani and I both. You're not in that room anymore. You're on Coruscant. You have to wake up. Break free.>

Valery Noble Valery Noble | Amani Serys Amani Serys

Amani dared to venture further into Valery's mind, as Iris had. Immediately she was struck by the nightmarish wails of a dead people. An immediate, splitting headache formed in response, <Why…?>

The mirialan shook it off, grounding herself with the presences of both Valery and Iris. They had found her, buried beneath the trauma, <We're here. You're safe now. Whatever this is, it's all in your head.>

The voices grew louder, and kept echoing through her mind until they were finally able to cut through the memories that were haunting her. Iris, Amani — she'd always recognize their voices, and the way they felt to her. So as they told her that she was safe, for just a moment, Valery seemed to calm down. The screams of agony in her mind silenced to a void, and all three of them began to drift away.

In the real world, Valery's eyes suddenly snapped open while the two other Jedi were forced out of her mind, and her heart rate shot up through the roof. Her muscles tensed, several vials in the room burst under unintentional use of the Force, and she began to shakily move, as if she was trying to fight her way out of her restraints all over again.

A fight or flight reaction, and anybody who knew her would understand what she'd choose.
