ABOUT CRIMSON DAWN​

The Crimson Dawn is a crime syndicate. Through an affiliation of criminally-inclined sentients and groups, the organization is committed engaging in planned and sustained criminal activities. These range in type and severity; from common theft, bribery, information brokering and extortion, to smuggling, exotic trafficking, assassinations and political maneuvering. The Crimson Dawn is not limited to just those ventures, and even has intelligence networks, real estate holdings and legitimate business ownerships to assist in its enterprises.

What does the Crimson Dawn want? Power, wealth, influence. At several points in the last few centuries, the organization had grown to encapsulate an impressive grasp in many facets of the galaxy, and it is the aim to bring the syndicate to that level again.

One important thing to remember is that the Crimson Dawn is ruthless. That is not to say they aren't subtle or capable of manipulation behind the scenes, as they very much are, but they will not turn away from a potential profit under any circumstance. The leadership are determined to expand and claim territory, and have little care for morals or scruples in that pursuit.

This organization is not for the feint of heart.

HOW TO JOIN​

Before you join, there are several simple rules that you must agree to prior, which are:

ONE. Crimson Dawn is a group founded on dedication and loyalty. Status and responsibilities are granted based on a combination of effort, willingness, and attitude. And while rank defines a member's status, there are still expectations for respect to all members.​

TWO. Crimson Dawn acts as one entity, or not at all. You are free to pursue your own enterprises, but do not use Crimson Dawn resources for personal gain. Organization resources for organization gains.​

THREE. All members (of any rank) may be part of any other organizations, however you must maintain loyalty and discretion, and not discuss the business of Crimson Dawn outside Crimson Dawn.​

FOUR. What you claim for yourself, outside Crimson Dawn, are your own. But what you bring in for the organization - possessions and resources - are for all to share. Do not confuse the two.​

FIVE. All members can refer others to join Crimson Dawn. But, your referral, your responsibility - so be mindful of who you back up for membership.​

There are two main methods to get involved with Crimson Dawn:

1. Through centralized enterprises, where varying crime bosses or leaders join a mutual effort to benefit from shared resources. This typically results in those bosses being appointed as Underbosses and Lieutenants. Such a membership to the Crimson Dawn is through invitation or referral, as it holds a high position within the organization, and trust is not a commodity relied on in the criminal underworld.

2. Low rank recruitment. You begin as a soldier or Enforcer (unless otherwise arranged), and you work your way up through the Crimson Dawn ranks. In time, and with dedication to the organization, you may very well find a position as a Lieutenant or even an Underboss. And as you climb the syndicate ladder, so does your wages and resources increase, so you can become a self-sustained criminal leader in your own right - and further push the expansion and reach of Crimson Dawn.

There remain other methods, of course, but those are specific circumstances for individuals.

  The Crimson Dawn is ruled by a single Crime Lord (or Crime Lady), and working alongside the Underbosses, they collectively ensure that the syndicate maintains an economically strategic and profitably guided direction with its many ventures. Both legal and illegal activities, the networks and connections, and expansions and/or investments are decided by this group through vote, which are enacted by the organization leader.
  
  The member that holds this position is final voice on all decisions in Crimson Dawn.

  The Crimson Dawn Underbosses are reputable individuals of the criminal element of their own making, some with entire sectors and territories to their name. They have agreed to allocate resources and efforts, for a mutual benefit as a whole in the organization, but also remain in charge of their own enterprises. All Underbosses are able to be called on to vote on important organization decisions, and most usually employ Lieutenants as subordinates to assist in their efforts. When conducting official Crimson Dawn business, they are expected to work for the benefit of the whole, though private dealings remain their own interest.
  
  The members of this rank handle large-scale operations and answer only to the Ruling Council as a whole.

  The Crimson Dawn Lieutenants work either directly for - or alongside - the Underbosses. Members of this rank are agents, gang leaders and trusted sentients in positions of proven responsibility. They ensure that the activities and tasks given by their Underboss (if they have one) are completed to an exacting standard, while maintaining operation command of those beneath them in rank. The Lieutenants are expected to maintain discipline and bring complications to the attention of their Underboss or Crime Lord. As is standard, an Lieutenant's private dealings remain their own interest.
  
  The members of this rank oversee multiple groups performing daily operations and activities, including specifically appointed operations from their Underboss (if they have one).

  The Crimson Dawn Enforcers are the recognized soldiers and agents for the organization. They are trusted by their bosses, the Underbosses and Lieutenants, and have proven highly capable and able to complete tasks given to them. Typically Enforcers lead small groups, oversee the immediate jobs, and handle problems outlined by their leaders. For an Enforcers dedication, they are in consideration to be promoted to Lieutenants within Crimson Dawn. All PCs are considered Enforcer rank, unless otherwise arranged.
  
  The members of this rank handle daily operations and activities, including specifically appointed operations from their superiors.

  The Crimson Dawn Soldiers are the rank and file for the organization. Low level thugs, gangsters, those out to prove they have what it takes to rise up through the organization. Unlike Enforcers, the soldiers need to prove they are able to complete tasks given to them, while also proving dedication to Crimson Dawn. Soldiers work under Enforcers and do as they're told, sometimes without knowing the why. Those that do prove themselves, they are in consideration to be promoted to Enforcers within Crimson Dawn. NPCs are considered Soldier rank (unless otherwise stated), and PCs can start at this rank if they choose to.
