Private Crazy Rich Jedi

Xian giggled, giving Noriko a playful elbow as she leaned into the mirror, her face lighting up with a mixture of mischief and determination.

"Alright, alright," she said, grinning. "I see… me! I see a Jedi padawan who's going to kick butt, protect people, and maybe occasionally break a few rules because, well, adventure! And… I see someone who's got a big family and a granddaughter who thinks I'm awesome—which, obviously, I am." She puffed her chest slightly, mimicking Noriko's gesture with a mock-serious nod.

"And… my name? Nah, Xiao's fine. I mean, it's me. Changing it wouldn't make me any cooler than I already am!" She elbowed Noriko again, this time with an extra wink. "But if it gets you to stop bossing me around, maybe I could try Ike… just kidding! Xiao forever."

Her laughter bubbled through the room, a little wild, a little triumphant, the kind of sound that carried hope and stubbornness all in one.

"Never... I will never stop bossing you around cause as the senior jedi in the pair of us it is my duty to make sure you understand the chain of command." She looked at her wrapping aan arm around her shoulder. "It is the chain over there in the corner I get with a collar, put on your neck aand start dragging you around with me to learn. Next lesson now that we have your saber, now that we have your robes aand family lines is to get you able to do some cool force powers. I am thinking we teach you how to put all that fire and venom in your attitude with a fireball belch. Let you be aable to fire off some pyro with your mouth."

Xian laughed, shaking her head, eyes sparkling. "A fireball belch? I don't even know where to start with that. Last time I tried, I almost singed my own sleeve."

She nudged her shoulder against the senior Jedi's, smirking. "But fine, I'll try—if I'm going to learn, I want it to look impressive. No accidental scorch marks, no burning down the training hall. Bad guys only, got it?"

She tilted her head, grinning. "And when I do finally get it right, I expect full applause. It's only fair—I'm doing all the dangerous, flashy stuff here."

She gave a look with a raised eyebrow. "Fine fine all of the applause." She said it and was going to the bed. "Now sleep oh great one there will be plenty of bad guys of us to find out in the galaxy tomorrow." She spoke while going to the one bed and laying down. "NOw get the lights and sleep... and don't fart this room is small, I have delicate sensibilities and you eat everything." She didn't give a chance wrapping her ears and eyes in a small piece of cloth to mirror a night mask while getting under the covers with her head going to her pillow while she laid there and couldn't really block out the sounds but she spoke. "La la la I can't hear you." She said it mostly on the odds that Xian spoke with a comeback which she liked to do.

Xian smirked faintly at her dramatics, shaking her head as she followed behind, the faint glow of the room catching the edges of her features.

"All right, all right," she said, voice teasing but soft, "don't make it sound like I'm a menace to your delicate sensibilities." She kicked off her boots quietly, letting the small cloth wrap her eyes in a makeshift mask, mirroring her own night routine.

Sliding under the covers beside her, she let out a soft sigh, the fabric cool against her skin. "La la la," Xian sang back quietly, just enough to make her grin. "Can't hear you either."

Her hand found a comfortable spot under the blankets, resting near the edge of the bed but not intruding. The room fell into a hush, broken only by the faint hum of the lights and the slow rhythm of two people settling into sleep. Xian let herself sink into it—the quiet companionship as comforting as the covers themselves—and, for the first time that night, she let her thoughts drift free of the day's worries.

"Sleep," she whispered finally, though the words were more for herself than anyone else.

Sleep was welcomed, her body stretching out under the covers and onto the large bed. The night was nice though much better then the bunks of the ship even if she did have a nice bedding set up in her own ship. Here at least she could stretch herself outwards when the morning came and she rose with the sun surprised it had been a good enough sleep with less time then she had thought she would need. Benefits of the force after all. She rolled out of the bed and stretched as she felt her spine and neck go pop pop pop. TUrning to look at Xian asleep while she went slipping on some shoes as she went out of the room and began running. Physical fitness being important before the morning and she could work up an appetite for the food. Her breathing evening out while she passed many of the taller horselords and their longma.

Xian stirred slightly beneath the covers at the faint sound of movement, one eye fluttering open just enough to catch a glimpse of the room's light before letting herself sink back into the softness. The Force nudged at her awareness, gentle and insistent, letting her know someone was moving, alive, present.

A small smile tugged at her lips as she listened to the rhythmic sound of footsteps fading down the corridor. Even in sleep, she felt the motion, the pulse of life outside her own stillness, and it made her chest tighten with that strange mix of admiration and curiosity that had been growing lately.

She rolled onto her side, eyes closing again, letting the warmth of the bed and the faint scent of morning drift in through the window. Run if you must, she thought softly, letting the Force carry the quiet echo of movement back to her. But don't forget—there's someone here waiting when you return.

Even in the calm of sleep, she felt tethered to the world outside the covers, to the presence of the one who moved through it with her, and it was enough to steady her pulse, ease her mind, and make her dreams just a little brighter.

Noriko felt the flutter and brush of the force for a moment as she was running... well jogging. She didn't need to go all out she just needed to enjoy herself as she was watching several of the massive Longma running in a circular track. The massive trainers were covered in their multicolored feather cloaks in the morning as she stopped there. A small alcove she could stretch in and catch a breath without stopping completely. She got some looks and one offered her water as she took a drink and the chilled water was refreshing as she woke up. Taking off again when she moved towards the track with the Longma where she could follow them while they were ran. NOriko laughed to herself as she went with a look over at more of the open fields around them.

The soft calm of Xian's morning didn't last long. A light tapping at the door heralded the arrival of breakfast—a tray laden with steaming bowls of porridge, fresh fruit, and small pastries. The scent of warm bread and sweet fruit wafted through the room, mingling with the sunlight that had begun to pool on the floor.

A cheerful voice called from the doorway. "Xian! Get up, you're not going to eat it all in bed, are you?"

Before she could answer, a gentle nudge accompanied the words as someone—probably one of the attendants—tugged at the covers. "Come on, the morning won't wait, and neither will your breakfast."

Xian groaned softly, stretching reluctantly as she swung her legs out of the bed. The tray sat invitingly on the bedside table, steam curling into the air, promising warmth and a little indulgence. Despite herself, a small smile tugged at her lips. Fine, she thought, I'll get up. But just for the food.

With a soft sigh, she swung her feet onto the floor, padded to the edge of the bed, and picked up a piece of warm bread, letting the morning sunlight catch the edges of her hair as she finally surrendered to the day.

Norriko was still running and she managed to get back tot he room as the scent of food was there... the enjoyable part of it was that she had worked up the hunger with a nod of her head going in. She had a sheen of sweat but she had a smile on her face with a nod of her head. "Ah good you are awake." She said it as she stood there and stretched for a moment. Bringing a leg up and behind her head as she balanced with the sound of bones popping. Noriko took a piece of food as she set it in her mouth with a smile but was still stretching herself out. She finally sat down for a moment to get a drink with a small look at Xian before she was offering a small grin. "Sleep well?"

Xian stirred at the sound of Noriko's voice, the warmth of the morning light spilling across the room catching the soft edge of her hair. She stretched slightly beneath the covers, blinking away the last tendrils of sleep as she gave a small, tired smile.

"Mm… better than I expected," she murmured, letting herself shift up onto her elbows. Her movements were slow at first, savoring the quiet after the night's rest. The scent of the food drew her fully awake, and she finally swung her legs over the side of the bed, rubbing at her shoulders.

"I didn't realize how much I needed that," she admitted softly, glancing at Noriko with a faint, appreciative nod. "Thank you… for getting breakfast ready." Her voice carried the faint lilt of a morning still caught between sleep and wakefulness, and she reached for a small piece of the food, tasting it and letting a brief smile form.

"It smells amazing… and I'm starving," Xian added, settling in with a more genuine ease now, the day beginning to feel a little lighter with the simple comfort of food and companionship.

"Well legally I am like required to feed you and make sure you grow up strong that is why we need to make sure your get all of the vitamins." She said it with a grin though and ate some more food. "So eat up and then you are going for a five no we should do ten mile run... something to warm us up for the day you know." She said it with a smile on her face while she was checking on parts of it.... the food was delicious ass well as the fruits when she grabbed a few. THen she walked over by XIan with a look aat her. "Plus as the newest member of the family we have to go over aall of the important family history starting from way back when we were all still on AAtrisia and going up to now when the clan is on like thirty different worlds."

Xian leaned back in her chair, black eyes narrowing slightly as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Ten miles?" she said flatly, her grin teasing but defiant. "Legally or not, I am not running ten miles before breakfast. You're cute, Noriko, but I like my legs attached to me, thanks."

She picked up a piece of fruit, letting the morning sunlight catch on its surface as she bit into it with deliberate calm. "I will eat," she added, her tone firm but playful, "because you clearly care too much to let me starve. But the running part? Nope. Not happening."

Her gaze softened a fraction as she watched Noriko flit around the room, tending to the food and checking the spreads. "And… yes, family history sounds fascinating, I guess. But maybe we can start after breakfast?" She gestured at the plate in front of her. "Fuel first. Education second. Compulsory cardio… permanently denied."

A small, mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "You do know I'll just sit here and stare at you while you eat and talk about all the crazy things our ancestors did, right?"

Even as she refused the run, there was warmth in the way she leaned slightly forward, taking in the room, the food, and Noriko's energetic presence. Xian might resist some of the exercise, but she wasn't about to resist the calm, human comfort of this shared morning.

She looked at her and had a look of challenge. "Yes I know you will sit there which is why I decided the first thing to teach you about our family history is the long and complicated measures we generally take to make sure we are ready for paramours and lovers. We will start with grooming and oils that our ancestors started doing and personal care." She had a look while eating some more of the food while she stood there with a raised eyebrow." I have all day after all, my duties were to teach you and I can wait to do that.. so eat up cause you are going to run either willingly or away from me teaching you all about how to trim the hair on the back of your legs and butt properly so no one dislikes it."

Xian leaned back in her chair, arms crossed, a mischievous gleam in her black eyes. "Ugh, Noriko, do we really have to start with… that?" she groaned, gesturing vaguely toward the table where Noriko had laid out the oils and brushes. "I mean, I get it, personal care is important and all, but—can't we… skip to the fun parts? Or at least the parts where I don't have to touch… everything?"

She took a bite of fruit, trying to look nonchalant, but the raised eyebrow Noriko shot her made her wince. "Fine, fine," she muttered, setting the fruit down, "but I refuse to run ten miles first. That's insane. My legs are already… functioning adequately, thank you very much."

Xian leaned back further, smirking despite herself. "How about a compromise? I sit here, learn with my eyes, maybe ask a few questions, and we skip the running. That sounds reasonable, right?"

She nodded listening making sure that Xian didn't feel ignored..she could compromise. "YOu know that might be reasonable if I wasn't your jedi master padawan, we are supposed to be moving and we want you getting out that excess energy." She said it while waiting there though when she looked at the table and then at Xian. "But maybe ten miles is not good. I'll tell you what.. I will compromise but you aren't going to get to sit here. If we are going to be doing this and we are going to be doing this.. you are going to want to be moving.. it will keep the mind distracted so you aren't thinking about the unseen ingrown hairs you have and need to correct."

Xian wrinkled her nose and let out a low, exasperated groan, tossing her fork down on her plate with mock indignation. "Out of sight, out of mind, Noriko," she said, waving a hand dramatically. "If they're not bothering me, why on Atrisia would I need to think about them now? My Jedi training is already keeping my focus sharp enough without adding invisible hair battles to the mix."

She leaned back slightly in her chair, black eyes narrowing in playful defiance, but there was a spark of a grin on her lips. "You want me moving? Fine. But you're not making me run ten miles on an empty stomach. That's cruel and unusual punishment, Master Jedi."

She pointed at the table as if making a legal argument. "I'll move. I'll even do a few circuits. But first… breakfast stays. The fruit. The pastries. The—everything. Then we negotiate mileage."

Her gaze flicked back to Noriko, challenging but light. "And seriously, those ingrown hairs? They're out of sight. And until someone else sees them, they are out of mind."

She looked at her and moved only closer to use her height... they were both nearly the same size so the effect wasn't there nor was it a real threat. "Eat up come on, we'll see about negotiating length padawan we'll see if you don't draw this out." She said it but had a grin on her face when she moved back to go and use the fresher for the moment speaking before closing the door."And out of sight out of mind doesn't always work, now you are going to be thinking about them just there waiting below the surface waiting forever waiting and only discover them when they are grey." She said it with a laugh as the door closed so she could get ready herself.

Xian squinted after her, a look halfway between disbelief and amusement flickering across her face. "You're seriously insane," she muttered, though her voice carried enough humor to take the edge off. She grabbed another bite of food — slowly, deliberately — just to make a point.

"Negotiate all you want, I'm still not running ten miles," she called out toward the fresher, raising her voice just enough to be heard through the door. "Or five. Or probably even one, honestly. I'm allergic to unnecessary suffering."

She leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs with exaggerated defiance as she picked at a piece of fruit. "And thanks for that lovely image," she added under her breath. "I wasn't thinking about them before, but now they're all I'm going to see whenever I look down."

A sigh, dramatic and entirely for show. "I swear, you Jedi invent new forms of torture every day."

Still, despite her words, a faint grin tugged at the corners of her mouth. She might complain, but there was a kind of warmth in it — the kind that only came from familiarity.

"I learned it from my padawan, it is important to test and make trials for the jedi." She said it though while moving with her attention. She took some food as well. "But who knows maybe not ten miles." She turned to walk with a laugh to herself that was more of a cackle... she could think of the situation. "If you are going to be a jedi, if you are going to be an Atrisian then you are going to want to be physically fit." She took a bite of the fruit when she was going back to the door and grabbed some of the waater in a bottle with a better look. "Come on get ready, if you stay fit and work out your hairr maintains color longer proven fact that I just made up."
