Crafting Some Robes [ Dev ]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexandra moved her hands over the clothing strung out over the table, her hands making sure that all the supplies were there in front of her for what she was going to make this time. She planned to make a set of new robes, much like her current ones but split into three different layers so that she would not need to worry about a need for different clothing to fit different scenarios like a battle. Most decided to use armor, but armor was cumbersome and took time to get into, robes were much quicker to remove and put on should she need to and she could adapt them to ceremonial, formal, and battle scenarios.

First came the actual creation of the robes, being that she was using materials that she had not used before in the last set that she was more known for wearing. She decided to do the two outer layers first as they would be the easiest to make and the least straining on her part due to their lack of need for imbuement unlike the main portion of the robes will be needed for. Of course, that being the case she took her time making sure that the first step was done perfectly as she could not correct her mistakes without redoing the entire piece itself.

The way that she was thinking for this first bit of work was to use Shimmersilk and apply small amounts of Norris Root Dye as well as the inclusion of a small number of Shellspider silk fibers into the weave. This would create a small amount of protection that she could benefit from but otherwise achieved just as she wanted which was a silver colored cloak, one that fit what she was known by and had a small impression of a tree on the clasps attached to the cloak.

She sighed as she knew this process was going to take a while.

First came the use of the dye on the Spidersilk and Shimmersilk strands, this was a bit more of a delicate process than normal for two reasons. First, the dye carried its former color meaning that she had to use another dye in order to keep the cloak in the silver color that it was supposed to have. This was a problem though as she worried that this might cause the effects that had made her choose to use Norris Root in the creation. Norris Root was reddish when made into a dye, something that did not mix well with a silver colored fiber unless you wanted to stain the cloak itself red.

Changing that color was not easy, though, as it forced her to work with several different other dyes and some chemicals she had until she found something that could at least dampen the color change. It had dampened the effects a small amount but it retained the color that she wanted and furthermore there was still trace amounts of the desired effect that was the reason she had looked into getting Norris Root in the first place.

Next came applying the Norris Root dye to both the strands of Shimmersilk and Spider shell silk. The process was a lot easier than the mixing she had had to do prior to this, but at least it was such. The process would take her through the night indefinitely which meant she would remain hovered over her project all through the night, eyes focused closely on the task before her without her body moving unless by direct command of her mind, steady and careful about everything she would do for the next hours.
