Coruscant Main Stage of The Dave Benefit Concert

Marek Starchaser

Guest
By a special visa, Marek Starchaser, former Foreman of the Techno Union, was given permission to land on Coruscant and was escorted under guard from the Dark Lord, to the benefit hall. Bright Star was bringing in management to assist with the benefit concert, as they had agreed with Radio Free Coruscant to allow local servers and acts to headline this benefit.

Grass roots and all, Dave was one of them, not someone from the galactic stage. He had met with DJ Lady Cyclone for a few moments before taking Alana and Ryan to make sure that everything was set. Making a request to allow [member="Tmoxin Temi"] to join him at the main stage, he was sending Token to make sure everything was fine on the Lok end, working at the Morpho Stadium. It was all going according to plan.

The Dark Sider could feel the Dark Lord’s influence on the guards and they were pairing well with the Hydra War Droid mk 2s, and working security. He was pleased to meet Dave’s family, doing his best to make it sound better than it was. But on top of that? He was more than excited to share the funds that he had already seen raised with the family. Many people were coming out to assist this, he knew he heard from a partner company in the Techno Union about their assistance, and [member="Seanna Vel"] was helping to provide the foodstuffs for the event.

Sure, there was a major push on Marna, but he knew the main situation was over here on Coruscant. And that was when he heard DJ Lady Cyclone introduce herself.

Show time!

Lucien being an ex-Fringe ambassador and current Head of finance in the union , A one-sith Ally, had very little difficulty in securing a visa to visit Coruscant. He travelled over to the benefit hall with a small guard of his own provision, one could never be too careful given the threat of 'Rebels' . Their acts of terrorism had gone on too long and tonight was not just about remembering Dave it was about showing the Terrorists that Civilised society couldn't be so easily broken.

Lucien looked out of his window as the speeder cut through Coruscant's urban centre. It had changed Immeasurably since his departure from the planet as a boy, gone was the feel of hustle replaced now with a calm sense of order. Order was nice but Lucien had to admit that the urban planet now felt dead. Of course he didn't vocalise such feelings he knew that despite being an honoured guest now he could very easily find himself chained up in a dungeon if he said the wrong thing.

Showing his invitation and credentials to the guards at the door Lucien made his way in, Just in time to see Lady Cyclone arrive on stage. He applauded politely along with the rest of the room but in truth he had no idea who his woman was. He had evidently fallen quite far out of popular culture.

It was unimportant however, what was Important was finding the wine . The wine was being provided by [member="Seanna Vel"] one of his business associates. Once he had wine he could face Dave's Family

Tmoxin Temi was already on Coruscant doing business when #NeverForgetDave happened in the capital. Basically, if you weren't up on the news about the unfortunate fate of the paunchy sweatered father of five, well you must be living in a sewer in the Underworld.

But experiencing some type of emotion… possibly sorrow? Pity for Dave's family? Honestly, it was hard for the Hapan to know exactly what she felt, so unfamiliar with intricate feelings that didn't have anything to do with herself. However, she felt something akin to distress, and hopefully it wasn't just that Bantha-meat Burrito eaten hurriedly on the way to the Benefit Concert. Should have had a salad, Tmoxin.

To do her part, the Hapan executive lent the use of Morpho Sports Complex for a large music festival, entitled Hands Across the Galaxy, the proceeds of which would go to Dave's family. Token Waters of Brightstar Entertainment was on the desert planet coordinating the entire effort, so Tmoxin could relax and enjoy the Benefit Concert on Coruscant engineered by her date for the evening, [member="Marek Starchaser"].

Security was the tightest she had ever seen on Coruscant. Gunships patrolled the skies, droids and foot soldiers were stationed around the perimeter, checking fanny packs, cargo short pockets and even bras for homemade bombs.

Trying to stifle her nerves, Tmoxin approached the stage and looped her arm around Marek's waist. Keep that frozen smile plastered on your pretty, freckled face, Tmoxin. This shindig is being broadcast throughout the entire galaxy. No pressure!

Dave. Dave was a friend, well not really a friend. Every time he asked me how the weather was in the office it made me die a little more on the inside, the same as it was yesterday Dave, underground. But a part of me oddly missed Dave, his bald head and mustache. And his death had me wondering, would anyone miss me when I died? Would anyone even know I existed? Am I even real?

Funny, the first time I actually have the balls to fly my speeder was the death of my coworker at the hands of the rebel alliance. Poor Dave, shot down while trying to get a burger, well maybe he shouldn't of been flying to get a burger during an attack near a military instillation. He always did lack common sense, maybe if I had just told him to get some this wouldn't of happened. So with that in mind I pulled into the parking lot of the event and sat in the cabin of my speeder for a few minutes.

"Dave you moron." I cursed to myself and bite my lower lip, debating if I should just go or not.

Social anxiety is a real queen, I have a hard time functioning in a room of four people much less four thousand, I don't think I can go through with this. Dave wasn't even my friend, I didn't even like the guy. So why am I here? Am I here to try and feel a little less guilty about myself and the fact that I spent the time I knew Dave lamenting the next morning when he'd ask me "how the weather was?" I think if he had asked me one more time I would of ended up in the obituaries, cause of death, "hung himself with his tie from the office ceiling fan due to Dave's repetitive and bad office humor" it's a working title.

But I owed Dave this much, and I his kids didn't deserve this. So go do this. Stepping out from my speeder I closed the door behind me and began to walk towards the sports center where the concert was being hosted in his honor. Dave, what a dick.

Finding her own ships landing making of the Techo. Even so she let herself do the finally shut down before she got up from her seat. Even so she knew that the her products was already there. That wasn't all after this more for the Dave and his family. It was very sad what had happen. Ramp was being let down, that was when more of her thought on the event that was to take place. Behold there was always something going it seem for her now days. If it wasn't training then it was business dealing.

Finding out more and more it was all in doing business, having a tough outer skin. Even so that only went so far that was right now to show compassion if only for a few hours. Her heals clicking on the pavement after which she felt the present of those that would be lending up. First things where first meeting with the others to show her support. It only after a few more moment she was behind the sense making sure all was ready with the food and her latest adventure into different alcoholic making.

Giving a smile hoping once more that she wasn't that late to speak to those putting it on her old master [member="Marek Starchaser"]. Finding him with another lady that of a great beauty like hers. [member="Tmoxin Temi"]. Again there was facing the family that Dave left before now how many children where there one two, three or half a dozen it didn't matter there was a wife and children left with out a father.

Wondering if any other she would know would be here at this befit that she would know, if there would be any way of seeing if this would be a start of getting her own name and that of her corporation.

There had been a lot of work getting this situation all settled. Radio Free Coruscant wanted to do things their way, but Bright Star knew the better way to handle most of it, still… Marek stepped back to allow the locals to do the thing for the man who had died on their world. Silly Rebels. He knew that the last time he dealt with them, [member="Hion the Herglic"] had come to his rescue. Most people didn’t want to feth with a whale.

The whole deal was being telecast by Vanir Tech, some company his cousin had set up a corporate agreement with through Bright Star, then there was the girlfriend Hapan Hussy who had set up Token and to a lesser extent, really as tech support, Jenn at the Lok stage. He wanted the big names here, on Coruscant. The Sith could help with security, but they were also over doing… Force knew what on Marna, the third station. That was an interesting development.

A world so far away developing a grass roots movement for this. It was almost as grass roots as Dispatch was.

The station had started to simulcast and interact with Marna, and soon Lok would be in the loop. He was waiting for the time when speeches were going to be given, then he would have to run things from this end, with DJ Lady Cyclone.

Do’t get jealous, Tmoxin.

This was Coruscant at its finest.

For all her silence, for all the long stretches she went sitting in her starship gazing out at some nebula, she loved Coruscant and it's bustle best. And it was in all its glory in honor of Dave that night.

In truth, Matsu was finding it extremely difficult to muster any sort of feeling at all about Dave. She'd stood in her rooms before the event pushing her features in to something that looked like sadness, pity, understanding for the family, anger that someone had attacked her people. Each was more frighteningly disingenuous than the last and she'd settled on just letting her features rest as perfectly neutral as was normal for her. She was impossible to read on any given day and that would work to her advantage here. No one would know she felt her dinner coming back up when one of Dave's children gave her a puppy-dog sad look.

And she played it incredibly well. Stepping out of her ship outside the Ballroom, she gave the news crews outside the suitably respectful expression they wanted out of an Empress mourning a blow to her people, to her planet, but at an event meant to celebrate Dave's life. Stepping in to the low hum of the event space was almost a relief as their clicking-clicking-clicking gave way to the silence of camera crews instead.

At some point she assumed she'd speak on behalf of her people, but for the moment she went around the room, greeting and thanking people for showing their support farther back from the stage where the music didn't drown out everything else. Eventually she would need to make her way to Mrs. Dave and family.

At this moment, Tmoxin was extremely proud of Marek. During the Morpho Sports Complex planning, she had a heart to heart talk with him. He seemed to be having a rough go at it and unfortunately had refrained from their normal two to ten glasses of champagne. But he was in very fine form tonight.

Was she still attracted to him?

Of course.

He was handsome, rich and a galaxy playboy. When he gave her a gift, it was not expensive wine or rare jewelry. The Brightstar Entertainment CEO had given her a luxury yacht for feth’s sake. While he wasn’t her sugar daddy per se, he had exquisite taste, and knew what Tmoxin liked. He still needed to teach her that trick with the lightning.

It seemed like the speeches were still yet to come, so Tmoxin had her assistant Beulah hand her a commlink so she could check in on the Hands Across the Galaxy Concert and Memorial going on in her beloved Sports Complex. As she was patched in she listened as various Smash Ball celebrities were making a eulogy to Dave, complete with a choir of schoolchildren singing gospel songs behind them. Touching.
