Coruscant: A Deadly Game

--- Three Days Later ---

Beams of light broke through the shutters of a hotel window, bouncing off the glass and casting a glow over the white comforter that was snuggly wrapped around Teyla's body. Bouquets of colorful flowers from fellow officers filled each empty space of room, making the place almost look like a flower shop. Along with those that had sent flowers, were messages containing well wishes for a fast recovery. Each officer had a tight connection, they were family to each other, and Teyla didn't get any more than someone else would have, if they'd fallen into the same position.

The issue for her medical release had been a few days already, but on request by Teyla, she'd not been in contact with anyone, asking close friends and associates to wait for her call when she was ready to talk. There was so much to still process, that Teyla just needed time.

The bodies of Alfred and Mrs. Grene had followed in death, shortly after the body of a Glitterstim investor had been discovered on the day she and Baros had been attacked. Apparently, from what she had heard, Baros had been held for a brief amount of time during the investigation, but he was released and most likely answering a lot of questions from the media.

Teyla stared down at the holodevice in her hand that she'd been thumbing for what felt like an eternity, contemplating making the call she should have made when waking up. Why couldn't she muster up the courage to do it? What was she afraid of? His reaction? Teyla bit on her lip, but forced her fingers to move, pushing the keys necessary to get in contact with @[member="Baros Sal-Soren"].

Although the conversation ended up being brief, he'd agreed to meet. Baros was the first call - besides family - that was made. Because, well, Teyla felt responsible for putting him in danger and couldn't ignore the needle prick on her conscious to apologize. That was the right thing to do.

Putting those thoughts aside for now, Teyla got herself up and left to go and freshen. Company was expected in about an hour, and as much as she felt like a hospital patient...she didn't want to still look like one.
