- Description: The Corellian Shock Trooper Corps were an elite fighting force and specialized component service attached to the Corellian Navy dedicated to defending Corellian Interests abroad. The Shock Trooper Corps functioned as the tip of the spear for the Corellian Military. Better equipped and better trained than CorSec Troopers were organized for mobility. Many Shock Troopers were deployed via drop pods directly onto enemy fortifications where they often faced high casualties but paved the way for future Corellian forces such as the CorSec Troopers to make camp for future engagements. They were deployed most often on Corellian Naval vessels as both on board security and a tool of force projection onto captured and boarded vessels. They also served on Navy bases and space stations throughout Corellian Space, though ground deployments were rare and highly coveted. The Corellian Shock Trooper Corps' special forces units were held in high regard within the Corellian military and were often called upon and utilized by Corellian Naval Intelligence for covert missions. Many of the Corellian Shock Trooper Corps' traditions, unit names, and ceremonies used Olys Corellisi and they had a strong sense of unity, even after discharge.

- Reputation: Where the CorSec Troopers were often viewed as a necessary part of life in the post-Imperial Bloc Galactic Core, the Shock Trooper Corps was seen as an aggressive and unnecessary display of military force by many member worlds of the New Republic. While the New Republic was staunchly anti-Imperial, they also advocated for peaceful resolution and a reactive response compared to a proactive stance. Due to the nature of the Corellian Shock Troopers being an almost purely expeditionary force, some within the New Republic questioned the real purpose of the Shock Trooper Corps. Within the Corellian Confederation however its member worlds saw the Corellian Shock Troopers as a non-issue.

- Composition: The Shock Trooper Corps were an expeditionary force mostly deployed on Corellian vessels. They were organized on both a macro and micro scale from individual squads all the way up to corps. They had a rigid rank structure but took commands from both Navy and Shock Trooper Corps leadership, though which branch trumped the other was entirely dependent on the mission perimeters. There were several special forces units within the Shock Trooper Corps that specialized in various disciplines such as zero-g combat, more heavily armed drop pod units, and others.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Corellian Shock Trooper Corps were founded after the Corellian sytem joined the New Republic. Soon after, worlds in what had been the Corellian Sector in the past began working closely together, eventually taking the name the Corellian Confederation. It was at this point that the member systems decided that to enhance the growing navy and CorSec forces bolstered by the Corellian Defense Force Modernization Plan, a dedicated expeditionary force needed to be developed and deployed as some worlds within the Corellian Confederation had yet to join or refused to officially join the New Republic, leaving them vulnerable to other outside influence. Corellian colonies outside of what was considered New Republic space were also left vulnerable. As a result, the first class was swiftly pulled together from a combination of civilian and CorSec Trooper volunteers. The culture that rose around the Shock Trooper Corps was a result of the first Marshal's fascination with old Corellian legends such as Garm Bel Iblis and Thrackan Sal Solo and the long military tradition of Corellia.
The first Corellian Navy base was established on Talus and thus became the home base for the Shock Trooper Corps as well however it wasn't until the formal establishment of Fort Derik'hur that the Shock Trooper Corps were able to train and maintain a large force. While other military bases were established later on, Fort Derik'hur would go on to become one of the largest physical bases and one of the largest concentration of Shock Troopers in the Corellian Sector, firmly establishing the Corellian Shock Troopers as a dominant military presence in the Corellian Defense Force.
