Consider Consitor Sato [Syn]

Sochi had been one of many padawans who had devoted themselves to studying and training. There had been campaigns, and dominions going on, but she hadn't partook because of her constantly trying to hone her skills. The closest she came to a mission was her being apart of the escort of Vice Chancellor Fenn. After that encounter she knew she wasn't yet where she wanted to be. Her lightsaber skills were progressing rather well, but her force skills she wasn't stressing as much as she felt she should. Today she was doing just that. She had finally caught up with Master Syn while he was briefly stationed in the temple. After discovering knowledge of e ability called Consitor Sato, or plant surge, she immediately sought him out because she knew that he was a practitioner. She hadn't worked with him before, but she had heard of the councilor. She was told to go to Tython where she would meet up with him and they would begin her training. She had gotten transport to the planet, and as she stepped off the ramp, the slight breeze took with it her robes, and skirt. It was wonderful to be back here after her pilgrimage with her friends.

She purposely didn't wear her boots for this one, she figured this would require a deep connection with the land. One that she missed, and would occasionally strengthen every now and then, thus was the way of her species. She figured maybe she should head to the temple there and await him. She knew of the history of this planet and wasn't expecting to find an abundance of Jedi here. Nevertheless this is where she was told to meet him and that's exactly what she did. She stayed just outside the temple located her and meditated in a grove just out front. She loved the meditative arts, and this was how she did most of her self training. Only when she had the time would she truly submit herself to the meditation. She centered herself, and allowed her lightsaber to float around her, while she awaited the arrival of the renown Jedi Master.

Syn had been interested when he heard the request. Someone wanting to learn how to work with plants. Few wanted to or at least few had the patience to learn A lot of standing around in a garden and he moved taking a seat. The normal attire he would wear for training altered to let him be barefoot so the vibrations went to his feet, so the feeling of the dirt between his toes was enough. The jedi master sat down in the dirt with the flowers from the hills while he breathed in deeply. His hand going over one of the flowers and keeping it intact while he transferred it from the bag to the ground. He gave a grin while sliding the freshly turned dirt over it. The neti in him making it an interesting experience while he didn't need to speak to the others. Then he felt it and looked up.

He moved staying only in his training cloths and sash over his eyes as he went into the grove and rolled his shoulders. It was a strange feeling now while his senses expanded to take in the other. a padawan which normally he wouldn't teach any questionable skills to but.... but this wasn't a bad skill that could be abused. This wasn't judgement or kinetite like some wanted to learn it was just learning to work with plants while he gave a nod approaching Sochi. "Welcome padawan Ru, I do hope your studies with your master are going well."

Sochi opened her eyes when she heard the voice of another, from the presence she felt they were strong in the force. It would have to be the Master she was learning from today. When she opened her eyes, her assumption was right after all. She stood up slowly, catching her lightsaber hilt and reattaching it to her belt. She ran her hands over her robes, and skirt to brush off any dirt, and to straighten out any wrinkles. She took a couple of steps towards him, and immediately submitting herself to a bow. After she payed her respects when they were due, she stood back up, with her hands interlocked. "Yes, my studies are going just fine Master Syn," she replied softly, and slowly. She assumed a professional demeanor, as such she applied it to memory so that it happened naturally. Her constant study, and application of the Jedi Code had been drilled into her everyday life. Some might say she practiced the code, and all its tenets to much, but to her that's what made a great Jedi.

"I'm grateful that I could have your participation this day Master, I hope I wasn't interfering with anything important on your already busy schedule" she said once more, paying respect to his time. She was always studying, and honing her skills. She was considered a bookworm by some of her peers, but she just wanted to be the best she could.

She was so.. precise if he had eyes it might be a sight but he didn't know what she was doing. Just that she seemed to be very would tense be a proper word. The thought was amusing but he couldn't disagree with it he hadn't seen many being prefessional of late.... One of those were him but it was nice to hear it. Then she thanked him for helping her and there was nothing important. He s[ent most time on Tython now so unless the council needed him for something he never left or if Iella called for his aid in something. "No I was not doing anything important as of yet. Just meditating and caring for a garden."

He let out a breathe and went to one of the trees, how to begin the lesson he was more asking himself. There was the sit and listen to try and feel the plants... but he had never done that. He had more or less just known how to do it as he smirked taking a shot in the dark and speaking. "This technique is very rare padawan what your about to learn is something only the greatest of masters could o, the ones with the finest commitment to the force and to nature. The ones who sacrificed much to take something simple and turn it into a way to help the world. In their absence though I will teach you how I learned from my mother a long time ago. The first step is to find something, a flower a blade of grass that you can focus on and listen to, find that point where you can feel it and use the force on it alone."

She nodded, as he replied to her question. She took a couple of steps closer. She started to follow slowly behind him as it would seem he was pondering something. She stood, watching, wondering what would happen next. She wondered what purpose the tree would serve when he went towards it. Possibilities ran through her mind as to how they would go about the training. Her attention went back to the master once he began to speak. She would hear him tell her of the difficulties, and how this was a rare ability. It would take a commitment. She could only nod her head, and do some pondering herself. She smirked in response to the fact that he was still willing to teach her. She was told that she would need find something, a flower, a blade of grass maybe. She looked around her. From a distance she could see blades of grass blowing in the wind. She walk over, and gently plucked one from the group, holding it still in her right hand. She walked back towards the master, her feet bare, and connecting with the land. She held it up so that he could approve of it or not.

Syn looked up from where he was as she went about, his senses flaring out and taking in the majority of the area around them as Sochi went about gathering her requested items. His smirk turned to a small frown when she picked up one of the blades getting a look on his face. "No not like that." He looked at her and crouched lower holding a hand over while he focused. The force flowing through his hand until the grass grew larger and straighter. "You don't want to break the connection to the earth, once you pluck something up, once you sever its connection it can't go back together. It can regrow but what you have taken is as good as dead. Now crouch down and focus, just feel with the force the soil between your feet and the grass. Don't tear at it, caress it and roll with it. Allow it to speak to you and become an extension of your abilities."

Ahh it would seem that she had made a mistake. She should've known to not pluck something from the land, seeing as she was trying to learn a skill that would soon allow her to help things grow, a skills that would require a close relationship with the land itself. She watched on as the Master crouched down and placed his hand over the blade that she removed from the ground. He utilized his abilities to make it grow longer, and straighter. She nodded, as he explained further about how she should go about doing this. It was in her species nature to have a connection with the land, but she wasn't listening as much as she thought. Her connection wasn't quite strong enough, because she was more focused on getting everything right. She too crouched down, and placed her hands on her knees. She closed her eyes, and began to clear her mind, applying more pressure on her feet so that would press into the ground itself. She soil was cool beneath her, and she felt a tingling feeling on her soles. She wasn't just learning how to grow, or regrow roots, she was connecting with her very own. When she felt she was ready enough, following her instincts, she too placed her hand over the blade of grass. She kept her eyes closed, and focused. Trying to feel the call of the land, and allow that to aid her in her creation.

[sorry working on getting a new job and it is ... hectic]

Syn listened to the padawan and gave a nod as she crouched there, he just focused his hands and on the force within them until he was sitting on the ground. The grass a little larger around him, plant surge could do many things but the old ways of learning it that he had been taught were sometimes the best ways. The ways of just meditating for hours until you could feel every fiber of a plant stem, or know the texture of every leaf. He let out a breath while moving his face closer to the grass and pushed the force out with it so it rose and swayed. "When I was a child, I was taught how to do this, how to make the plants and tall grass grow to hide me. From what I have been told the grass of cathar's blood fields matches my very fine fur. I do not know what you look like but some species can use this to make themselves blend in better."

(Oh its fine. Take your time :) )

The entire time she was listening to her master reminiscing about his experience with this ability, but was still concentrating on the blade of grass underneath her hands. She felt lighter, a connection was forming between the land that was tython, and Padawan Ru. A tingling feeling on the soles of her feet increasing only slightly. It would also be felt on her hands, but It wasnt the force, this was the grass that had grew to a length where it rubbed against the palms of her hands. She was surprised that she was able to perform the task, though it was only the begining stages. She opened her eyes, and picked up the longer length of grass that had grew under her care. She held it out in front of her for her Master to see. Then she spoke, "Maybe the grasses of Shili and Felucia match me better?" She said in response to his statement while showing him her recent success on the ability.

Syn just stared at the padawan, he knew she was holding things out to him but he raised an eyebrow. The force extending while he spoke and pointed. "Look its master yoda?" He pointed his arm out before bringing it forward and waving it in front of his face. "As much as it is hidden padawan I have no eyes to see your work. Only the force that flows throug it and you are doing well. This is not a hard technique to learn it is mastering it that you will have to work on and that is why learning it now when your younger is a good idea." He remained where he was and put his hand out to touch the grass. "There is much you can do even without trying so you will have to learn to focus on what your want to surge. That is where the single blade of grass or flower comes in. Each blade, each stem is something to grow not just a field."

Oh she kind of blushed in embarrassment, now she felt bad. She usually had everything figured out and knew who she was talking to. She hoped he wouldn't be upset with her. "Oh my, I apologize master Syn. I meant no disrespect." She said softly while her free hand slowly came up to cover her mouth after she was done talking. She however refocused when he began to speak about how she happened to be doing well, and how this technique was not a hard one to learn, but a hard one to master. He said to her that it was great that she began to study this technique early on in her training. She made sure to listen to his words, to make sure she understood the lesson he was trying to teach her, she nodded her head as the conversed. "I thank you for teaching me the basics of this skill." She said softly.

He laughed at her quickness to try and apologize... There was much he would and could feel disrespected for but not observing he was blind was little. He didn't always act like it, well he did but walking with the force wasn't to bad a thing and fighting with others when it was needed was something not many had to worry about. He remained where he was just hearing her and bringing his hands around to glide his fingers over it. "You are most welcome, normally I have padawans asking for me to teach them juyo or something dangerous it has been refreshing to teach something that isn't about aggression and tempering it. So you are one to thank very much, tell me young one who is your master?"

She was glad he didn't scold her for being so, oblivious would be the word she would use. Now she would remember this every time she saw the Master, hopefully it would make her appear awkward. She began to fiddle with the blade of grass she had been practicing with, twirling it between her index finger and her thumb, then she refocused. Looking back up to the master as he began to explain to her that she was the one who needed to be thanked, although she begged to differ, she nevertheless listened. She was aware of padawans constantly wanting to learn everything they could use out of aggression, but that wasn't necessarily Sochi. She smiled, and slightly bowed before the Master.

"My Master is Marek S'hadar, a man so young, but full of wisdom it would seem." She said softly, now halting the twirl of the lengthy blade of grass in her hand.

Syn chuckled, he had met the young man when he had first come to the order and it had been questionable compared to others but he wasn't one to judge. The man had done as needed to show he meant what he had said about redemption. So far he was staying on the proper course for it and the jedi master could admit he had been wrong. Or at least it was a lull in his actions. Plenty could still happen and he never trusted anyone who had once been a sith.... Or most jedi it had proven a great way to stay alive over the years. He just kept his face on the padawan and gave a nod. "Yes he has went through a great deal and learned. He will make a good jedi if he keeps at it but watch out for him. Just as he is supposed to protect you so are you supposed to protect him."

She wasn't sure how to react or if she herself should trust a man, who had once been a sith, to be her master. Besides that, his style, and personality would prove opposite of hers. Nevertheless Sochi knew that there was much to learn from him after he had expressed his backstory to her. Ru was immediately taken out of thought when her master was proceeding to talk. She made sure to listen. It would prove a good decision, because there was much wisdom behind Master Syn's words. She would do just that. Protect her Master, and in turn she would hope he would do that same thing. He had already proven his care for her, and she was more than content with studying underneath him.

"Yes master," she said nodding at the end of his statement.

Syn gave a nod of his head to Sochi and her words. She was understanding and he could sense more from her while he sat there. There was little else to teach her beyond just practicing. He crossed his legs and sat there with his hands on his knee's. "You have done well and learned much. On the terms of this skill there is very little left to teach you and all you can do is practice it. Now the choice of what you do is yours. Meditate here with me or you may go and find your own area your own way."

If anyone knew Sochi they knew she was all about practicing, studying, and learning. That's all she did. Now that she had grasped the concept of this particular force skill, she was just itching to go out, and hone it and hone it until she further understood it. She watched as the master sat there about to begin meditation. She loved those arts as well. "I think I shall go Master" she said bowing. "Again I thank you for your time" she said following up and slowly walking away, to leave him to his meditation.
