Background and Biography
It's hard to get a more average life than the one of Conner Tarven. Born on the farming world of Taanab, his parents were middle class workers who owned a small farm. They didn't struggle to put food on the table, but they didn't have a lot of money for luxuries. This time on a farm taught Conner the values of hard work, and instilled in him a strong set of morals. His father taught him to always put other people first, and to help out whenever possible.
He passed school with flying colors, earning him a scholarship to a premier Taanab university. He worked hard for a degree, as many of the professors there thought that a simple farm boy should not be attending such a prestigious establishment, and actively worked against him.
But despite that, he managed to get a degree, and at age twenty-four, realized what he wanted. He wanted to help people. So he entered politics.
He began small, running for a spot on a local city council. His ideas to help those that cannot help themselves grated on the nerves of the Taanab elite, and for four years, he did not get a spot. For the first decade of his political career, Conner gave speeches to empty rooms.
But he never gave up, his work ethic playing to his advantage, here. He fought tooth and nail for any recognition from Taanab politicians, gathering a small but loyal following. This allowed him to finally obtain that spot on the city council, which opened the floodgates.
While in this position, Conner met his future wife, Darla. They married after two years.
Over the next thirty years, Conner was elected to increasingly important positions, while almost never changing his rhetoric.
Taanab must be an example to the galaxy. It was their duty to help those that can't help themselves, and to fight any and all forms of corruption in the government.
His following grew, soon becoming a very popular man, even as his political backlash grew.
At the age of sixty-three, he ran for the position of Senator of Taanab to the Galactic Republic. It was during this time that he divorced his wife Darla, in a nasty affair that lasted several months, and left him heartbroken.
But he threw himself into the election, and it paid off.
At the age of sixty-four, Conner Tarven became a Galactic Republic Senator.
