SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Standard warheads are high explosive with a lethal radius* of around 15m and shrapnel extending beyond that, or armour piercing which has a third of the blast radius but a shaped and armoured nose cone.
    • *This is a technical term to reference the comparable power of the munition. The is no intention to override the agency of the targeted player.
  • Option to add scavenged droid brain parts to rockets for guidance but very limited supply (see strengths and weaknesses)
  • Rear loaded firing tube
  • Large back blast makes firing from an enclosed space inadvisable
  • Iron sights normally used but has a simple holo-targeting display to assist aim and sync with guided rounds.
  • several components are collapsible or detachable for ease of storage.

STRENGTHS
  • Extreme damage output - the 55mm rockets pack a heck of a punch with either exposive or armour piercing warheads.
  • Long range - The rockets can reach out to around 3km range, hitting something with an unguided round at this range may be tricky.
  • Limited Guidance - The standard rockets are fairly accurate but fly straight to the target. Using scavenged droid brain parts, Hex can add a guidance system to the missile, this will sync with the targeting reticle allowing Hex to paint the target and the droid brain does the rest. The flight path can be switched between direct and top down attack, but the actual flight path varies depending on the whims of that specific droid brain.
  • Limited Guidance - Optional bayonet attachment, because why not? Being able to stab someone with a bazooka seems like a useful ability.
WEAKNESSES
  • Back Blast - Who needs spigots and delayed motors? The rocket all the work but this means there is a significant back blast. This makes firing the launcher in an enclosed space potentially dangerous, and will also give away the position of the firer. This set up does however keep the recoil managable considering the power of the weapon.
  • Limited guidance - mostly the rockets are straight to target, line of sight weapons. They can be upgraded with scavenged droid brains, however targeting still requires line of sight and due to the difficulty scavenging and building the guidance systems they are very limited.

Optional rule : Each time a guided rocket is fired roll a dice on an odd number, that was the last guided rocket available for this thread.
  • Single shot weapon - While the launcher is good for multiple uses, it must be reloaded with a fresh rocket after every shot.
  • Large ammunition - at 55mm in diameter 40cm long and weighing around 1.5kg, carrying more than half a dozen rounds on your person is going to be cumbersome.
DESCRIPTION

Hex built "Confetti" by hand to her own specifications from salvaged parts. While not the perfect launcher, it is her pride and joy and fits her desire to make large explosions. The projectiles are fast and accurate, flying at the target followed by a trail of grey smoke. When in guided mode, the weapon often fires in a high looping arc to allow top down strikes as the droid brain follows its basic instructions.

The rockets pack a large amount of high explosives in to their shell and are powerful munitions with a long effective range. The range is limited more by the quality of the user than the quality of the rocket. Guided it can hit a target 3km away, but unguided it is much shorter. Hex has practiced a lot and can reliably bullseye a womp rat from about 400 metres away with an unguided round.
