Concerns of a Species w/ Wookeepedia entry

So, i know our general rule of thumb when it comes to playable species is; "Not on the banned list? Has a Wookieepedia or Codex Entry? And it's sentient? You can play it."

Well. I came across a species that fits the description, but....the canonicity described in the article has made me iffy.

The Wookieepedia Entry, for reference. Would like admin opinion, if possible.

two days later, it was revealed to be an April Fools' joke, and thus non-canon.[2]

That seems pretty clear to me that it's non-canon, which would exclude it.
