Colony Procurement [Outer Rim Coalition]

Toronis, Karideph, Outer Rim Coalition

An invitation went out to homegrown businesses large and small, throughout Coalition territory. The government of Uukaablis, an alien culture deep in the Kathol Outback, wanted to build a colony. As Captain J.Q. Merrill had a good bit of experience with both the Uukaablians and ad-hoc Wild Space procurement processes, the Coalition had tagged him to assist. Uukaablis ranked high among Coalition members; their medical and shield technology was second to none. They'd done a lot of good in the process, and made a lot of money.

Nobody resented the Uukaablians, largely because even at their most successful they bought local. They'd paid for a gorgeous meeting room in Toronis, a city on Karideph. They would back whatever decision their delegates made, including Jorus. And they'd advertised the procurement process in as open-ended a way as possible:

If you feel your technology, services, personnel, or ships would add value to our exploration and colonization effort, pitch it.

There were a few things her company could do. Well, her father’s company. Her family company, yeah let’s go that route. The Starchaser Enterprises utilized a mobile base of the Dawn Treader and were very comfortable, existing in and around the Outback. Probably why they made their trips there pretty regularly, especially for shake down, when they didn’t have anywhere else to be. And when they had heard something was going on with the Uukaablis around the Outback, well, the Treader was making her way.

The Enterprises was working heavily on shield tech, something they learned, remotely, from the Uukaablis and this was a way to pay them back. When the ship had arrived, Kaia had taken her personal freighter down to the planet, and was escorted to the meeting room. She didn’t carry her rifle, nor any armor, just a lightsaber and a datapad. Her company had ships, and they had a penchant for exploration, they’d be able to help here.

Aeshi took a deep breath as she made her way down to where the meeting would be held. She’d spent too long in tbe core with the Metal Lords. Granted, she was a Metal Lady at this point, but still. There were some terrible memories connected to the stars at the center of the galaxy and notingnshe could do wild shake them.

This was where she belonged, out in the Outer Rim, exploring new worlds, charting new courses, and living amidst stars that, perhaps, in the distance, nobody else had ever visited. That was her home. On the edge of the horizon, balanced between the old and the unknown. And this? This would be the perfect opportunity.

She recognized some of the others here. Her path had crossed that of [member="Kaia Starchaser"] and [member="Jorus Merrill"] before, but it had been quite a while. She gave them a nod and half salute of greeting.

“Good to see you all again.”
