POINTS OF INTEREST
Mine
b995ed4561f956813aa785f26c72caec.jpg
A network of caverns which contains vast quantities of metal ores and minerals. These mines are what brought about the camps existence and many towards the surface have been built up. The environment is hostile as you descend, leaving the durasteel doors, supports and miner camps and into the darkness.
Refinery

Built into the nose of the ruins of ISD Cold Steel, the refinery is where all ores and minerals are sent to be sorted, refined and packaged. Vast conveyer systems, forges and machines now take up the ISDs nose and all of it is manned by machine or slaves, kidnapped in Vaun's raids or sold to him by shady organisations.
Engineering Bloc

The smallest department within the labour camp the factory takes in only 16.5% of materials harvested. In here engineers, whether willingly or against their will, design and produce weapons and other technology to be utilized and sold.
Citadel

Dubbed the Citadel by many within the camp, the citadel is camp's nerve centre and is located in the Star Destroyer's bridge. From here one can control the camp, from powering the factories in the engineering bloc to the electric fences which surround the worker slums.
Worker Slums
8582e3f0830d6d933c6fe8ecfd7cda1c.jpg
Built from tents, scrap metal and whatever the slaves who are forced to work can find, the slums are where they reside when not being forced to work brutal hours in dangerous conditions. These slums are spread across the centre of the ship, some sitting on the hull and others near the entrance to the mine. Soldiers constantly patrol and monitor the slums to ensure obedience from the workers. Those that live here find their only comfort is that they at least have a roof over their heads
Barracks
michael-anderson-swbfii-michaelanderson-18.jpg
The former bunks of the Cold Steel's crew has been turned into the barracks for Vaun's men. Being split between officers and enlisted, the barracks have been cleaned up from their previous state and house everything they need. From the armoury next door to a messhall operated by droids the life of guards and officers is far better than that of the workers.

SECURITY
High, Maximum
) and any specific security assets in list format. What defenses does this location have, including internal and perimeter defenses? Please note that the rating is relative to the type of location this is. Normal civilian structures have a different scope in security, compared to military bases. Private security, alarms, perhaps even a defensive shield, but they should not have entire armies within or enough armament to destroy a fleet above. Please link rare or uncommon tech/equipment to the SW wiki article or Factory-approved submission. Common canon items do not need to be linked.]

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
During the clone wars the Republic naval ship Cold Steel saw most of its action in the core. The ship had taken heavy damage at the Battle of Anaxes and halfway through the battle was ordered to retreat. However as the ship was entering hyperdrive a squadron of Hyena bombers attacked, critically damaging the hyperspace systems aboard the ship, causing it to enter a hyperspace crossroad, propelling it across the galaxy into Chiss Space, before the damaged Star Destroyer crashed onto the surface of Thearterra. The Chiss payed little attention to the ship as it crashed far away from the main mining fields and instead they simply evacuated the surviving crew in order to prevent them from becoming a future problem.

It was only decades later when Himm'nuru'verda, one of Vaun's forefathers discovered that the crashed star destroyer had exposed a cave system, rich with minerals and ore. Keeping this knowledge to himself, he attempted to set up a mining facility away from the competitive and much larger Mitth and Ufsa families. Attempting to actually begin the extracting process was much harder than Nuru first thought and even though he set up the facility to be able to mine and refine the ore, the risk of having the other families find and claim the deposits was too great. Instead he decommissioned it, and kept it as a family secret, with each direct descendant being provided the information on where the decommissioned facility was.

Hundreds of years later Vaun decided it was time to act on his family's inheritance. With the collapse of the Zweihander Union he took soldiers loyal to him as well as mercenaries from nearby systems and began a campaign of piracy, kidnapping people he believed had failed the Union and bringing them to the wreckage of the Cold Steel. These prisoners would become the workers of the facility, mining and refining the ore that came out of the ground under the watchful eyes of Vaun who proclaimed himself as "Camp Commandant". The venture gained success, selling their metals to starship corporations, eventually allowing Vaun to expand product to technologies built from the material they mined. From weapons (which are thoroughly tested on disobedient prisoners) to naval technology Cold Steel Labour Camp remains in hiding, churning out whatever it can sell to a select list of buyers privy to only Vaun himself.
