OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To flesh out my character's Mandalorian clan as well as to create a unit she can lead in combat
- Role: Clan Wyrvhor serves as the family and personal strike team of Manti Wyrvhor
- Permissions: N/A
- Links: Mandalorian Empire
- Unit Name: Clan Wyrvhor
- Affiliation: Manti Wyrvhor
- Classification: Elite Infantry and Fighter Pilots
- Description: Clan Wyrvhor dress in steel-gray armor with occasional pieces painted white for adornment. Each suit of armor is emblazoned with the symbol of a wampa's skull which acts as the clan's symbol.
- Unit Size: Small, each squad is made up of twelve Mandalorians.
- Unit Availability: Rare, clan Wyrvhor is made up of three squads who are able to act independently of one another.
- Unit Experience: Elite.
- Equipment: Each individual comes equipped with Beskar'gam but other than that there is no standard equipment. Most carry modern blasters, combat knives, and thermal detonators while each squad also having access to heavy weaponry such as rocket launchers, heavy blaster rifles, and planted explosives to cover a squad's situational needs.
- Combat Function: In combat Clan Wyrvhor mostly act in small twelve man squads where each individual is expected to be somewhat independent but ultimately differ to the squad leader's commands. While able to take part in large pitched battles Clan Wyrvhor excelles in close quarters tactics against a numerically similar or slightly larger force focusing on overwhelming force. They use these tactics most often in the void of space where Clan Wyrvhor are often the first to board enemy vessels.
Outside of ground engagements each member of Clan Wyrvhor are also trained to operate a wide variety of fighter and bomber craft and are dispatched in wings of twelve to dogfight in the void between capital ships or to support members of their Clan or others on the ground. Skilled pilots who have been in the pilot's seat since their early youth Clan Wyrvhor are a force to be reckoned with in a dogfight.
Strengths:
+ Mandalorian Commandos: Each fighting member of Clan Wyrvhor have been trained since childhood in the ways of Mandalorians. This has made them excellent infantry capable of taking most conscripted and standard issue ground forces in the galaxy.
+ Ace Pilots: Built on top of their Mandalorian skills and discipline every fighting member of the clan is expected to be a skilled pilot. While certainly not the best pilots in the galaxy they can certainly compete.
Weaknesses:
- Dogmatic: The downside of their Mandalorian training is that those who have fought Mandalorians before or are versed in Mandalorian strategy may find the clan to be predictable.
- Glory Seekers: More often than not Clan Wyrvhor's members seek glory and accolades which can often lead them to make brash and poorly thought out choices. This has often led to an individuals downfall as they fall for traps others may have thought twice about walking into.
Clan Wyrvhor's exact history is a mystery as they have not bothered to record their history and what records have existed on computers and drives across their variety of ships are wiped every few months as befits military protocol. The oral history of their people however says they are descendents of the Children of the Watch who were left behind by their parent clan when the original squad that would become Clan Wyrvhor was believed to have been killed on a mission on Hoth. They survived only by seizing an Imperial Tartan-class Patrol Cruiser which landed at an abandoned Imperial base to refuel and was crewed by a rogue contingent of Stormtroopers who had fled the fall of the Galactic Empire. This vessel, now simply referred to as The Ancestor Vessel served as the base of operation of the clan for many years as they established themselves as competant mercenaries on the galactic stage.
In recent years post-gulag plague the clan has been reduced in number to only a few dozen individuals who lack any connection to their ancestors as the Ancestor Vessel and many artifacts associated with the clan were lost during the plague. They have now thrown in their lot with the Mandalorian Empire hoping to secure a better future.[/B]
