COMBAT INFORMATION

  • Availability: Common

  • Deployment: Minor

  • Strengths & Weaknesses:
    No Honor:
Some people fight for a cause. Others fight for their nation. The Clan soldiers… don’t do any of those things. Instead they stab enemies in the back, hold loved ones hostage, poison water sources, raid supplies, steal rations, booby-trap children… you get the idea. They use any and all means available to gain the upper hand on their opposition. As a cosmic joke, this often involves underhanded means.
    Grizzled:
Anyone who survives Point Nadir past the age of fifteen has at least grievously injured, if not outright murdered someone. The Clan soldiers are ten times worse. They’re accustomed to the horrors of war and how to react even in the most trying circumstances.
Untrained: Not in the traditional, military sense, at least. Their discipline leaves a lot to be desired, and the chain of command is about as stable as a jenga tower during an earthquake.
Clans: Due to their differing Clan loyalties, teamwork can be compromised. Be it a difference of opinion or an old grudge, the friction has been known to cause problems – especially on extended contracts, where mixed soldiers are forced to spend a lot of time together.

  • Description: With the expansion of Nadir’s influence came a growing need to iron out small issues and… discourage any uncooperative locals from getting ideas. To this end, Nadir impressed upon the Great Clans a need to pool their soldiers together in mixed, well-equipped units. These men and women bring great experience to the table, but they bring irreconcilable differences just as often. For this, strong and well-respected sergeants and lieutenants are required to keep them in line – and even then, they are still sitting on a primed powder keg.

Because of that, and of the fleeting nature of their missions, these units are almost always temporary. Still, as Nadir’s business model evolved, so did their gamut of assignments expand. These days, they are not an uncommon sight in foreign turf wars, hired by one side or the other (or both) to help with conflict resolution.
