GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Circle of the Light Hand
  • Classification: Force-tradition
  • Loyalties: The Light Side of the Force, Jedi in general
  • Organization Symbol: Loosely, the insignia that Tiland uses to refer to the Circle is the outline of an open-hand, palm outward, and colored gold. The hand is surrounded by a white silver circle, quartered by a cross.
  • Description: For the Jedi of a more monastic temperament, Tiland has developed upon some ancient ideas he uncovered and melded them with his own training to develop a style of unarmed martial arts that uses the Force to develop self-mastery.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: None (Nomadic)
  • Realm: Itinerant
  • Domain: Itinerant
  • Notable Assets: None

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The structure of the circle is drawn from the structure of the Jedi Order, albeit slightly modified to have novices, adepts, and masters. There is no formal authority structure beyond the teacher-student relationships, as most members of the Circle will find themselves working alone or in small groups for long periods of time.
  • Membership: Roughly a dozen individuals. In order to join, one must be trained by a Master of the Circle. The challenging part is finding one of them, since they are dispersed throughout the galaxy. The best way would be to contact Jedi Master and Circle Master, Tiland Kortun. Novices will be trained in the philosophy primarily, as well as the basics of the Force skills. Adepts will be begin their training in the martial arts style, and in time, when they prove themselves qualified, will be recognized as a Master, although it is a long process.
  • Influence: None in particular
  • Climate: Contemplative and focused, they are focused on understanding themselves within the Force and achieving mastery over themselves in order to best be led by the movements of the Force. Yet despite this, the reason they focus on this is to better serve others, so altruism is a key tenet.
  • Reputation: Same as Jedi, since that's what they are.
  • Rules:
    -The Jedi Code
    -Path of the Light Hand:
  • Doctrines:
    Path of the Light Hand:
    1. All living beings are the Force, embodied. Respect them, for we are all the same.
    2. To slay another causes disharmony in the Force and it is harmony within the Force that is the ultimate purpose in life.
    3. Only the Force can be relied upon and we must be prepared to act with nothing but the Force and our selves.
    4. The hand is the way that the Force allows us to aid others, so it must be held lightly, ready to either aid another, or defend others against oppression, and to return to being the aiding hand as soon as the threat lifts.
    5. We can neither change nor control anything but ourselves and even this itself is a life-long process, but it must be striven for regardless.
    6. Mastery over the self is the first step in the process of achieving harmony with the Force.
  • Goals: At its heart, the goal of the Light Hand is to achieve self-mastery through discipline and the Force, working at the individual level. In doing so, Tiland strives to cultivate a group of Jedi who will be able to travel easily and simply, aiding those in need wherever they are needed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Tiland has long traveled the galaxy, studying ancient lore in his search for knowledge and information of the Force, seeking ways to overcome his inherent Anzati nature. In his travels, he has come across many tidbits of old lore, scraps of forgotten documents, brief mention of forgotten sects, and styles long forgotten by the rest of the galaxy.

As he studied and reconstructed this information, he began to think of ways that he could build upon them, elaborate, reconstruct, and create something new. From a snippet of an ancient text referring to keeping the hand held loose, to move between the fist of defense and the open hand of aid. So, he gathered his experience and knowledge to begin creating a new style and a new community of Jedi. Those who eschewed the use of the lightsaber in exchange for anonymity, instead relying on the Force and themselves.

So, he formed the Circle of the Light Hand, those who chose the Way of the Light Hand, and its lifelong path of self-discipline, training, and anonymity.
