Atop their skulls grows a pair of antlers, though the evolutionary purpose of this is unknown. Their bodies are covered in thick, black, fur that grows thickest on their neck and torso. The eyes of a Cinn Dhorcha are ominous, with red irises, and pitch black sclera, surrounded by black skin.

 • Distinctions: Although the Cinn Dhorcha are roughly humanoid, their skulls are bare of any features. Their long, fur covered, pointed ears blend in with the thick mane that surrounds their neck, and from their skulls grow elk-like antlers, which many decorate with trinkets and other little things. They have four main fangs at the front of their mouths, with teeth getting incrementally smaller the closer to the jaw.

 • Races: N/A

 • Force Sensitivity: Standard
Strengths:

 • Thick Fur: Their thick fur keeps them warm during the harsh winters on Vanquo, and protects them from other environmental dangers.

 • Sharp Claws: With hands that end in sharp claws, the Cinn Dhorcha are dangerous hunters, who need no tools to rip through the flesh of their prey.

 • Balanced: Because of their belief system, the Cinn Dhorcha value balance above all things, and will not take or kill more than they need to in order to survive.
Weaknesses:

 • Non-verbal: The Cinn Dhorcha are unable to have a spoken language, due to the shape of their heads.

 • Primitive: The Cinn Dhorcha have no way to defend against more advanced technology, like vibroswords and blasters.

 • Recovering: Many clans of Cinn Dhorcha are still recovering from the Netherworld crisis, and clan numbers are low, causing their strength in numbers to be low.
CULTURE

 • Diet: Omnivore

 • Communication: Sign language, growls, telepathy for those gifted with the Force

 • Technology level: Primitive, but learning from stolen or lost technology from Clan Solus patrols on Vanquo

 • Religion/Beliefs: Cinn Dhorcha worship a god aligned neutrally in the Force. This god’s name is unknown to outsiders, but what is known is that they are a three-headed god. The first head on it’s right, with a wolf-like appearance, symbolizes violence, the hunt, and death. The left head, deer-like, symbolizes life, sacrifice, and family. The center head, is that of a Cinn Dhorcha, and symbolizes balance. Rituals completed by clan shamans vary from being rather Dark-sided in nature, such ritualistic sacrifice of living beings, to being Light-sided in nature.

 • General behavior: Cinn Dhorcha are a clan-based society, with settlements varying from small groups, to ones about the size of a village. They are led by a group of three; the clan’s lead healer who wears the pelt of an Eireaball Fida, the strongest hunter who wears the pelt of a Scriosar, and one who has done both healing and hunting in their lifetime who wears a simple cloak. These three Cinn Dhorcha work together, but also separately, in running the clan. Though the lead healer and strongest hunter’s role in leading seem to be clear to outsiders, the one who wears but a simple cloak’s role is unclear. It is assumed, however, that they are to mediate between the two other leaders in case of conflicts.
“It takes a village to raise a child” as the saying goes. This is doubly accurate for the Cinn Dhorcha, as even though they mate for life, children are raised by all in the clan. Parents, of course, spend the most time with their children however. Those gifted with the Force have three choices as they grow older: hunters, who ride Scriosar into battle; healers, who use the Force and the flora of Vanquo to heal the sick and injured; or shamans, the clan’s religious sect who conduct all rituals. These shamans are split into three sects: those who practice of the Dark, the Light, and both Light and Dark. No fewer than 3 fully trained shamans live in each clan.

Hunters must be Force Sensitive, and are trained from a young age to be ruthless hunters. As they grow older and more powerful, they are sent off alone into the forests of Vanquo to hunt, find, and subdue a Scriosar using the Force. This Scriosar then becomes that hunter’s personal mount, until either rider or mount dies. If the rider dies before the Scriosar, the clan’s shamans will take control of it, and eventually use it in some way shape or form.

Non Force Sensitive clan members are, usually, farmers, foragers, cooks, and caretakers for the young and old. Those who take care of the young, teach them the life skills they need, and guide them towards a path best suited for them. Aging Cinn Dhorcha however, spend their time passing on legends and myths until their time comes. When they do pass on, the shamans take their corpse, and use it in various rituals, both Light and Dark.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The first records of the Cinn Dhorcha’s existence comes from an Anam hunter’s paper and leather bound journal, thankfully written in Basic, dated almost 10,000 years ago. This journal was found buried in a small chest by miners about 6,750 years ago, along with two rings, two braids of red hair, and a locket containing a small painting of two males dressed in formal wear. In the same load as the chest, was a blood-stained, songsteel, ceremonial knife. DNA analysis on the hair revealed no matching species in any database at the time. The last 10 entries detail the hunter and his husband going on a hunt together, until they are discovered by “black furred, monstrous creatures, with eyes like a Blood Moon” in the 6th to last entry. The next three entries detail their imprisonment in a clan’s settlement, which lasted 4 days for the hunter, and 3 days for his husband.

The 2nd to last entry is the hunter’s recountment of the creatures he dubbed the Cinn Dhorcha, “Dark Ones” in Basic, as they took his husband from their cage. The hunter was quite detailed in his recountment of the event, writing that they fed some type of liquid to his husband that caused him to pass out. The Cinn Dhorcha then stripped him of his clothing, applied oil to his skin, and painted symbols all over his body. It is on the next page that the letters are smudged by what are assumed to be tears, where the hunter details that the Cinn Dhorcha waited until his husband woke up, before stabbing him in the stomach. His husband’s last words as he was sacrificed in the Cinn Dhorcha’s dark ritual were “Tá mé i ngrá leat, mo chuisle” as recorded at the end of the entry.

The last entry in the journal, is what is assumed to be the hunter’s death letter after his presumed escape, and an apology to his husband for not being able to save him. There is a small amount of blood stains on the final entry, but not enough to obscure the final words...

“I’ll see you soon, mo chuisle.”

The miners would not meet these “Cinn Dhorcha” creatures until various mining camps were attacked all over the planet. Security of mines near known Cinn Dhorcha settlements were immediately increased, after miners would go missing in the night. These attacks have lasted until the present day, though now the main conflict is with the Mandalorians who call the planet home, Clan Solus. Survivors of groups that are captured are the only known sources on Cinn Dhorcha living. Some groups have also recalled encountering these beings in the wild, and being left alone, with no harm coming to them. The reasoning behind this, is unknown.

It is unknown exactly how many Cinn Dhorcha exist, though attacks on camps lessened in frequency, almost to a complete stop, after the Netherworld crisis. It is assumed that many clans suffered extreme losses during the event, though it was never confirmed.
