[SIZE=14.6667px]The Stonehammer is a well armed gunship, designed to bring mandalorians to the heart of battle and also provide fire support. Often engagements are very rapid, with no time to deploy ground-based armor or even the ability to do so in certain environments. Land vehicles are particularly ill-suited for giving troops maneuverability on vertical city worlds such as Coruscant. It has been found that a wave of Bes'uliik fighters, closely followed by a deployment of Choruk’han with support from orbital batteries can take and occupy can successfully assault many defensive formations in a range of conditions. Such a force can deploy from capital ships within minutes and deploy to another area of a planet in a similar time. This enables the mandalorians to operate well within the operational tempo of a defending force. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=14.6667px]In the rear, four mandalorian commandos are protected by armor plating and shields. It is quite cramped, but they are able to charge their armour and weapons from the platform and use the Choruk’han’s high-bandwidth comms to carry out planning and access intelligence vital to the mission. At the least they fire team commander can view the live feed from the outside of the craft, using its sensors. Four is quite a low number, but this many mandalorian commands is far more effective in battle than most infantry squads. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=14.6667px]The rear door drops to allow troops to dismount. The gunship is relatively quiet and capable of keeping low to the ground, with a low sensor profile. This often allows the Stonehammer to deploy soldiers into covert operations. Each ship carries a shoulder-mounted missile launcher in case the ground troops need to immediately engage enemy armor. [SIZE=14.6667px]The Choruk’han provides exceptional close air support to troops. Its sensors can be used to provide information to ground forces, or it can even simply act as a long-range comms relay. Yet this gunship has teeth. The main cannon can obliterate ground vehicles and strafing runs can devastate infantry. Eight proton torpedoes can be used against heavily armoured ground targets or structures, or for engaging air targets at long range. Light guided rockets fulfill a number of purposes: [/SIZE]
