Kardek Alpha

Kardek raised an amused eyebrow at her assessment of his tour. "To behold my condo is the greatest honor bestowable." He pressed a hand gently against his heart with a mock sense of shock on his face, "You have wounded me deeply." Kardek then smiled and gently pressed against her back, moving the two of them in the direction of a security guard who was standing at an elevator entrance. "But your wish is my command." He took in another hit from his lit cigarra and smiled as the guard seemed to recognize him.

Soon they were escorted through a private entrance into the club, which was called “Conni-Scanti”. The music was blasting, the bass pulsating through their chests as they left their private VIP lounge and ventured onto the dance floor. It was rather full tonight, with species from all over the galaxy seeming to be represented. Elaborate lasers and lights pulsed with the music, and Kardek leaned in and all about shouted into Mia’s ear over the noise.

“Hope you like to dance. Otherwise this place is a bust!” With that he joined in with the crowd, dancing a bit loosely due to the level of intoxication he was experiencing.

Mia was a fighter, not a dancer, but with the amount of alcohol already flowing in her veins she was content to let loose on the dance floor. Following his lead she let the beat thrum through her, letting go and loosing herself in it. The dance floor swallowed them, pulling them into the centre, apart and back together again, Mia lost track of time, until her mouth ran dry.

Catching Kardek's eyes over the people that had come between them, she made a drinking motion with her hand before slinking through the press of people towards the bar. Heat rolled off her and a sheen of sweat covered her, she felt good, better than she had in a while. Squeezing between patrons leaning against the bar trying to have a shouted conversation, she waved the bartender down, ordering drinks for both her and Kardek.

On her right, a Rodian turned to take interest in her, his hand sliding across her lower back as he leaned in to talk to her. Mia stiffened, turned slightly and forcefully removed his arm from her, fixing him with a warning glare. He shrugged and moved on but the tension didn't quite leave her.

Kardek, who enjoyed getting lost in the music and the crowd, caught the cue from Mia. He nodded, continuing to dance as he slowly made his way off the dance floor and towards the bar. Then a cigarra found its way brisky to his lips as he enjoyed the reprieve. A Twi-lek seemed to be quite smitten with the gunslinger, offering him a suggestive look from across the bar. Kardek smirked and gave her a playful wink, then continued past her until he found Mia.

He witnessed the interaction between her and the Rodian, pausing for a moment until the man turned away, and then smoothly inserted himself between Mia and the flirt. He rested his forearms on the bar and leaned in slightly to Mia, speaking as softly as possible...

"Want me to kill him for you?" It was a jest, not intended to be taken seriously, but was a way to broach the topic if she was interested in sharing. She did seem tense.

Mia let out a bark of laughter and shook her head. "If I wanted him dead, he would be dead."

The bartender slid her the drinks and she pushed one into his palm, ordering two more to follow immediately. "Believe it or not, I'm not good with people. Mando'ade, mercs, soldiers we all have one thing in common and that's the fight. There's rules you learn, rules that people don't understand. Like don't touch me when I'm not expecting it, because you're like to end up with a broken something."

She raised her glass to him and downed it in one, collecting the second as it hit the bar. "I need to hit something." she told him.

Kardek listened quietly, closing his fingers around the offered drink and taking a sip. He understood. He had also struggled to relate to those who just did not understand that kind of life. As she downed her drink, he couldn’t help but smirk. Her comment about wanting to hit something was something he could also very much relate to.

“You know…”. He started, leaning a bit heavily against the bar as he shifted towards her, “We could start a fight.” He winked. “Get some of it out of your system. I do it all the time.” He scouted the patrons, looking for a good candidate, “just need to find some stuck up kriffer who has it coming…”. The gunslinger, finding his mark, smiled and nodded in the direction of a man who had just bullied a patron off of a stool that was next to some of his friends. “I mean, just look at this guy… so smug. He’s literally begging for it.” Kardek ran his hand through his hair, pushing it to one side, then followed Mia’s lead by downing the rest of the drink. “I’m a bad influence, but you probably already guessed as much.”

Mia followed Kardek's gaze, taking in the bully and his groups of friends. they were loud, even for the club, leering at the women and giving the bartenders a hard time. Mia was torn, start a fight, throw a few punches, try not to kill anyone and make a hasty exit. But bar brawls could get nasty...she could get nasty. While she liked Kardek's company, she also like the fact that aside from the fact that she was a formally dead woman call Mia, she was ultimately a mystery to him, and he to her.

"Seems almost unfair." she replied finally leaning "There's what...six of them and two of us. Three each. Too easy. Come on Kardek, you can do better then that, surely?" She turned to face the dancefloor, hoisting herself up to perch on the edge of the the bartop, ignoring the barkeeps protest. It gave her a head and shoulder view above everyone else, reaching into the private booths on the far side.

A wicked grin crossed her face as she spotted her mark, a group of mercs, likely bounty hunters, judging by the gear they carrie, who'd waylaid two of the waitresses and were holding them hostage. Not uncommon, but a major bugbear of Mia's. She patted the space on the bar next to her so Kardek could get up and see, nodding in their direction. "If I'm gonna punch something, I want it to have a good chance of punching me back, elsewise what's the point?"

He smirked as she thought his proposal over. Whatever her true occupation was, she could surely hold her own. But she seemed interested in raising the stakes, something that was a bit surprising to the gunslinger, yet he did find amusement in it. Tonight would surely be interesting.

He propped himself up beside her at her request, looking across the dance floor at some VIP lounges. As she pointed out the group of degenerates, he raised an eyebrow and stroked his chin, nodding slightly as if to say 'Not bad… not bad at all.'

"Well, I don't think you'll have to worry about that." He said, referring to the desire for them to fight back. These types would surely try to kill them as soon as they attempted to interfere with their business. "I don't know you or what you're capable of, but you're really picking a fight. I hope you know that."

He shrugged in kind of a 'what the hell, why not' kind of way as he slid off the bar and offered his hand to Mia in assistance of getting down, not that she needed it.

"I'll need to give Booskie a heads up. He owns the club. As long as these guys are up to real mischief he doesn't mind me cleaning up the place a bit." He didn't want to get on the clubs bad side after all. He did enjoyed the place.

And whether Mia could pick it up from his mannerisms or not, Kardek was not intending on going in to this with a light touch. These were experienced bounty hunters after all. He would go in with the intent to kill, because they would do the same.

Mia didn't need the hand down, but she accepted it. Refusing it at this point might show a lack of trust and she was about to get into a great deal of trouble with him so it was not the smartest move. Mia had met her fair share of bounty hunters over the decades, most were normally set on killing her, but the bounties that had been placed on her head were long since paid. Some of them did good work, some were her kin and then there were bounty hunters like this. always choosing to take their marks in cold, believing themselves better than others, entitled to whatever they could take.

"I've fought worse." she said with a shrug, she read all the signs that this would be a fight to kill and was utterly unbothered by it. The rodian had rattled her and taking it out on a group of loud mouthed children seemed unreasonable. Bounty hunter upsetting staff though? They would get what was coming. "Go, tell your friend. I promise I won''t start without you...actually, I might..."

With a wink she slipped back into the swelling mass of bodies on the dance floor between them and the booths.

She absolutely was not going to wait for him.

Kardek gave her a narrow glare, "Don't you dare get me in trouble with this place." He scolded, then parted ways with her and headed towards where he knew that the owner would be. He occasionally glanced back in Mia's direction, making sure she hadn't actually started up any mischief yet.

He had a quick exchange with the owner, pointing out the degenerates and was almost immediately given the green light to engage. Apparently he had been having an ongoing problem with the group. Perfect.

Kardek turned back around and started to head towards Mia's direction across the dance floor. He wondered who she was… he wondered if she was going to pull out a light saber… he wondered if she was a dark side user…. no... she DEFINITELY was a dark side user... A chill tingled down his spine. She had better keep herself under control. He had seen enough dark siders to know they could be rather unhinged.

Mia held up her hands in mock surrender at Kardek's scalding, slowing her trajectory just enough to give him time. She kept half an eye on him, and half an eye on the bounty hunters. One of the servers had been pulled into a trandoshan's lap, the fear in her face made her blood boil. Another glance in Kardek's and the owners direction, she caught the green light and saw him moving her way.

Mia shifted like a predator pausing, as she drew near the table to pretend to tie her laces, instead pulling the blade free from her boot. she was three paces away, when she let it fly as the trandoshan's hand reached for his drink. It found its mark, pinning the three fingered appendage to the table, he shout of pain was lost in the din of the club, but he released the server who scrambled away.

"Gentlemen," she greeted as she approached, seizing the blades handle and pulling it free. "I think you've over stayed your welcome."
