PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 58
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
  • Species: Human (Tepasi)
  • Appearance: Chief Emmen appears quite spry and well kept for his age. He has tanned skin and stands at 1.9m (6’3”), which is quite average for the Tepasi, and works hard to maintain his groomed appearance, even in privacy. At the age of 58, and despite the use of a walking cane, the Chief still manages to carry the same commanding posture he did in his younger years, along with a full head of shimmering, silver hair, with a neatly kept beard and mustache to boot. One of his most notable features are a series of facial scars he acquired during a transport vessel crash while serving in the Tepasi Defense Force; the same crash that resulted in his limp. Fortunately, the injuries were not overly grievous or disfiguring and over the years the bright pigment of the scars has faded, leaving only a few pale lines to decorate his face.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Emmen Maxim Tagge
  • Loyalties:
  • Wealth: The House of Tagge is [arguably] one of the oldest and most prestigious houses in the Core Worlds, dating back to the founding of the 1st Galactic Republic. As such, it has amassed exceptional wealth and influence over the tens of thousands of years. Despite the advantages this could give him, Emmen has always been driven to distance himself from the opulence of his family in favour of a more admirable & honest political career. Although his financial opportunities stem from having been born into money, his modern personal wealth is primarily the result of responsible wealth management and calculated investments.
  • Notable Possessions: Despite his wealth, Emmen does not have much in the way of singular, notable possessions. As a nobleman of Tagge he does have an assortment of finely tailored clothing and adornments, though he dresses modestly when compared to others of his House. His most prized possessions are his collection of historic texts and digital records of various scriptures and archeological studies. He is also in possession of an ornately designed mono-molecular rapier, which he often carries with him as nothing more than a ceremonial piece to proudly showcase his Tepasi heritage.
  • Skills: Having served as an officer with the Tepasi Defense Force in his early adulthood, Emmen remains familiar with the handling of standard firearms and the formal procedures of an armed forces environment. His expertise, however, has always been socializing and building relationships with those around him. Outside of these political and martial skills, Emmen is a relatively plain man. In his personal time he enjoys the study of history, mostly due to the vast records of his own family, which has made him quite knowledgeable of events long forgotten to most. Before his time in various political offices, he had also enjoyed investing time and money into the stock markets and various businesses throughout the Core Worlds and Colonies, but this hobby is no longer possible in his current position.
  • Personality: Emmen can be described as a modest and humble man for his stature. Unlike many who carry the Tagge name, the Chief has always sought to use his position of influence - whether as a wealthy individual or politician - to improve the lives of those he's able. The Tepasi-born human is known for showing compassion and empathy to those around him, with a genuine interest and enthusiasm in the stories people have to tell; from ancient folklore tales, to personal stories of success and perseverance. Interns and other bureaucrats of the Tepasi Administration have often remarked that Emmen felt sincere in his concerns and compliments, and that he was known to share drinks and meals with the members of his office to boost morale during times of political or personal struggles.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Although the Chief is keen to avoided personal combat at all costs, should the need arise his weapons of choice would either be a trusty handblaster or one-handed sword (a rapier preferably).
  • Combat Function: As the Chief of State, Emmen's primary objective, whether he approves or not, is expected to be self-preservation. This is not something that comes easy to him as a retired service member. If able to, Emmen would use his rudimentary knowledge of firearms or, less likely, his faded skills as a fencer to protect those around him. In ranged combat he would be roughly the equivalent of a recruit or average trooper in the army. However, in melee – specifically with a rapier-type weapon – he may be able to out maneuver those not adequately trained, so long as the limp in his right leg is not taken advantage of.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

latest
Grey Eminence
: Chief Emmen is respected among his peers in the House of Lords and well-regarded by politicians, bureaucrats and noblemen alike throughout the Alliance. His gentlemanly demeanor and willingness to invest himself in the causes he pursues have given him a successful public image, while simultaneously making him the bane of those who seek to destabilize or corrupt the systems the Tepasi-born noble values most.

Groomed
: While he doesn't actively flaunt his heritage, there is no denying the advantages of carrying the Tagge name. Thousands of generations of wealth and success stand behind him. It is said that the House of Tagge are among the Founding Fathers of the 1st Galactic Republic, and their influence and power throughout the Core Worlds, Colonies and Expanse are undeniable. Without any intention, simply bearing the surname of Tagge can command respect and authority to some within those regions.

Midas Touched
: Naturally, there are those who oppose the idea of an aristocrat holding office. Those who do not know Emmen's story or pay attention to his actions sometimes assume him to be nothing more than a run-of-the-mill billionaire nobleman. Some members of the lower economic classes of Imperial opposition can be quick to dismiss him as being uncaring or oblivious to the struggles of the commonfolk.

Scarred
: Despite his kind personality, Emmen's facial scars can be off-putting at first sight. In addition, the limp in his right leg makes his movements sluggish, taking away from his once graceful movements. Although he is often able to move without the need for one, he often chooses to use a cane for convenience and comfort.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Born to the illustrious House of Tagge on the forest world of Tepasi, Emmen Maxim Tagge wanted for nothing in during his upbringing. Surrounded by exuberant wealth and deeply rooted noble customs, the young boy grew tired of the lifestyle by his early teens, longing for something new. At the age of 16, against the demands of his parents, Emmen joined the Officers Academy for the Tepasi Defense Force. It was here that he learned to understand and respect the commonfolk, surprisingly finding a sense of joy in the the grim truths he'd learn throughout his decade long military career, including two tours through the local systems of the Colonies.

Unfortunately, his service was ended unexpectedly following injuries sustained when his transport craft crashed during a skirmish with insurgent forces on Ralltiir. He survived with minimal long-term harm, aside from some scars and damage to his right hip. Surprisingly, despite his access to immense funds and advanced medical procedures, Emmen chose to wear the old wounds as a badge of honour for choosing to follow his desire for change, despite the warnings, and proudly accepting the consequences of it.

It was during his recovery that he discovered his passion for history, and through these stories of the ancient Empires and Republics of old, an interest in the the social intricacies of politics. When he finally escaped the hospital, he committed to pursuing this passion completely. His reputation carried him far on its own, but it was his natural gift for getting along with people that eventually lead to him being elected as the High Lord of Tepasi upon it's inauguration into the Grayson Imperium in 859 ABY.

As the representative for his world on a far grander scale, Emmen continued to win the respect of his fellow Lords through his willingness to invest himself in their troubles and concerns, even in his personal time. With such a reputation, it was of no real surprise when he found himself chosen when the House of Lords was forced to initiate an emergency vote to take the helm of their nation following the Lord-Imperator's defeat at the Battle of Vuultin on Brentaal IV. With the Declaration of Incapacity and the signing of the Common Charter, Chief Emmen Maxim Tagge now humbly serves the many people of the Core Worlds as the 1st Chief of State for the Core Federation of Free Alliances.
