Cheeseburger in Paradise

“I was sort of going to rob the casino vault…” Damian said gripping a little tighter as they moved in towards the cruise ship. “I mean I changed my mind, but I arranged for there to be a communication blackout, and I have the security cylinder to get me into the vault.” He took another deep breath, “and the cave I showed you, if you go up the stairs you will find my getaway ship.” There he’d filled her in on all the assets in play.

“Now follow my lead,” The ship arrived at the docking bay and Damian got off the wave skimmer limping a little. The damage wasn’t that bad, but he really played it up. Pirate, manifest in hand, rounded up the two. blasters poked Damian in the back as they moved them towards the theatre. Made sense really, there was plenty of seating and only two entrance and exits for the corralled guests, and a man in the holo projection booth could cover the entire thing. As the door opened a man jumped at the pirate and received a blaster to the shoulder for his effort.

Damian moved between the pirate and the shot man before indicating Kana Truden, “My name is Chuck Finley,” he said aloud, “I am a minority transfer student at the Bothan Medical institute and this is Iara Klane a doctor. I’m apprenticing other her and she’s my guest on this trip.” he explained away her lack of identity on the manifest, ”If I don’t deal with these injuries this man will die.”

The pirate looked over at him, “Then he dies, now sit down.”

“Look, I’m just trying to keep these people calm. If people start dying they will fight back. Let them know you aren’t going to hurt them if they cooperate…”

Another pirate came over. The leader obviously as he had the biggest hat. “What is going on here?”

Damian stepped forward, “I am trying to keep people calm by helping this man. I am a medical student.” Damian took a deep sigh, “Everyone stays calm and you get what you want quicker.”

“Alright, you heal him.” He said with a frown. “Now lets go…” And the pirates moved out leaving only a few guards at the exits and one on overwatch.

Damian kneeled down over the man and frowned. “Field dressing,” he said with a frown. “Okay Iara,” he said to [member="Kana Truden"], “I am going to need to get out of here. Can you keep these people calm?”

A robbery on the casino. Kana wanted to question the wisdom in robbing something belonged to his father but with her own record of paternal issues there was little she could do but at least try to sympathize. It felt as odd to let it slide, in a sense she didn’t and if anything she would bring it up at another opportunity. A pirate attack was, however, not such an opportunity.

Head bobbing back and forth in acknowledgement she followed along with [member="Damian Starchaser"]’s plan for getting out of this mess and saving the day. Not that the prospect of saving the day looked particularly well when one of the men took a blaster shot to his shoulder for playing the hero. She sat down with the others. There was the urge within her to utilize the force but if there was one thing that lectures about Order 66 had taught her it was that Jedi died just as easily as anyone else.

“I got this, Chuck.” Kana grabbed Damian before he could leave. There was legitimate worry within her. This could end really bad. “Just be careful, I don’t want to see you dead, okay?”

Kneeling down over the injured man she rubbed her hands together to get warm.

“Just stay calm, okay?” She turned to give Damian one last look of worry. “Doc Iara will get you back to normal before you know it.”

Now, what was the way to do this without the Force again?

Damian took a deep breath. Calm, Kana had said calm was key for a Jedi. At least that is how Damian heard it. Calm was also useful, calm confidence could get you where even keys and forged identifications can’t. So Damian walked straight out the door of the theatre and onto the ship…

“Hey, where are you going?” A Pirate said stepping up and giving pursuit. There was two guards, one of them was sipping from a canteen. Good.

In a hostage situation any idiot could get a gun and start shooting. All that would do is get hostages killed. “I’m going to get medical supplies,” Damian replied.

“No,” the pirate said, “You aren’t. You are going back into that threater and staying put. No one leaves the theater.”

“Your boss said to help the wounded,” Damian shot back.

“He didn’t say you could leave…..”

“You want to go and ask him?” Damian shot back immediately. Pirates weren’t the most forgiving people and a captain generally ruled by fear. “If I don’t stop the bleeding and properly bandage that wound the man in there is going to die… I need to get to the medbay.”

“You can’t leave this deck!” The pirate demanded.

“Okay then let me go to my room, its on this deck. I have a basic medkit.”

“Make it quick.” The pirate said.

Damian started walking towards his room, the guard following close behind. He could have taken the man then and there but what then? Hostages would have been in danger. Before reaching his room he crossed the concourse. There was multiple restaurants, he stopped at one of them and started to heat some water from a portable unit. “Wait for the water to finish…” he said. The pirate ignored him and followed him. Damn. Finally he reached his room just around the corner and went in keeping the door open to hear when the water is done and pulled out the little medkit from storage under his bed. “This is only good enough to treat some bruises and scrapes,” he said. He thought in his head. “I’m going to need to go to to the bar and grab some things. Liquor to disinfect and some towels for bandages”

“No,” the pirate said. “You only need to go here you say.”

Damian let out a sigh, “You have armoured guards with blasters at the ready guarding at all the exists. What am I going to do, fight off all of them with some bandages and a bottle of liquor?” The pirate opened his mouth to speak when Damian heard the water pot go off signalling it was ready. “Water is ready.”

The pirate grumbled a little and went off. Damian waited for him to be out of sight before accessing his slick and getting the code cylinder. He would need that to override his com blackout. Taking a deep breath he then saw a hint of silver over his bed. A lightsaber… his hand reached out and he grabbed the weapon putting it into the bag underneath some other equipment with the code cylinder.

He then peeked his head and and crouching low moved to the bar. A few bar towels and some liquor were quickly proffered before he saw vials of Elixir of infatuation… he took one and laughed a little to himself.

Sticking low he snuck towards the entrance again. The pirate was getting back with the bowl of water, but didn’t see him. Good. “Where is the apprentice doc?” the man pirate guarding said.

“Poodo.” The pirate with the bowl said putting the bowl onto the ground. “Go find him,” The pirate with the bowl said before walking into the theatre to deliver the bowl to [member="Kana Truden"].

With both guards out of sight and Damian looked into his bag. He took out two bottles of pills. Uppers and downers mixxed with god knows what in his flask. Never a good idea. He smiled as he opened up the top and placed the two pills inside to dissolve with a tiny amount of elixir.

Then he moved over to where the pirates were keeping bags of equipment. He opened one up and looked. Vault cracking equipment. He smiled as he tampered with the locking collar of the air hammer. Then he gathered up his goods and stood up walking into the theater. “What took you so long?” the Pirate asked upon seeing him.

“I was just…” he never answered the question as the pirate smashed the handle of his blaster pistol into the side of Damians head knocking him to the ground. A little blood seeped out of the wound. the pirate merely looked smug and left….

He didn’t say anything but instead got up and walked over to the patient. “This is for the pain,” he handed over some pills. He took out the liquor and poured it onto the wound eliciting a painful moan. “Iara,” he said to Kana, “can you get me the bacta patches on the bottom of my bag…” he wanted to show her the lightsaber...

Time seemed to come to a halt. To expose herself as a jedi wouldn’t serve her well at all. If anything it would make her a target. Her eyes wandered across the room to spot the senator she had arrived with. As much as the man was a despicable man she still had to look after him for the Order’s sake.

It didn’t take much to spot him, the one man at the back of the room looking to set her on fire with his eyes. At least he was alive and she could set her focus on the injured man again. Stable but wincing, the man could take it but to leave the wound untreated came at the risk of infection, it always did. She rubbed her hands together and placed them on the wound. She may not be able to fix the wound in the matter of a minute, but she could definitely alleviate the pain.

“H-how’d you do that?” The man asked in shock.

“Uh, er, an old family trick.” Kana scratched the back of her neck. “Usually doesn’t work though.”

“I guess, I guess I’m some kind of lucky then.” The man slumped to the floor.

“I guess so.” Kana sighed in relief. The lie held.

The wait for [member="Damian Starchaser"]’s return grew unbearable. For each passing second the facade of being a doctor grew more hard to keep up. The looks of people had her looking at her outfit again. The exposed midriff still made her feel weird, the looks on her abs and/or chest even more so.

Then the signature of Damian grew closer, the butt of the pirate’s gun even more so as her hand reached up to cover the side of her head. That pain had been there, it felt real but it was Damian who had taken the hit. No sooner than it came it was gone.

“Are you okay?” She grabbed onto the kid as he walked over to her. “What was that?”

“Oh, bacta patches, you got it.” She looked into the bag and found her saber. She couldn’t grab it with the lack of ways to conceal it.

Her voice turned into a whispering hiss. “What’s the plan here, kid? I know my way with a saber, but I have no way of hiding it in this.” She lightly motioned at her midriff. “Please tell me there is a plan.”

Damian took a deep breath and concentrated on the task ahead. The plan, right there was a plan in place. Well kind of. “I got the lightsaber,” he said steadily. He looked around the crowd. There was a chance he could get a jacket off one of the other pampered teens around. That didn’t matter now though. Instead he pulled out some of the towels that had been gathered and folded one up putting the lightsaber in the folds. Easy to get to if he needed it. He made a show of fluffing up the tower and putting underneath the shoulder of the man who was wounded.

The security officer looked at him and nodded in simple understanding. “So now,” he said looking around. “These pirates are going to have an accident. There is a sensor on the vault which throws up a shield if there is any lasers detected so they are using an air hammer to break through into the locking mechanism. I sabotaged that, when they go to use it it will shoot the hammer out and hopefully injure one of the pirates.” He looked over at Kana carefully. “When that happens they will ask for me.” Or Kana… they might want a proper doctor and not an apprentice for one of their own. “They have a liquid Carbonite gun for busting up locks and such. I’ll ask for that to cauterize the wound and try to maneuver it so I can spray into the barrel of one of their guns with it. The thing will blow up when they go to shoot it…”

Damian took a deep breath, “While I handle the guards at the vault there is a guard out there. I drugged him. He’ll get dizzy and start feeling sick. In a weakened state there is very little he can do to defend himself, put a little pressure on his carotid artery and he’ll be out solid in about four seconds. You can claim he went into some sort of seizure, passed out. They won’t let us up to the infirmary for a hostage but for one of their own… probably.” Damian hoped, he had to hope. “I got a code Cylinder in the bottom of the bag. If we can plug it into a terminal at the med station we can unlock the communications blackout and get help.”

It was a lot to take in and hoped [member="Kana Truden"] understood.

Her eyes widened in surprise at the mention of not getting her saber back immediately. Even more so when it was wrapped into a towel. That was her weapon, her tool, her life. Granted, such thoughts had not crossed her mind in the cave, but at the the time she hadn’t exactly felt the need to use it. Hindsight was a hell of a thing.

Then the plan. Accidents, sensors against lasers and an air hammer that was sabotaged to malfunction. They would call for a doctor, hopefully it would be [member="Damian Starchaser"]. Though she had to admit the idea that they’d call for the man who claimed to be her assistant felt unlikely but she could still try her best at it. Just point one of the ends at the man’s weapon and hope for the best.

Then it all ended in a squeeze at the man’s neck and then take him hostage.

“I, uh…” Kana hesitated. “It’s a very elaborate plan, but I will try my best.”

“Just be careful, Damian. Always be careful.” It was the start of yet another overprotective relationship. Except this time with a kid who may not even come with her, should things go very wrong. “And don’t you dare lose my saber or you will find yourself at the wrong end of my temper.”

She chuckled nervously. She really liked that saber. “Go, I’ll ready myself for what comes next.”

The last time someone had shown any sort of concern about him was, well his grandfather. Damian smiled at the thought of Kana caring. “If I were careful I would have turned around gotten on the shuttle I had hiding on that island and gotten off this planet.” He shrugged and leaned in to Kana with a smile, “But I appreciate it nonetheless.”

His hand inadvertently went to the saber as Kana mentioned it. “Nothing will happen, but if we show that card… well how do you think these people will react?” He nodded to the guards overlooking their position. He opened his mouth to speak when suddenly a pirate bursted in.

“We need the Doc,” the Pirate declared. Damian started to stand, “No, the real doctor.” Damian frowned. Well that was dumb of him. He wasn’t used to including people in his cover ID and so hadn’t planned for this.

“Remember get him to apply pressure to the wound, and sabotage his blaster…” Damian started to rummage through the bag and took out some pills. “Sedatives, knock the wounded man out… People will take anything a doctor gives them, trust me.” Damian palmed the code cylinder and handed the bag to Kana. “Doctor Iara… you be careful too…”

Damian was suddenly very nervous for the woman. He’d wanted to go in and do the sabotage himself, where the risk of being discovered was greater. He had to trust Kana, despite not having training she WAS a Jedi….

[member="Kana Truden"]

The logic in the kid’s word was irrefutable. If the lightsaber came into play too early they’d be faced with some serious problems yet no sooner than the instrument came to be discussed did the pirates break back into the theater. The moment of truth, who would they pick? Time stopped as the finger pointed at Kana.

“Pressure to wound, sabotage blaster. Sedatives, got it.”

She took a deep breath and followed the pirate. Never had hallways felt as long as they did in that moment. Step for step upon the soft carpet had her going over the plan. Sabotage the blaster, apply wound and give the sedatives. That felt about as right as she could make it. Memory failed her yet here they were approaching the vault door.

What was it about drills, vaults and breaking down?

“What’s wrong?” Kana feigned cluelessness.

A voice called out in the background. “Drill’s jammed! Somebody’s gotta fix it!”

“Freaking thing just exploded on me!”

“Uh, oh, okay. Just calm down and-” Kana rooted around in the bag at her hip. “Take these.”

She handed him the pills. “Your injuries don’t seem as bad as they could be, just chew on a few of those and you should be homefree.”

She really wished she had her lightsaber right about now. This entire situation would have been so much easier if she had, she wasn’t built for this kind of situation. The lies, the deception and the total messing up of plans. She was a head-on type of gal, an honest fighter. Not someone who hid in deception like this, it didn’t fit her.

“What’s wrong with him?” The blaster-wielding pirate would ask as his injured friend slumped to the ground from the pills. “What did you do?!”

The blaster was raised in Kana’s face. “Oh, uh,” She waved her hand in his face. “You don’t want to shoot me.”

“I don’t want to shoot you.”

“You want to lower your gun.”

The mind trick worked and the man lowered his gun. “I want to lower my gun.”

Without much further notice her fist quickly connected to the man’s face in a right hook gone wrong.

And then the other part of this post never happened because stuff, Kana needed to help the injured man at the medbay. Leading him that way was super good for that.

Damian continued to tend to the wounded man looking up at the door occasionally. He frowned when Kana had been gone and no one came to ask for help. Maybe the guard has gone to where Kana was? They asked for her at the vault, so maybe he went to her instead of him. Damian resisted the urge to bite his nail. Everything was falling apart and suddenly he felt some panic.

That was until the pirate came in, “Hey in the Doc here?”

“They took her to someone else injured,” Damian said. Next time he was going to pretend to be a child prodigy and Kana could be the apprentice. “But I can help. I can deal with most things…”

“Well,” the pirate said a little nervous. He was sweating and fatigued from the drugs. “Okay I suppose.”

Damian gathered up the various medical supplies onto a tower and looking up grabbed the lightsaber placing it in the towel before wrapping it up. He stood up and walked outside with the Pirate. “Over here,” he said maneuvering the pirate to an alcove away from the other guard. He set the bag down on a desk and looked straight into the pirate's eyes. “I just need to take your pulse,” he said reaching his hand up.

“Just taking your pulse…” he said as the pirate seemed to get nervous. His hand wrapped around the man's throat and pinched at the artery. The pirate tried to fire his blaster “Just taking your pulse…” Damian said shooting his hand up and jamming his finger in behind the blasters trigger. The pirate squeezed hard on the trigger cutting Damian's finger before finally blacking.

“Oh no,” Damian said aloud. The other Pirate darted over in time to see him collapse. “He’d had some sort of seizure, I need to get him to the medbay.” The Pirate trained his weapon on Damian as he knelt down precarious close to his fellows fallen blaster. Damian instead lifted the pirate hoisting him up. Damian started to walk with the man dangling over his shoulders.

“Alright,” the pirate said stepping up to help Damian. Damn. He cursed his small frame as the Pirate helped him.

It only took a few minutes to get to the ship's Infirmary and place the man on the bed. Kana should be here… Damian frowned as he started to examine the man. “Hey can you grab that scanner,” He said to the operational pirate while pretending to be doing a thorough examination. “No,” he said looking back, “To the right.” The Pirate put the blaster down and rummaging through the equipment.

Damian used this opportunity. He bent his knees lowering him under the mans peripheral line of sight and slowly moved closer. “Almost there,” he said encouraging the pirates search. Then he struck. He lept into the air and came down hard on the back of the man's leg sending him to the ground. If he had a knife he’d have controlled the head and stabbed at the base of the skull along the spinal cord. But there was no knife, and he doubted Kana would have approved. Instead he jumped and wrapped his legs around the mans torso and arms around the neck in a choke hold….

The pirate started to fight back standing up and slamming his back, and Damian, into a wall. Still Damian had taken him by surprise and it only took a few minutes before he fell backward and was knocked out….

“Where are you Kana….” Damian said pushing the heavy body off of him...

[member="Kana Truden"]

Dragging her feet, dragging someone else by the feet, what was the difference? The man was injured and there was a medbay. Had things been just a little bit different maybe Kana would have been forced to use the man as a cover. She had quite clearly been dragging him down the ship’s corridor in an effort to get him to the medbay. Nobody had seen her, miraculously enough but that didn’t stop her from trying.

The closer to the medbay she got the more obvious the sound of struggle got. Worry seeped into her mind, not her worry but someone else. Was Damian in danger? She looked at the body she had been dragging. The medbay was right there, but that closet right next to her was also right there.

Eyes darting back and forth she chucked the unconscious pirate into the broom closet and locked the door with a nearby metal cane. It would have to do, Damian could be in real danger and that wasn’t exactly what she had planned for today. Then again, her plans for today hadn’t involved pirates in the first place either.

“Damian, are you okay?” She blurted as she burst into the medbay. “What’s up with that guy?”

Quick check of his pulse said he was alive. “Well, he’s not dead, that’s a good start. What do we do now, Mister Superspy?”

[member="Damian Starchaser"]

Damian smiled as he looked up from his back at [member="Kana Truden"]. “No he isn’t dead,” Damian looked around the infirmary standing up. “But we should probably drug him to keep him out.” Scanning the room he found a little shot and gave it to the man to keep him asleep. Damian then picked up the bundled towel and opened it up on a tabletop. “Your lightsaber,” he said sliding the small cylinder over to Kana.

He took out the code cylinder. “And now I’ll stop the com blackout.” He Inserted the code cylinder into the socket pulling it out and in, adjusting it to the hole. “If I can just…” he twisted, turned, pulled and jerked at the device. “And there…” he said as the communications came back online. The automated distress signal sent.

“We need to protect the hostages now…” Damian said picking up a blaster. “There is a chance the pirates take out their frustration on them.” He started to think about the various scenarios. “There are two entrances to the Theater where all the hostages are, but the real concern is the projector room. It overlooks everything.” He quickly field stripped the blaster, “I think if I can get there I can cover the entrances, and you can use that glowstick to cover another entrance. Still,” He shook his head, “I don’t want to have to shoot down into that room... “ Looking over Kana he then asked, “Think we can take them silently.

Drug the guy, just like she had to the guy in the broom closet. Problem being that broom closets, or janitor’s closets as some called them, were only so rare and far between. Sedatives. Kana had to find sedatives.

“Look, Damian, I am not used to this kind of thing.” She rubbed her forehead in an effort to remember the names of drugs to use. “I have never been good at snea- I GOT IT!

Her near-shout of an outburst should have been proof of that. Quickly she scoured the room for cupboards and shelves for meds. More specifically the SedaStims but those were never where you last saw them. She had probably lost track of how many times sedation had been skipped at times.

Not that she needed them. The force worked for that too after all.

“If you want a distraction, I can cause a distraction.” She uncovered the protective plastic lid and promptly jacked the needle into the unconscious man’s body. “This is the most sneaking I have done in six years combined. I do healing, at times I navigate my ship but that’s it.”

“I've participated in stealth missions, risked everyone's lives both times.”

“So are you absolutely sure this is something we can do?”

[member="Damian Starchaser"]

“Just be careful,” Damian said. “I don’t want anything to happen to the hostages,” there was a pause as he started to rummage through the medbay looking for… well whatever. “Ten minutes for a quick reaction force to get here.” Using the code cylinder he pulled up the footage from the vault. The Pirates were just breaking through into the main vault which still left the deposit boxes themselves. “Good, maybe a few boxes will get stolen, but if they try for a legit haul security will be there to capture them all. Unfortunately their only play to keep breaking open boxes for booty is to use the hostages as leverage.”

Damian picked up the blaster and switched it over to stun. He trusted his aim but in a hostage situation… “Lets go…”

And go they did. Damian moved with a purpose. The guards at the one entrance had been neutralized already giving him a clear path to the projector room which overlooked the theater where the hostages were being kept. “You have your lightsaber now. Go on in and work your way to one of the entrances. Once I start shooting they will burst in to see what's going on. Neutralize the thread. I’ll lock the door and provide cover from the high point.”
.
And then he walked away. Up the stairs he crept concentrating on the task at hand. The door opened and imediatly he fired twice sending small circles of blue into the two pirates on overwatch. He ran through the door slamming it behind him and smashing the controls before looking out into the theater. “Everyone down,” he yelled as the proximity alarms started going off. Reinforcements had arrived. Aiming at a door he fired just as pirates burst through disabling two of them.

[member="Kana Truden"]

There was a small excited smile on Kana’s lips as she reached to grab her saber. It just felt right to have it again. It felt less right to still be strutting around in the wetsuit from earlier, but all within good time. As long as Damian wasn’t getting used to seeing her in this it was all good. Four percent here and there, she liked her clothes baggy enough, but not robe-baggy.

She was going off on a tangent. With a nod she cautiously parted ways with the boy. She was the welcoming party to Damian’s party invitation. A safekeeper of hostages if they wanted to get fancy with the titles. At least her role wasn’t as sneaky-sneaky as it could have been. Just guard the door. She took cover around the corner, listening and sensing any potential pirates.

The alarms went off and before they knew it the air filled with lingering panic and frustration as heavy footsteps rapidly made way for their hostages. Her saber ignited. A blue plasma blade erupted from the tiny handle. A few shocked gasps echoed in the audience, had the jedi smuggled a weapon on-board? She most certainly had!

As the two pirates incapacitated by Damian fell to the floor Kana broke her cover and swiftly pushed another two to the ground. Yet another gasp erupted as the jedi once more proved her cover as a doctor was only somewhat close to the truth.

Stepping back into a defensive stance she deflected the occasional stray bolt that came her way. Which didn’t really mean much when the practitioner in question had specialized in pretty much anything but.

Still, she was just one woman. While a display of skill would be undoubtedly cool for the young ones, she eventually had to start backing off towards the hostages. If Damian had a shot, now would be a good time to take it.

[member="Damian Starchaser"]

Pirates were already coming in through the Entrance Kana had chosen. That was good, she had that covered, Damian would instead look to the opposite entrance. He trained his blaster at the entry and fired multiple times down range as soon as he saw a pirate. Little blue circles flew down striking pirates and sending them to the ground. Good, let them trip over their comrades.

“Everyone stay down,” Damian sang as he fired the blaster again.

Another pirate and another blast. He shifted his fire away from the door and fired at the other entrance. [member="Kana Truden"] was… well she was okay right now. It was an impressive display of acrobatics and… flexibility. No, now wasn’t the time to get mesmerized. Inappropriate.

“Kana,” he called, “Behind you,” Red bolts poured down on Kana’s position and Damian took aim and fired. They were coming from everywhere now. Kana started to back up and Damian pulled his rifle over and aimed down at the targets there. His finger twitched over the fire selector as he considered switching from stun to kill. They deserved whatever they had coming to them, but in the end he kept the stun setting on and fired.

Good, Kana was safe, only a few left on the ground. Damian sighed a little sigh of relief as he heard the first blasters hit against the door behind him. Little red bolts penetrated the metal and flashed through and out of the projector room. Damian jumped to the side just in time and measured up his own shot. Doors and their frames on ships were more armored than the bulkheads and so he took careful aim, switched his blaster kill, and fired twice through the wall. He heard the groan of the man as he struck and the cries for help. Damian didn’t get to smile long however as he heard the sound of explosives being prepped for breach. “aww crap,” he said turning to the opening in the projector room. He barely fit through the window, squeezing himself.

Damian had only just cleared the room when the blast erupted sending fire and debris out the window. His bloody leg was scorched now as well. He leaned down and poked in through the window firing his blaster several times at the pirates. In reaction the scum retreated back out of the room and retreated.

That wouldn’t last forever though. Damian started looking to see where he could go and… damn… One of the pirates turned from behind the door with a rocket in his arms. Damian jumped away down to the theater as the rocker fired and struck the wall he had been hiding behind.

The blast threw the lad across the room and he landed hard on the ground… Security forces were moving in now, mopping up the pirates. Damian fought the closing of his eyes and stared up as Kana came over to him. He smiled up at her and reached a hand up to grab the back of her head and pull her close to him. “Can I really be a Jedi?” he asked as his concussion knocked him cold….

Damian awoke some time later in the med bay…

Blasters, explosions and an unconscious [member="Damian Starchaser"]. His warnings had been heeded and the pirates incapacitated as the security forces had secured the area. The occasional bitter yet thankful stare passed her way as she rushed over to her new friend. Was he good enough to be a jedi?

“Yes, Damian. Yes.” The caring words were probably lost on him as he passed out in her arms. Careful not to drop the kid she asked for the help of the others to lead him to the medbay. He was okay, out cold but okay. Dumping him onto the cushioned metal slabs that counted as a doctor’s table she wasted no time in getting to work. There were cuts on his leg, on his finger and a gash at the side of his head that all needed to be cleaned.

It was the easy part, disinfectant and swabs to clear it out and avoid infection. She knew the burn it caused, the people around the temple had been upfront with her about that many times before and quite loudly so.

‘You are going to be okay, Damian.’ It wasn’t much reassurance and frankly she didn’t know if her message would be received or not on the other end but for what it was worth it reassured Kana in her work and just that felt like a victory in itself.

The second stage was to apply the bacta gel and slowly but steadily focus herself on fixing the wounds. It was no miracle cure, she couldn’t magically seal a wound but she knew how to accelerate the healing process and with the aid of the bacta it wouldn’t prove as taxing as it could have. That’s not to say it wasn’t exhausting when you add in all the strain she had been under with the pirates and the hostages.

Eventually the kid woke up. They were alone in the room at her insistence. In reality it was an excuse for her to dim the lights off and nod off. She still hadn’t washed the grime out of her face, her hair was a mess and she was still wearing that horrible white wetsuit she had been given. Difference being that at this point the addition of the color red, Damian’s blood, had joined the mix.

Disgracefully limp in her chair her head arched back as her jaw forced her mouth open. She wasn’t snoring, but she wasn’t far from it either. Sometimes, or well most times, she simply didn’t care what she looked like. Especially not while asleep.

Sasha Santhe put on her best smile as she walked into the medbay. The boy was barely awake and [member="Kana Truden"] was also halfway into a nod herself. Sasha walked in and smiled putting a hand on the boys thread. It was strange how much he looked like Marek. “You’re doing well?” she asked as Damian opened his eyes and looked up at her. “Shhh don’t talk, there is no need.”

Turning to Kana she then said, “Thank you Jedi Master,” and gave way to a little bow. “My name is Sasha Santhe, my company made this ship for Brightstar.” Her smile was the type that had won her many paparazzi followings. “You two are real heroes… You saved all of our lives.”

Her mood suddenly grew much more somber, “[member="Marek Starchaser"] told me it would be a good way to transfer some tech schematics on the down low. Putting them in this vault.” Face turning to the floor she knelt to one knee prostrating herself before Kana. “I’m so sorry, it appears the pirates were after those schematics. They were the only thing taken from the vault.” Sasha looked up to stare Kana in the eyes. “If these Schematics were to get out…. get into the wrong hands.” She frowned letting Kana’s imagination go wild, “They are highly confidential and they need to be recovered….”

Damian stirred as he looked up and saw Sasha Santhe… he had holos of her and now there she was bikini clad. “Of course we’ll help…” he said dreamy eyes and concussed. He sat up with a great struggle, “We have to help,” he said suddenly confident. “A Jedi Master and her Padawan,” His eyes met Kana and a pleasing expression formed on his face. “We can do this…” a slight pause heralded the next word, “Master.” [member="Kana Truden"] sat there and Damian smiled at her. They could do this...

Her slumber was cut short by the sound of someone’s voice talking to her patient. The unmistakable prolonged inhale of someone who was forced out of a much needed slumber called throughout the room. A black haired, seemingly bikini clad woman was there thanking them for a good job. “All in a day’s work.” Kana chuckled as she burrowed her face in the palm of her hands. Her eyelids weighed heavy as her breathing followed a slower rhythm for each passing exhale. It was all cut short, again, as the woman knelt down in front of her.

Cute girl, how old was she? Didn’t matter, she seemed the kind of woman who was kind as long as it benefitted her, call it the air about her. Kana was far too tired to truly care. Talks of schematics passed right by her. What could happen? Her mind could have thought of something had it been working properly.

At least [member="Damian Starchaser"] seemed keen enough to help her, whoever she was. Wait, did he say Master? Her head turned to give the boy a curious look. A quick adapter, how interesting.

“Right, I guess we could help her.” The ‘master’ looked back at [member="Sasha"] Sante. “As you can tell, my young friend over there is keen on helping you Miss... You.” Names were beyond her at this stage. “What do you have on them?”

“Miss Santhe,” she said with a nod. “Sasha Santhe….” She spared a look over at Damian Starchaser batting her lashes and smiling. “I believe this is part of a larger scheme. On Lianna some weapons components were stolen, there is already an agent on the case. But I don’t have anyone to put to field against these pirates. If you’re willing,” she shrugged. “Santhe Security, the local security force. They have information on these pirates. I beg you, I don’t want these schematics to fall into the wrong hands. If they do, many innocent lives could be lost.”

Her head lowered a little, “But for now, you should both rest.”
