Public Character of the Month - June 2026 - Nominations

Hello all!

Character of the Month here, June is nearly at an end and I am only somewhat melting in this UK heatwave. Looking forward to seeing the nominations this month and seeing what stories have been grabbing people's attention as well as seeing what characters are really standing out this month.

Rules are as following:

  • Nominate a character that is not of your writing that has impressed you in the last month.
  • Give the reasons why.
    • Please include thread links for others to see why you love the character so much.
  • You may nominate someone that has already been nominated, they will be listed once in the voting stage and the reasons combined into one.
  • This is for In Character stuff.
  • During the nomination step, you must ask the winner a question for your nomination to count. Yes, that means in this thread, along with the nomination also put a question for the eventual winner, ya scamp.
  • During the voting, please limit yourselves to one vote.
  • Character must have been active in the last month to qualify, would be great if you would keep it to the last months exploits too.
  • Characters can only win once.
  • Please do not nominate Staff.
  • One week to nominate. Approximately.

* Character may not reign as Character of the Month for an exact month. You will live.

Will state this again here: You MUST ask a question. The last few months, people seem to keep forgetting that and then their nominations don't count.

Let's see who will join our previous winners: Lodd Grimmin Lodd Grimmin | Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen | Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr | Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania | Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze | Darth Caedes Darth Caedes | Roman Vossari Roman Vossari | Naamino Zuukamano Naamino Zuukamano | Micah tol Powl Micah tol Powl | Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik | Lorn Reingard Lorn Reingard | Her Her | Azurine Varek Azurine Varek | Darth Anathemous Darth Anathemous | The Madclaw The Madclaw | Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor | Xeykard Xeykard | Koda Fett Koda Fett | Aiden Porte Aiden Porte | Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound | Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade | Madrona A’Mia Madrona A’Mia | Adelle Bastiel Adelle Bastiel | Bastila Sal-Soren Bastila Sal-Soren | Reina Daival Reina Daival | Varin Mortifer Varin Mortifer

Happy nominations and enjoy the rest of June!

I would like to nominate Revna Marr Revna Marr , lately her writing has slowed down but when she does write you can not only see what is going on clearly but feel it at times. Conflict, stress, cold calculation and the wisdom that was earned throughout her travels. A Knight Among Sith has been my go to read. The thread definitely highlights what I see in her writing.

Question: what is your characters routine when it comes to downtime? Do they even have downtime?

I would love to nominate Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound . He's writing has been nothing short of just addicting to read, especially with the development of the character. Remnants has been a very good one to read about dealing with consequences and trying to make some form of amends. You can definitely tell he has been through the ringer.

Sorry to let you know but Acier has already won COTM, he was in the list of previous winners. You can definitely nominate someone else if you want or another character of Acier's!

I'd like to nominate Braze Braze for Character of the Month.

Over the last month, Braze has continued to impress me because of how consistently human he feels. He isn't written as a perfect Jedi, nor as someone who always has the right answer. Instead, he's a character who struggles, learns, grows, and keeps moving forward despite his mistakes. That makes his victories feel earned and his interactions feel genuine.

What stands out most is how naturally he develops relationships with the people around him. Whether he's helping others, being helped himself, or simply trying to figure things out, there's an authenticity to his writing that makes every thread feel engaging. He manages to be hopeful without being naïve and determined without being arrogant, which is a balance that is surprisingly difficult to maintain.

One thread that especially stood out to me was:

https://www.starwarsrp.net/threads/the-measure-of-a-friend.206465/

The thread does an excellent job showcasing Braze's character through his interactions and demonstrates why he's become such a memorable presence on the board.

My question for Braze:

If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice at the beginning of your Jedi journey, what would it be?

I don't think characters should be excluded from being re-nominated for COTM. I don't think that is fair. If people think someone has written or roleplayed something again to be worthy of nomination (even if they had won it previously) then they should be allowed to be voted on.

As for my nomination I would like to nominate Ala Quin Ala Quin .

Bran has been involved in so many interesting, dynamic stories in THR that it would take me all day to describe them all to justify this nomination. The Vanguard story / Jedi schism, the Lorn break up, the stuff that he has been writing with me and others about my character, and how he keeps providing good roleplay for the faction (with Ala) makes him a worthy candidate for nomination!

Question: Do you have an idea of how your character has an ending?

Characters only being allowed to win once has always been the way that CotM has been done. I believe in this rule since it prevents same characters being nominated and winning. Denying the chance to expand opportunities to other writers and characters from being nominated and recognised.

You need to add a question if you wish this nomination to be counted.

I edited in my question. As for the way CotM has always been, well, there is always a time to change things if it is a widely accepted reason. Trying to moderate or Police the community in order to stop popular characters and/or writers from winning awards is kind of cruel. They are popular for a reason and should be awarded as so if they want to. People have declined nominations in the past in such cases and I think that's the best way to do it.

Gonna chime in here on this part - it doesn’t seem cruel to me personally that a character gets to win only once. Writers aren’t limited to this, and we’ve had at least two people win with two separate characters.

If characters were allowed to win more than once, then we might end up with the same small number of faces circulating through CotM. To me, that’s less fun than leveling the playing field a bit for characters who haven’t had the chance to be CotM yet.

I'm doing browsing/reading on my break and agree here. CoTm is already sort of a circlejerk in some regards, with a small pool of people who actually vote. Popularity =/= deserving of a win. CoTm should celebrate everyone and anyone, and having previous winners not being able to win again I think, forces people to look for quality writers outside the people they may already know/see.
