STRENGTHS
  • Extreme Prisoner Containment Capacity - Designed as a mobile fortress-prison, the Chakaar can transport over 12,000 captives across standard cells, carbon-freezing chambers, and specialized holding cells, allowing it to function as a long-term detention platform rather than a simple transport.
  • Dedicated Force-User Containment Systems - Its 1,000 force cages, layered ray shielding, and isolation fields allow secure confinement of Jedi, Sith, and other Force-sensitive prisoners with minimal reliance on external facilities.
  • Exceptional Defensive Survivability - Carbon-durasteel armor, Mandalorian iron plating, a damage reduction system, and redundant shield generators make the ship extraordinarily difficult to destroy or cripple, even under sustained capital-grade fire.
  • Large and Flexible Hangar Capacity - With space for a full wing of starfighters and four squadrons of support craft, the Chakaar can deploy escorts, interceptors, boarding shuttles, and logistical craft simultaneously, enabling independent operations in hostile systems.
  • Powerful Boarding and Seizure Capabilities - Plasma-cut boarding devices, assault tubes, and heavy tractor beams allow the ship to forcibly capture enemy vessels, stations, or cripple warships and transfer prisoners directly into secure containment.
  • Heavy Internal Security Infrastructure - Multiple layers of blast doors, ray shields, surveillance systems, automated weapon detectors, and hundreds of security droids make internal breaches extremely difficult to exploit.
WEAKNESSES
  • Extremely Low Speed - The ship's massive mass, layered armor, and internal prison infrastructure result in very poor acceleration and sublight velocity, making it incapable of pursuit or rapid response.
  • Very Poor Maneuverability - The Chakaar handles sluggishly and cannot effectively evade torpedoes, capital-ship boardsides, or precision strikes without escort support.
  • High Strategic Value Target - Carrying thousands of prisoners - often including high-value Force-users - the ship becomes a priority objective for enemy rescue operations and large-scale attacks.
  • Reliance on Escort Vessels - The Chakaar is poorly suited to operate alone in contested space and requires destroyers or frigates to screen it from fast attack craft and heavy warships.
  • Internal Vulnerability During Prisoner Uprisings - Despite heavy security, coordinated revolts or sabotage within detention blocks can strain crew resources and force the ship into lockdown conditions that limit combat effectiveness.
  • Slow Hyperspace Transit - Its Class-4 hyperdrive makes strategic redeployment significantly slower than frontline combat vessels, reducing its ability to respond quickly to changing warfronts.
DESCRIPTION
The Chakaar-type Dungeon Ship is a towering symbol of Mandalorian dominance through control rather than conquest - a mobile fortress designed not to destroy fleets, but to break resistance by removing its leaders, champions, and Force-wielders from the battlefield. At eight hundred meters in length, the Chakaar rivals light cruisers in sheer volume, yet its internal structure is dominated not by reactor banks or weapon magazines, but by detention blocks, containment vaults, and armored processing halls. Entire decks are devoted to prisoner housing, security corridors, and automated monitoring systems, forming a layered labyrinth of cells, checkpoints, and shielded compartments.

Its most feared feature is its specialized containment capability. Over one thousand force cages line its deepest decks, each sealed within ray-shielded chambers and reinforced bulkheads designed to suppress the use of the Force. For prisoners deemed too dangerous for conventional detention, the ship carries extensive carbon-freezing facilities, allowing high-risk captives to be immobilized indefinitely during transport.

Though not a frontline battleship, the Chakaar is far from helpless. Its hull is wrapped in carbon-durasteel armor and Mandalorian iron plating, backed by a damage reduction system and overlapping deflector and ion shields. This defensive design allows it to endure punishment that would cripple ordinary transports, buying time for escorts and its embarked starfighters to respond. The vessel's hangars support a full wing of starfighters and multiple squadrons of boarding shuttles and utility craft. In offensive operations, the Chakaar often advances behind screening warships, using its heavy tractor beams to seize disabled targets before deploying assault tubes and plasma cutters to carve entry points into enemy hulls. Captured crews are processed and imprisoned within hours, disappearing into the ship's vast detention decks.

However, this power comes at a cost. The Chakaar is ponderous and slow, turning like a drifting fortress rather than a warship. It cannot chase fleeing enemies nor easily escape ambushes, and it depends heavily on escorts to shield it from concentrated attack.

Within the Mandalorian Empire, the Chakaar-type is known as 'the Iron Vault' - a ship that does not merely transport prisoners, but erases them from the war, locking entire rebellions behind armored walls of durasteel and silence.
