CH3 was activated by the Rebel Alliance on Kuat amid violent protests between pro-Alliance and pro-Imperialist forces. The droids initial programming was simple - escort Elane of Kuat to a rally, where the former ruler of manufacturing mecca would inspire the local Kuati population to rise up and overthrow Julius Loghain , who had aligned himself with the New Imperial Order. While providing security for the rally, CH3 detected an NIO sniper nest and went to investigate. The droid was attached by Karissa Saitel, but not before it could begin uploading its memory banks to the Rebel Alliance shadownet.
