Strengths:

• Compact: Being a compact fighter has many advantages. Hard to hit and easy to store the Needler-class fighter.
• Easy to Fix: Cheap and easily produced, the Needler-class fighter is also very easy to repair or replace.

Weaknesses:

• Minimal Shielding: With barely the required amount of shielding to stave off small space debris, the Needler relies almost entirely on the pilot's skill to avoid damage.
• No Hyperdrive: Designed for planetary and system defense, the Needler-class doesn't have a hyperdrive and can only travel long distances either via hyperspace ring or inside another ship.

Description: Designed by a Quarth engineer, the Needler-Class Starfighter is an incredibly compact ship based off of ancient Quarth starfighters that were made as exploration craft for their life ships during their exodus during the Vong War thousands of years ago. While the Needlers lack hyperdrives and shields, their easy maintenance and long sublight range make them excellent for system defense. Their unconventional cockpits consisted of two yokes rather than the usual single-yoke design common in many starfigthers and also had its pedals situated behind the seat, making the cockpit feel more like a swoop bike rather than a starfighter. Lacking a hyperdrive, the Needler-class starfighter has been outfitted with adapters for a Hyperspace ring.
