PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Cerise is exemplar of her species, the Solarborn, in almost every way: tall, slender, and sporting iridescent blue eyes and an intricate bioluminescent pattern along her sternum. There is one important distinction: she has dark chestnut hair -- a dark omen among her people. Likely to be considered reasonably conventionally attractive, she looks her age: no longer young, but not yet middle-aged or old. Her face has a certain serene enigma to it: features that are slow to react, carefully controlled, almost unyieldingly pleasant at most times. She wears her long dark hair usually loose, or half-up, with braids coming from her temples to wreath her head like a laurel crown. Her eyes are naturally an incandescent blue, though she often wears filtering contact lenses to disguise them and blend in.

Lightsaber (1x), Vibroknives (3x), Datapad, Comlink
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Striving for balance and harmony and service to the Light above else, Cerise is a follower of the Celestial Path, like most of her fellow Solarborn. She embodies the personality traits of her people, seeking to resolve conflicts diplomatically at first, non-violently second, non-lethally third, with killing reserved as a last resort. To kill, even in service of the greater good, is anathema to Cerise. She would find it deeply wounding to be put in that position. That's not to say that she is not above playing hardball when it's necessary, using coercion or even threats of violence to resolve dangerous situations.

HISTORY
Cerise Damarien was born to a noble house on Condoriah of middling influence and importance. Her mother is an ambitious and intelligent woman operating as an adviser and courtier in the political arena of Doriah, while her father was a celestial interpreter and scholar. She was the second-oldest of four children, having a sister and two brothers. Cerise was distinct from her siblings and, indeed, her parents by virtue of her dark hair, the others being blessed with more culturally-acceptable hues of white and gold. Cerise's darker hair was viewed as an oddity as well as an omen, and some whispered that Cerise's mother had dallied outside the bonds of marriage to produce such an unlucky offspring. Thus, Cerise Damarien's life began and proceeded under a cloud of dogmatic superstition.
In a way, the dark omen of her dark hair was a self-fulfilling prophecy for Cerise. In school there were whispers and jokes, which meant that her existence was generally solitary. She developed a prickly, defensive demeanor that didn't do a lot to make her friends. Later, when training to hone her abilities in the Force, she outgrew being defensive, but was still content to live on the outskirts of social life other than a few friends. Nonetheless, Cerise was dedicated to her studies and her obligations within society, including the taking on of training duties with students and fulfilling additional duties to the elder seers -- helping around the houses, preparing meals, etc. -- which is how Cerise was present at the prophetic foretelling at the deathbed of one of the elder seers some ten years ago.
The prophecy, in Old Dorian, spoke of catastrophe for Condoriah in terms that confused and terrified Cerise in equal measure, foretelling cataclysm for her people in the absence of a savior who would come -- or return, depending on the conjugation of the word -- from the stars. Even as the ancient seer's eyes were dimming, her grip on Cerise's wrist was strong as steel as she ordered Cerise to seek knowledge at the place where city covered world at the center of the galaxy. Then she died.
Cerise took the prophecy to Safeld, where the authorities did not seem to take it seriously, in part because of her age and in part, she thought, because of the circumstances of her birth. Now, years later, with the Tolling of the Tower and the revelation of the broader galaxy, Cerise prepared to leave Condoriah to research the prophecy as bade by the elder seer. Older, wiser, more powerful in the Force, she took her first steps into a broader world. What she discovered was dizzying; other people, other cultures, and indeed, a planet covered by city. She reluctantly joined the New Jedi Order, primarily for access to their archives, but also as a quasi-ambassador from her people, and has recently achieved knighthood.
