Ceremony of Masterhood: Romi Jade.

The Promotion of:
Jedi Master, [member="Romi Jade"].

At the head of the ceremonial hall of the home of the Silver Jedi upon Kashyyyk, Veiere Arenais stood proudly dressed in the garb of the Order, that was now his home. Today's Order of Jedi was not that of the former single body structure that Veiere had been raised in, but made up out of differing organizations of Jedi Students, Knights and Masters, all of whom put their various strengths and skills towards the common good of Galactic Society, as well as the pursuit of enlightenment and peace within the Force. The reason for Veiere's standing there, before the crowded room of senior members of the Silver Jedi Order, as well as friends and associates of their Organization, was the promotion of a younger Woman whom had held a pivotal place in his own life and his role as a Mentor.

[member="Romi Jade"] had once been his Padawan, though would always be thought of as his Apprentice for that Veiere did not wish to lose the relationship that they had formed over the many years of his training the younger woman; Later, he would come to meet her own Padawan, the young [member="Aten Ramses"]. He of whom sought Veiere out for his lessons in the practice of Force Light.
These recent years that Romi had been put through however, Veiere would never wish upon anyone. His brief fall to the Darkside following the foundation of the Jedi Order upon Deneba, and the actions that he had committed, she had taken especially hard, and only these passed weeks had Veiere learned that [member="Taeli Raaf"] had managed to further influence the woman's instability to draw her over to the ways of the Sith. Together, with [member="Coren Starchaser"] whom held deep personal ties with Romi Jade, fought tooth and nail to free her from this corruption.

To overcome the Dark Side of the Force, a great strength of will is required within those afflicted; Try as they did, the success of Romi Jade's return to the Jedi all depended on her strength of character and her refusal to let go of the life she had known before. To many others, Romi had been a great friend. A Mentor. Family under the Order of the Jedi. She had been a Woman of integrity and great faith in the Force. The perseverance that she had shown within her training, had returned to prove that even though she had fallen, Romi Jade would pick herself back up, with her head held high as the Jedi Knight that she was known for...Soon, to be given the rank of Jedi Master.

"Romi Jade, please step forward." Veiere spoke with an elevated voice, that all the room would hear him and the words that he had to offer his former Padawan. She would be at the front, positioned within the center of the room, only a couple steps below him and now invited to join him at the head of the great hall. It was Veiere's honor as her former Mentor, that he be given this privilege. It was one that he would do with the utmost pride and professionalism.

[member="Coren Starchaser"] | [member="Aten Ramses"] | [member="Cedric Grayson"] | [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] | [member="Arekk"] | [member="Aida Aquila"] | [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] | [member="Loreena Arenais"] | [member="Jerek Zenduu"] | [member="Sylas Taff"]

Josh knew little of Romi Jade. She was new to the Order, and he was not familiar with her past exploits aside from a fall to the dark side. But if Veiere was this high on her... Then she deserved a ceremony, that was fine. Josh trusted the judgement of Veiere, and thus gave the case to the Assembly to grant her one. A ceremony that Josh attended. While he normally conducted these ceremonies himself, today was a special case as Veiere, who had once been her Master if his information was correct, would be presiding over it.

Standing behind Veiere, the Jedi Master would give a smile and a nod in approval, knowing that if his estimation of her was correct, she would do great things with the Silver Jedi. This ceremony in his eyes was a good way to welcome her. To acknowledge her for her past deeds, and to proclaim to her that they would stand by her for her future exploits.

The Silver Jedi: where it all started. A decade ago, Ar'ekk was nothing but a scared child with a gift that went above and beyond his head and had no idea how to control it until Rasu Gan, former Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi, decided to take him to the Jedi Temple on Yutan to commence his formal training. All the hardwork and responsibilities given did not stop the young Jedi at the time to fall into the wrong path, prone to such given his background as an orphan growing up in Coruscant's underworld.

Malachor V marked a before and after in the fallen Jedi's life, the war between Jedi and Sith erupted and he was caught right in the middle of it. Sustaining heavy injuries, Arekk sought refuge in Sanctuary until the worse was over however he had been left with absolutely nothing: No master, no temple, no order to go back to. The very own people he knew had either been killed or sought help somewhere else, leaving the Padawan to fend off by himself and what was better than going back to something familiar? Nar Shaddaa seduced him greatly and the Hutts were more than capable of keeping him happy but for how long?

"Should I go? Argh, I dunno!" The inner struggle was strong, funnily enough it was a constant in his life too. To go or not to go, see old faces and remember the painful memories? Choices. "What's the worse that could happen?"

The Ebon Hawk had been nearing Silver Jedi Space inadvertly as Arekk loved to roam the depths of space aimlessly as some rare form of therapy, finding serenity and inner peace by staring into the absolute nothingness in the cockpit. Eventually, the slicer made his decision and promptly moved over to the navicomputer to set the coordinates for Kashyyyk: It was time to go there once and for all. With one jump to lightspeed he'd find himself right outside the planet in mere seconds, hopefully he wasn't late for the ceremony.

"EBH77, requesting permission to land. How copy?"

The radio showed nothing but static until a voice came through the speakers: "EBH77, permission granted. Use landing bay 5, welcome back."

"I hope I don't regret this."

The legendary vessel made its way quickly into Kashyyyk and landed on the aforementioned docking bay, the metallic landing ramp opening as soon as they touched the ground and with Arekk walking outside right away to not waste any more time. His attire was obviously not one would wear to a Jedi ceremony, his robes were locked away back home and definitely were not clean at all.

After a ten minute walk, Arekk found himself at the entrance of the temple...

Styling himself as one of the leaders of the Jedi community, he also held a hard line on a few different things. And to be honest, any time the dark side came into play, he was the one who would be enforcing a line in the sand. When the vote came regarding Romi, he really felt that more time was needed, but he also had been a bit too close to the situation. Sith poison, sure, but fighting it from within was something he voted for. Proving that, or proving a lesson from it was important.

Romi was a brilliant Jedi, there was no denying that. Countless times she had shown leadership capabilities, and the ability to help Jedi network to more effectively take on their foes. But with the recent brush of the darkness… He didn’t want to punish her and had others felt that she was ready, he was not going to stand in her way.

Siding with the majority, he knew that this was something Jedi needed to see. A new Master arising within the Alliance of Jedi, the groups who had all sided together, and he was happy to see her rise. Reaching back to the fall and recovery as a lesson she could teach to future Jedi, and hopefully arm herself well so it didn’t happen again, or if someone fell to the same trap, she could pull them out. Her view from the inside of the current Sith may prove invaluable in any coming engagements and pitfalls.

Veiere taking point only made the best choice. He was her Master. Starchaser had a dark green cloak over his Alliance uniform, modified to indicate his position as both a Jedi and General. He remained quiet, but searching him out in the Force would show that he was proud of Romi. Grateful she was returned to the Light. Anxious to find his next deployment. But more than willing to celebrate this accomplishment.

Standing off to the right-hand side of the ceremonial hall Aten watched the ceremony commence from within the crowd gathered around him. It seemed many within the Jedi community were coming out to see the promotion of Romi Jade. Aten had received the invitation to it despite being in exile from the rest of the Jedi as a whole. A smile touched the Morellian’s weary face, the stark white unshaved stubble on his chin standing out against his tan skin.

Having been Romi’s apprentice at one time Aten had waited for the day that he’d see her rise to the ranks of Jedi Masters. So many battlefields he’d accompanied her on, how he’d even aided in saving her and Coren Starchaser once. He hadn’t been there to aid in bringing Romi back to the light but she’d been able to do it through the help of others. A tear retreated down the Knight’s cheek as pride swelled within him as well.

Dressed in the tan robes, and a cloak people would notice how the right-hand side of his outfit was pinned inwards due to Aten’s missing arm from the shoulder down the Jedi having not yet replaced the cybernetic limb he’d lost on Commenor. Once more there would be another beacon of light in the galaxy for the Jedi to gather around and use as a guide during the dark times the galaxy found itself in.

Cotan hadn't been on Kashyyyk in a long, long time.

Not since before the Galactic Alliance fell, before the Silver Jedi moved to the planet; it had to have been more than a decade, by this point.

But, of course, there was no better reason to make himself seen on the planet again than for the recognition of a friend of his. So, as he brought his ship in for a landing, he was nearly buzzing with happy anticipation. A friend returning to the right side of the Force was one thing; getting recognized for all that they'd done and learned was another. He went to the landing bay that he was told to land in—bay 5—noticing a somewhat familiar ship sitting inside it.

"There's no way." It was the Ebon Hawk, alright. There were numerous copies of the Dynamic-class Freighter flying around the galaxy, but there was only one he could imagine that might have any reason to be present on Kashyyyk. "Alright, Kiss, you lock up the ship and all that, I've got to move quickly!" His droid burbled at him quizzically as he ran by; he didn't even wait for the ship to fully land before opening the docking ramp and jumping out, cushioned by the Force.

Then taking off at a run for the main temple.

Once he reached the entrance he slowed down, noticing a figure walking nearby. Cotan grinned widely, before surreptitiously coming up behind the man and clapping him on the soldier.

"You're a bit far from home, aren't you?" he asked happily, only somewhat out of breath. Truth be told, he didn't necessarily know the man beside him well—that would instead have been Asha—but he at least knew a bit of him. And it was nice to get to see a familiar face. "Good thing for you I showed up, otherwise you'd be completely alone in looking out-of-place!"

Titles, positions, roles never meant anything to her...

In fact she was notorious for turning them down. She'd been a Councilor before and she'd been Grandmaster before - she didn't believe such titles or roles necessarily equated to how skilled or wise you were. Funny, she gave up both of those positions. She was committed to her work, and through her service, she'd reap her rewards that way. That's who she was.

And this was different how?

She'd done soo much already...

It donned on her, her experiences on Eadu, that a lot of people had spoke greatness into her life and on her career as a Jedi; she never received it. This was a step into something new and much more profound and she wasn't selling herself short anymore.

Most people wouldn't understand what she'd gone through, and that was fine. She wasn't ashamed of anything, she just hoped people would know that chapter in its context. She laid her life on the line to ensure the survival of thousands of people in the wake of an invasion, battling a crippling disease of her own that would later be used against her. Forced into servitude of the dark side, she was tormented over and over until she became accustomed to pain and anger. There was never a choice on her part...

She'd given up love...when she hadn't wanted to.

But through sheer will, and the help of people close to her she was able to break those chains herself: Fear, despair, anger, her insecurities etc - she shed everything that stood in her way for the longest. Romi had conquered her internal struggles, a feat most Jedi struggle to do. That's the lesson she wanted to come from this.

But that was only a small fragment of her entire story.

So she was willing to accept this...if only to prove to herself she was where she needed to be.

Romi Jade said:
"Never let your fear decide your future..." She soon heard the words of the ancient Bendu she met prior to this...She ran her fingers through her hair, pushing it from her face as she calmed herself.

The Bendu was right. She was more than ready. The only enemy she needed to defeat was herself.

Veiere Arenais said:
"Romi Jade, please step forward."

Having forgone her usual bodysuit and field gear, she donned a more traditional set of robes for this. And whom better to bestow this upon her other than Veiere...the only man she'd ever known as a father, teacher, and friend. She was the happiest knowing they'd found their way back.

She stepped forward. Finally, joining him at the end of the Great Hall...where he'd been pushing her her entire life.

The message had been sent and Kahne wasted no time in making arrangements for the trip. This was something he didn't plan on missing. Kahne's own dealings with the darkside had been heavy, and he was able to step away just like another did. That's what made moments like these so special and awe inspiring. If someone can dive into the dark pool and come out with their heart the same. Kahne was hopeful, and perhaps just a piece of that hope had aided her. Just a small glimmer of hope, that was all that was needed. It was more than enough to drive wedge between oneself and the darkside.

Enough to give the darkness a piercing blow.

The Jedi stood further to the back, his arms crossed and a small smile on his face as he watched the ceremony progress. Kahne noted [member="Coren Starchaser"] and [member="Veiere Arenais"] to which he was happy to see them.

She had his vote, that wasn't something he needed to say out loud though.

[member="Romi Jade"]

Aida Aquila entered but kept her breezy presence towards the back of the hall. She watched with a curiously arched brow as the ceremony for one Romi Jade began. It was a name that she'd heard in passing, but she'd never met the person to attach it to. Was it the one that had returned from Rhen Var, from out of the clutches of the Sith and back into the light? Ah, yes. Perhaps that was it.

The Jedi Master and Assembly member would have to reserve any judgments, she did not know Romi's story.

However, overcoming darkness was no easy task. Though she had not gone through the ordeal herself, she knew what it took – she'd seen it before. Whether or not this newly minted Jedi Master could stay in the light, she couldn't say. If Master Arenais trusted in her, then that was good enough for now.

Time, that was the only true test.

A soft smile curled her lips, it was always a good day when another Master joined the fold. And, as her blue eyes shimmered with interest, she made a note to keep informed of Master Jade's progress.

"The difference between you and me is that I look like the younger child going through their 'phase'." He replied as he offered his palm out to Cotan, a smile accompanying the gesture. "A little far from home, yes. Where's that again?"

Beyond proper looking attires and daggers thrown at him, Arekk was present to simply offer his support and accompany his friend in a very remarkable day that will stay in the records forever.

The fallen Jedi hadn't seen Cotan since their days as part of the Je'daii Order under Asha and his beloved Jyn, seeing him brought back cherished yet also painful memories of a once peaceful life that fell into pieces in the blink of an eye.

"You're still living in Aurum?"

He kept up the pace and walked to where the rest of the Jedi had assembled in an orderly fashion, himself staying under the spotlight as if to not caught anyone's attention. Several known faces were present in the room but he preferred to stay back due to a plethora of reasons, clear ones at that. Romi had entered the temple and the fallen Jedi watched with attention, clapping in unison with the rest of the crowd.

"Aren't you older than me?" was Cotan's only reply to Arekk's joke. Not to say he didn't look older—life on the Rim could be hard, and [member="Arekk"] certainly had more money. He'd probably managed to invest in some sort of treatments to keep himself looking youthful while Cotan ended up looking old for his age. Still, thoughts of time's constant march forwards and his own impending doom aside, Cotan happily and vigorously shook Arekk's hand as the pair ascended the steps to the temple.

"Living on Aurum? Ha! I think your 'where is home' joke fits me better. I just live on my ship." A statement that was definitely—and sometimes unfortunately, depending on how well the ship worked—true. He was too busy to ever settle down on a planet somewhere. A bit too similar to [member="Coren Starchaser"] for his own good, perhaps, but that might be why the pair worked so well together. At the top of the steps, he entered the main hall alongside Arekk, moving to a close position.

It seemed the pair had arrived a little late, as [member="Veiere Arenais"] had already kicked off the ceremony, and [member="Romi Jade"] was already walking to the front. The others there, he didn't know; Cotan didn't interact much with the Silvers, limiting himself primarily to the Praxeum on Eira Pechal. Not that it mattered; he wasn't there for them, but for Romi. It was good to have her back in their fold, rather than having to fight her. I wonder if I hurt her during that fight at the library...I might need to apologize for that later.

The title of Jedi master was one that really meant something, the acclamation of your peers, their approval and understanding that you had gained both the experience and wisdom to join those exalted few, the rank many members of hte order aimed for their entire lives but failed to achieve. It was the culmination of a Jedi's experiences, a position she hoped that she could be in one day, far in the future.

Asaraa had never actually met Romi Jade, but the name was one that she knew from the archives, from the stories told. Once a grandmaster, a paragon of the light who had fallen to the darkside and clawed her way back to the light. It was a harrowing journey, one that took a massive amount of personal willpower to pull off. If anyone could pull that off, if someone had met and made enough of an impact on these Jedi masters, men like Coren Starchaser, Veiere Arenais and even Ar'ekk Daesharacor, a man she hadn't seen in quite a while. The young pink haired Jedi raised a hand in greeting as the man entered the room with a friend before turning her attention to the stage, rising to her feet as Romi ascended the steps. Was she supposed to clap now? Salute? She felt that she should be doing something to acknowledge the woman ascending the stairs. They really needed to have a salute or something for moments like this.

As [member="Romi Jade"] stood before him, those whom were gathered within the great hall of the Silver Rest numbered among so many great and significant members of the Jedi. They weren't alone of the Silver Order, but members from all different paths in service to the Force and the protection of the Galaxy, the projection of the light in a life so often conflicted in darkness. Before him stood his former Apprentice, one of many whom would be fortunate enough to bare witness to such a promotion though today was about her feats and the recognition that she had earned. Romi was not one to boast nor seek attention of her deeds, nor did the Jedi of any organization seek to pride themselves upon their accomplishments, yet where times were so trying, it also served their peers and younger generations of the Order to be given something to strive for, an example of strength in the light and in one's conviction for the betterment of others. The Silver Assembly understood this, and recognized those before them who persevered most especially through their faults and denial to be beaten by their shortcomings, to give every ounce of will for the good of the Galaxy. Romi Jade had fallen, but she had arisen through it all and proven herself a testament to the Jedi Code; where her path had once looked so very bleak, the light of the Force had shown her the way forward and she had walked through the flames of war and all to stand there today, a Jedi Master of the Galaxy.

A Snap-hiss of his lightsaber and the flare of green energy cut through the air from his hilt, his right hand raising the blade to point to the sky, joined by his left hand to be held just in-front of his chest, and those whom were of authority and support for the ceremony would recognize the moment to join in with the ignition of their own blades in a show of unity; "In recognition of your service to the Galaxy, as a steward of the Force and Guardian of the people..." Veiere began to speak, his voice firm and former for all to hear him, "In the presence of Masters [member="Aida Aquila"] and [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] of the Silver Assembly, and Master of the Order" He allowed a pause for those of his superiors to be recognized, not just in rank but too in acknowledging their presence and approval of this ceremony, "And by the personal honor and authority that was once given to me upon becoming your Mentor, I hereby declare you the title of Jedi Master".

And this was not an honor that she would be allowed to humbly seek to deny. Other ceremonies may have followed the personal choice of acceptance, but where she were concerned, Veiere knew her all too well. He had fought against her in training, and later in live combat during her greatest of personal trials. Veiere understood her skill, her practice both in the Force and in the arts of the lightsaber had nearly ended his life once, yet with her mind free once again from the corruption of the Sith and the time left between then and today where she and her former Master had the chance to speak and share their remorse over the past, Veiere had concluded that this ceremony was due.

"May you go forward, a beacon of hope to those in need" He continued, "Forever selfless in the pursuit of peace, a guardian of society and warden of the force". Veiere had never facilitated such a moment, nor did he rightly know what was typical custom for the Order of the Silver Jedi, yet he spoke from the heart as the words arose, doing his best to respect those with them, as well as those who had come and returned to the Force before them; "May you strive to uphold the ideologies of the Jedi way..." his words faded momentarily before finally concluding, "And may the Force be with you, always".

"That I am but you know what I mean." Arekk said in a hushed tone, not wanting to interrupt the on-going ceremony. "I thought you were with Asha."

The whole Jedi Order was reunited today to congratulate Romi Jade in her much important day as she received the utmost recognition a keeper of the peace could ever hope for; Be granted the chance to become a Jedi Master. All in all, rank didn't matter to a Jedi but to mantain the order and ensure there's a harmony kept in the galaxy but one couldn't simply feel elated to receive such honor.

Arekk had forgotten how much the Jedi Order meant for him even in his darkest days, furthermore after having lost his way to the light and getting caught inbetween. His deeds were probably too bad to forgive which would certainly banish him from rejoining their ranks again, unless offered, however that wouldn't shake away the feeling of finding purpose again.

Once a Jedi, always a Jedi.

"Know any of these people, Cotan? I've known most of them since I was a Padawan. I wonder if they even remember me."

There would be more time to talk and go through old memories later because as of that instant the temple erupted in cheers and applause for Romi. A bright day for the Jedi Order had just started and he knew that the woman standing before them had very well earned the honor to be a Jedi Master. Because of that Arekk applauded loud and proudly, she deserved it.

"Asha never even stays on Aurum," he replied, equally hushed. "She goes where she wills, and we generally make enough time to spend together." Though he hadn't heard from her particularly recently, which made him mildly worried; still, he trusted that she could take care of herself, and that if she really needed help she'd absolutely get ahold of him.

He joined in on the applause when Romi was officially declared a master. It was an interesting turn of events—one Jedi master, himself fairly recently returned to the fold after a bout with the Dark Side, leading the ceremony for another new master who was in the same boat. Perhaps the most impressive part of it all was how willing others were to trust Romi again to put her in such a place; though, unlike Veiere, her turn had been a result of foul poisons and sorceries, not an entirely active decision on her part.

Cotan had to wonder if he'd be the same way, if he didn't personally know Romi.

Once the applause died down a bit, he turned back to Arekk. "I know Romi, I know Coren Starchaser, and I know of Veiere and a few others," he replied. "Beyond that, I can't say much. I barely know any of the other Judges in the Coalition aside from Jorus Merrill, let alone any others who were with the Je'daii aside from myself, Asha, you, and her old apprentice. I'm not really the guy to go to if you want to know who to know."

The two stood and stared for a long while, neither blinking. Her and Veiere had shared a relationship where they could communicate through looks rather than words -- she could tell how proud he was, and he would know how grateful she'd be in return. Her eyes fell to floor, on cue with the activation of his lightsaber. The emerald sheen along the surface of her skin collided with the orange hues of distant flames. A perfect effect.

Soon came the others, she'd never thought the igniting of their symbolic weapon would be able to form such a smooth melody.

Veiere Arenais said:

Her lips became pursed, she was trying to hold back her joy -- a feeling she didn't think would come as a result of this. But, she'd been through enough and to come out on the other side have none of those struggles go unnoticed, it felt great. She hoped that the tale that would become of this would be fare and true, but most importantly, she hoped that others would see that when they are presented a choice...to think of those who've suffered without one and have still made their way back.

She broke out into a smile, her body lurching forward as she pleasantly giggled.

Veiere Arenais said:
"And may the Force be with you, always".

She roars of the cheers beat against her back, and she immediately dove into an embrace with her former Master. Whether he wanted to or not...

"Thank you." she whispered before turning around and bowing before everyone in attendance.

Walking off...

For those who would know her playful side.
