OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Shipyards Name: Centurion Station
  • Classification: Special Drydock
  • Location: Currently orbiting Kashyyyk (formerly located in an asteroid field in the Mon Calamari system)
  • Affiliation: Outer Rim Military Engineering
  • Population: Moderately Staffed, 60% labor droids (10,000) + 40% organics (6,500)
  • Accessibility: Up until Centurion Station moved to Kashyyyk, its location was kept classified at all times, and all organics working on the station were assigned to stay there for years until Pickle Rick was complete. The excuse given was that they were scouting out new planets for ORME to set base on. The only way in and out of Centurion Station were through small boarding doors located on the fringes of the station. It was only after the siege of Mon Calamari and Centurion Station's narrow escape from the hands of the Sith that its crew were given more freedoms, albeit with increased security measures.
  • Description: Centurion Station was designed for the sole purpose of creating and housing Pickle Rick and any other supercapital ship ORME could ever produce. It originated as a station a century old made for the same purpose, however it fell into disrepair as its former owners fell from the galactic stage. Purchased by ORME, the old and rusted station was cleaned up and turned into a manufacturing powerhouse. Its vast, cavernous production center, ten kilometers long, six kilometers wide, six kilometers tall and open to the void of space, could fit a SSD of typical dimensions inside.
OPERATIONS INFORMATION
  • Production: Battlecruisers/Dreadnoughts, primarily Pickle Rick
  • Specialty: Battlecruisers/Dreadnoughts
  • Output: Only Pickle Rick currently resides in Centurion Station, but it has been estimated by ORME engineers that the station could produce a ship a year at most, with 16 hour shifts and 24 hour droid labor.
  • Market: ORME, private interests
SECURITY
High - Only Rick Kaloo and eight senior members of ORME knew Centurion Station's location until the siege of Mon Calamari. Even its own crew were left in the dark to where exactly they were working in.

Above Kashyyyk, the facility's location is now well-known, but there are many more security measures. Titanium blast doors line the halls of Centurion Station, while a majority of the heavy automated manufacturing tools can be self-destructed in emergencies. Troops are regularly stationed throughout the station, and a small armada of Outer Rim vessels guard the exterior at all times. Additionally, with Pickle Rick nearing completion, its own colossal arrays of armaments can be turned on an opposing task force.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Manufacturing Area - A massive, hollowed-out space in the center of Centurion Station currently houses Pickle Rick, the biggest ship ever made in ORME history. A huge variety of claws, hooks, and magnetic fusion devices of dozens of sizes line the inner frame of the station. Most of these systems are either automated, or in the case of the largest and smallest tools, manually run by organic engineers.

Bridge - Like a military capital ship, Centurion Station has a command bridge in which all primary operations are controlled. Its glasteel windows also provides beautiful views of the surrounding space and the progression of the ships built in the station's manufacturing area.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

In the very beginnings of Operation Centurion, the project to create Pickle Rick, the need for a station was realized. ORME was lucky enough to find an old, used station of massive scale sold for a relatively low price on the market. Consequently purchasing the station, the company quickly went to work on modernizing and cleaning the facility.

The rusting durasteel frame was replaced by titanium, lighting systems a century old were refurbished, dozens of more manufacturing tools were added, and the central bridge was greatly expanded. The repairing of the station took three months of nonstop work by two thousand workers, but the work was definitely worth the wait. The new facility was named Centurion Station after the operation it was crucial in. Then, the blueprints for a five kilometer long warship were submitted to the station. Its crew was expanded into tens of thousands, and went to work immediately.

Even with a massive organic and mechanical workforce, it still took many years before the strangely named Pickle Rick began to emerge as the colossus it was. Centurion Station was active nearly all hours of the day, with day shift and night shift perfectly balancing each other to leave no wasted time in between. Frigates frequently traveled to and from the station with food and water for its exhausted workforce. Other frigates brought steels and alloys to the manufacturing area of the station to be twisted and bent into the frame of a massive warship.

From the very beginning of the project, security was a significant concern. There were many rival companies and even factions wanted ORME's dreadnought for themselves, or wanted it to not exist at all. Therefore, significant precautions were taken. Centurion Station's location was kept classified for years, reinforced blast doors were installed, communications were forbidden and jammed, and the station's crew were kept on the station until Pickle Rick was complete.

However, even Rick Kaloo personally overseeing the station could not prevent a mole from slipping in. When the Sith arrived in Mon Calamari seeking vengeance, they also arrived at Centurion Station. A sizable ORME fleet was established just in time, with the then three-quarters complete Pickle Rick blasting a hole through the Sith interdiction force, allowing the station to jump into hyperspace.

Apon arrival at Kashyyyk, ORME accepted that Centurion Station, and Operation Centurion as a whole, could no longer be kept a secret. So instead of attempting to classify Centurion Station's location once again, ORME put dozens of its warships in a defensive formation around the station and enlisted intelligence agents to ensure no traitors remained in the station. Pickle Rick nears its final stages within Centurion Station, and will soon be ready for deployment.
