DESCRIPTION
Engineers at Primo Victorian inspired by the work of KSA's Huginn Biocomm Network took to designing their own biocomm network. In the wake of the Kuragin's destruction, the labor of love project turned into a high priority project. Orders from Central Command were to create a new biocomm network that would not only be unique to the First Order but enable the nation to wean itself away from third party software, materials and companies. Understandably the First Order now held to a degree their own concern about their security. There was a liability in allowing something as vital as a biocomm network being left to a third party and not the state. Initially, the engineers knew little of the Huginn Biocomm Network, only that it was based on Vong technology.
Primo Victoria turned to the state, namely the First Order Corps of Imperial Engineers, the First Order Division of Science and the First Imperial Medical Services. Together the four entities worked to come up with something new, something original and unique to the First Order. The answer became the neurological gelpacks, or a neurogel pack.
Neurological gels, built with delicate fibers and circuitry. These small packs of gel which from the outside don’t seem to do much, but on the inside. These gel packs mimic the human brain which has a far superior processing capacity which meant that the information this network needed to carry and use would be able to do so a lot faster and easier as these gel packs could now be installed within every ship’s systems. Which meant the First Order need no longer rely on a flotilla of ships but instead could broaden its own network on a ship to ship basis, and further by tapping into an already existing hyperwave network. Only now, the ships would communicate utilizing a transmission network that registered each ship as a unique entity. Given that these gel packs function to mimic human biology, each ship could then be given its own 'neurological' identity. Further strengthening the First Order's own Central Command Biocomm Network.
This isn't perfect however and the network is not without its own vulnerabilities. Like any biological entity, the ships can get sick, a virus could be released - essentially giving any single ship, station or perhaps fleet an illness to bring the network down. Even temporarily, it would take an hour or two if not longer depending on the severity of the virus to bring the network back up. Gelpacks when handled improperly whether accidentally or otherwise, would mean a slow or sluggish response from any ship's computer core. As the FOCIE works closely with FONE to create new computer cores that now work with the CCBN as opposed to the Huginn Biocomm Network.
To aid in the gel pack’s processing, small heuristic processors were included acting as the center of the gel pack’s neuro system. The information would then be carried out by the delicate fibers and up through the metallic interfaces and up through the encryption modules and out into the ship or station’s given information network. Pattern buffers and memware make it easier for the system to keep track of movements, and vital signs. Using an algorithm based on DNA formulas and biorhythmic signatures CCBN creates a pattern buffer for each unique individual and stores it within its memory ware. This data is then copied and downloaded onto a larger network housed in undisclosed locations. Data is monitored by a select number of personnel and droids who keep watch on all vital signs. Emergency responders and rapid response units also have access to this information as they are immediately alerted to an emergency situation and given the details of the people involved.
Thus far this network only expands to military and government personnel.

The delicate fibers are prone to damage if not handled with care, and are quite costly to repair if they’re able to be repaired at all.
Must be kept cool at all times, and uses a specialized plasma to keep cool this plasma is harder to come by. EFP, ElectroFrost Plasma is a byproduct of the Crystal Engine and is the reason why the plasma is hard to come by.
It is not backwards compatible with the Huginn Biocomm Network making older systems based on the technology obsolete as the new CCBN is installed.
While highly advanced and hard to crack into the CCBN is still vulnerable, should someone manage to get their way into the network by taking someone’s identity or creating a new one and passing it on through various checkpoints.
Strengths:
Mobile Security Network: CCBN allows the First Order to widen, its security network giving more flexibility to those working within National Security.
Biological Communications: Unique biorhythmic sequences to each individual allows for a more secure connection, making it harder to crack and freeing up older hyperwave technology.
Vital Systems Monitoring: Much like the base, the CCBN functions as a vital systems monitor on personnel. Alerting medical and emergency response teams to those who need them with a higher rate of efficiency than previous.
Mimic: Mimics human brain functions and is able to process information faster, and is also capable of handling a lot more data than the network that inspired it.
Range: Extended range, as it's able to be installed on more than just the Conyers's class starship, thus expanding the range of the biocomm network.
Weaknesses:
Coolant: CCBN relies heavily on the byproduct from the new Crystal Engine, the ElectroFrost Plasma. This byproduct isn’t so easy to come by, and makes it harder to produce more than a limited quantity. Without the coolant within the gel pack, the CCBN is unable to function.
Security Measures: If someone is able to successfully take over another’s identity, the would-be saboteur would have a lot of data and information on their hands. Namely the vital systems monitoring and the communications system this network provides. Allowing them to wreak havoc with the First Order’s internal systems.
Delicate: Tiny hair like fibers are ultra delicate and so the gel packs they are housed in must be handled with care at all times, whether through cleaning, installation or uninstallation. If these fibers are damaged they are costly to repair if they’re able to be repaired at all. It could easily cause a slowdown, or interruption of the network if more than several of the gel packs are damaged.
Viruses: The CCBN is vulnerable to viruses, and slow performance when gelpacks are mishandled. Viruses depending on the severity could bring down a ship, station or even an entire fleet. And like any biological entity, the gelpacks built into any installation would need time to recover. Putting further pressure on other parts of the network, bogging it down.
Traffic: Much like the inspired Huginn Biocomm Network, the Central Command Biocomm Network requires a lot of resources. When anyone resource goes down, information moving back and forth slows down as the network becomes clogged until new resources are either brought up, or the older ones are repaired.
