BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The standard ground-attack support aircraft of the Crossroads Republic Army, it is not a fleet aircraft, although it is space-capable so it can move back and forth between its mothership and its targets on the world below. Organized into squadrons of eight aircraft they always work in pairs to conserve ammunition and are always evenly spaced along the front in normal operations with pairs of Warhawks sometimes being tasked to specific units on patrols, large or high-value convoys, while entire squadrons can sometimes be delegated to escorting several squadrons of dropships into a combat zone or sent after a particularly large or valuable target. Rarely will Warhawks enter an airspace where they don't have SEAD-equipped fighters or droid fighters nearby, nor will they be particularly common in contested airspace due to their high-value and vulnerability to attack from above. Although if engaged from level by gunships of a similar role they will be all-too-willing to go toe-to-toe with an enemy gunship or dropship in defense of their ground troops. They are particularly deadly against enemy artillery, armor, and infantry when they can operate freely without fear of enemy air defenses or enemy aircraft while they are of limited use against most kinds of hard bunker-type targets. The biggest thing about this aircraft that RPers need to remember is that they only have ten missiles and can be jumped from above rather successfully if they are not guarded.
