STRENGTHS
  • Grey Goo -
    • Capable of reconstructing planets and planetary accessories, the "Vulcan" serves as its namesake - the premiere choice in rebuilding planets in lieu of massive warfare. Be it orbital bombardment, mandalorians nuking their own planet, asteroids crashing into a planet via tractor beams, or mandalorians nuking their own planet; the "Vulcan" can repair and rebuild whatever is put in front of it - given enough time, and of course, money.
  • Byzantine Efficiency -
    • With extremely complex work patterns, the "Vulcan" are capable of highly efficient and speedy work for the vast majority of their projects. Building Super Star Destroyers in weeks in stead of months, refitting fleets in record time, and even making the project of terraforming planets take mere months or years compared to the decades it may have once taken - the "Vulcan" are the essential solution to the galaxies constant need for self-destruction.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not a Super Weapon -
    • Despite being the spitting image of apocalyptic droid swarms that consume planets, the "Vulcan" are not at all capable of such a feat. With absolutely no defensive means besides basic Agrinium to protect from background radiation and solar flares - the "Vulcan" swarms can be disabled and deactivated with almost no effort. While they can both construct and deconstruct things with haste, these efforts require complete isolation, no distractions, and a hearty administrative AI to keep the work load manageable. Any of these pins failing could lead to the droids lowering their efficient means significantly, or even becoming generally useless when compared to more traditional construction droids.
  • Bureaucracy -
    • With the larger swarms, the "Vulcan" requires and almost insane amount of processing power. This means that to even utilize them, someone would need AI on par with at least the AXIOS or Apollo Super AI; with the only exception being small manufacturing plants using the "Vulcan" as an optimized means of an assembly line. All other uses require more, and when terraforming is involved only the X-02 is truly capable of handling the workload - making it a rare and complex feat in all instances.
DESCRIPTION

As Jaeger expanded its efforts to compensate for the mass destruction of the Bryn'adul and Sith Empire, mostly at the behest of Caulder Dune Caulder Dune , Maliphant looked to update Jaeger's arsenal at reconstruction. Going through Blackwell Industries infrastructure department, Jaeger looked to make an 'end all be all' to general labor, specialized construction efforts, and even terraforming efforts without the common use of Yuuzhan Vong world shapers. In this, they decided on varying size swarms of "Vulcan" drones - capable of fixing entire planets when the need arose.
While smaller groupings of the drones could be used in manufacturing plants as a way to expeditate extremely sensitive processes - when utilized in massive swarms they are capable of reconstructing planetary infrastructure either to spec prior to destruction through engrained simulation efforts based on damage patterns, or to upgrade infrastructure as requested by the planetary governing body. This means that even when the Senate Building on Coruscant gets destroyed for the eight time in three months, it can come back just as strong a few weeks later; given that the governing body at the time actually wants it rebuilt. This expeditated construction effort means that massive swaths of destruction is almost a thing of the past - and where once people were made refugees from a Sith Lord throwing a star destroyer into their home, or a rogue clone trooper nuking Nar Shaadaa, now they can see their homes back in only a few days; given they had insurance.
All in all, while a large effort - the "Vulcan" is a supremely efficient construction droid, using its molecular furnace and tractor beam to change piece by piece of material until the goal is reached. Without any protection they are incapable of causing harm on a large scale fast enough to actually be a threat - and because of this are often welcomed after a battle rather than feared. With it, Jaeger hopes to transition its own factories to utilize the "Vulcan" and start using it on their various ships for transporting goods, mining operations, and a wide variety of other projects.
