Affiliation: Open Market
Modularity: No
Production: Mass
Material: Nanotechnology
Description:

Neuro-Saav Corporation’s first entry in the world of Nanotechnology was the SB-01 ‘SmartBlood’http://starwarsrp.net/topic/39112-sb-01-smartblood/ and now they are back with something new. The Everlast is a coat which can be applied to all manner of products ranging from weaponry, to vehicles and of course droids.

What it does is simple, the coating is made out of miniature robotic apparition which are constantly searching its metaphorical host for flaws which it will attempt to repair.

Understood is that said reparation ain’t an one-way ticket to instant self-healing armor or ships that repair themselves within minutes of impact. The coat’s ability to repair is strictly limited to the usual wear and tear of simple materials, this means that when last year ya had to bring your droid to the shop for some fixing… you can stay right at home now.

After testing it was made clear that the coating was almost too effective.

To be more specific the paint never stopped working, with the constructs being able to repair minor issues indefinitely. Not exactly a cost-efficient venture, seeing as people would only have to buy it once and would be content for ever. (Until someone shoots a hole in their droid and notice the paint can’t actually do anything about that)

So efforts have been made to curb this unappreciated boon. The constructs are now severely limited in their ability to ‘replicate’ material for their repairments, proportional to what its painted on, of course.

A regular-sized service droid can be roughly kept operation for two years after its usual downturn. Guns is a more difficult question, because of the inherent activity its put through.

So, to be clear, this isn't a self-healing armor substitute. This is just a thing that'll smooth over scrapes and keep internal parts running smoothly. That said, this probably still has potential for abuse, so just be careful with how you go about using this stuff. If complaints are filed, it'll be brought back out for edits. As it stands, this doesn't really have any good combat applications.

So approved. All cautious-like.
