Zeriana was by her hip, seeming more at ease with the continued presence of Rik Perris Rik Perris in her life.

It slightly miffed her mother that he had more influence than she did. But it also meant that progress was more than possible and not simply a longshot. Interestingly however, was the murmurs of familiar faces becoming more common within High Republic space.

Makko Vyres Makko Vyres and Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania no less.

People she had not spoken to directly for some time now with all that had been surrounding the High Republic.

Feeling shame for not sending well wishes at the very least to their union. The two deserved each other in her eyes. A scoundrel showing the princess the wider galaxy, and the princess showing the scoundrel there was more to life.

A touch surprised the relationship hadn't been whispered into a certain authors ear for inspiration. Or maybe it had and she was simply behind on her reading of late.

Taking a spot at the shaved ice stand and waiting before distraction came in the form of Zeriana tugging at her robe to point at the stand.

"Starlight, we are waiting for a friend. We will get some." Lossa's words were gentle, calm, but firm as the two year old frowned and tugged against her robes again.

The woman behind the stand already preparing a cone with a knowing grin to Lossa.

"Well fancy digs and fancy robes!" Makko declared as he approached.

The people of Naboo seemed to enjoy bright colours and Makko was able to dress up as well. He often kept his clothing fairly muted but smart around Ukatis. He wasn't supposed to stand out there.

"Gone up in the world!" he laughed. He raised both arms to give Lossa a hug.

"It's good to see you," he said quietly as he stepped back. Cora had the political influence to meet the Republic formally. His work for the Alliance was conducted in the shadows, but he still had friends.

Makko dropped to one knee to be at Zeriana's level before he introduced himself.

"And it is good to see you too Zeriana," he added softly to the girl hiding in Lossa's robes.

Makko's greeting brought a proper smile to her face.

Turning to face him as the smile shifted to a grin. "And you too!"

Her laugh filling the air as Zeriana looked up at her mother. Examining the feelings of ease and humor as she looked back to the new face from her safe spot.

"Stroke of luck really. But can say the same about you!" She returned the hug. Not familial. But close enough for a long time friend she hadn't seen. "Married now? And it feels like yesterday I was sneaking you into the temple. Come a long way since."

The grin shifting back to a warm smile.

"I'm glad to see you and that you are doing well." A hand moving to cover her heart as he knelt to greet her daughter.

The little girl not quite hiding now as the emotional undercurrent kept from disappearing into the folds of the robe.

"High." Her voice squeaked out the greeting.

Still visibly unsure but not hiding further as Lossa let her decide on her own.

Lossa smiled. Pleased her daughter wasn't immediately hiding with a look to Makko. "We are getting shaved ice if you want some."

Placing an order for two cherry flavored treats as she guided them away from the stall to sit down in a public seating area.

"How are settling into the married life?"

MAKKO

"High." Her voice squeaked out the greeting.

Makko smiled a little more widely, but he didn't push for any more of a conversation. He relied on his own empathic senses to focus on Lossa until she was more accustomed to his presence.

"Let's go get some shaved ice."

"How are settling into the married life?"

"Good," he said, "Although in a way there isn't much to settle into.

The question warranted more of an explanation.

"We just did it on our own in private. We left and had our own private ceremony. I know that means people missed out but it was about us."

"Some of the nobles I think have worked out that we"'re a thing. Those are the clever ones so they don't talk about it. It just feels... It feels so right to have come through all we have and to have made that commitment."

"And yeah...it feels like no time at all. And also a very long time. How are you?"
