Description:
The Narran-Class was named after the draconic, metamorphic species Narran on Crystalsong. It was originally designed as an interdiction fighter to intercept and eliminate high-speed threats from long range on an interception course (as a class of turbine jet fighter had on a smaller scale millennia before). Early in development engineers realized the prohibitively large size made the craft ideal as a gunship or heavy bomber, and began immediately developing the Narran-Class for both roles. The Intercept Fighter concept was not abandoned, however, and simply reserved as the last development of the project, being renamed to "Interdictor."
A modular version of the Narran-Class design was later released to the general public, in the form of a personal shuttle. Taking after the modular design of small freighters in the past millennium, the company sought to make the shuttle design as customizable as possible, including a reserved ten metric tonne space for aftermarket components.
[Standard Modifications] LLP's shuttle differs from the base model released to the Crystalsong general public and interstellar open market, following the millennia-old tradition of personal aftermarket modification. The shuttle's fusial thrust engines have been replaced with ion drive engines, located in the port and starboard wings. The Drake Model's caudal missile bays have also been purchased separate and installed. Both bays' warhead space has been retrofitted to house two small mods (with a maximum capacity of 5 tonnes per bay and 10 tonnes combined). Much of the interior amenity space has been stripped for chassis reinforcement and fuel cells, with its bunk compartments foregone for two simple wall-foldout bunks; cargo space is slightly greater than its market counterpart. Empty computer housings carried over from the original design are fitted with a reproduced ANq 3.6 targeting computer linked to a custom AL-130 dynamic CMD on the flight instrument deck to provide firing solutions for the ventral gun to the pilot. An SW-4 twin ion cannon turret is installed dorsally on the ship's midsection, operable remotely via pilot or gunner, or locked into position for pilot firing.
[Advanced Features] A Nordoxiicon-38 shield generator adds a layer of protection against missiles and ordinance by using a magnetic field to cause some warheads to misfire or fire early, minimizing or preventing damage to the ship. This is not guaranteed every time and some missiles will cause damage. It does not protect against missiles with large blast radii that would reach the ship regardless. A C-N:FA01 flight computer is used for its standalone nature, quick rebooting and enhanced processing speed. It is able to multi-manage a plethora of routes and destinations, making operation easier for the pilot or captain.
[Cosmetics] The finished product of LLP's tramp customizations is known as the Cat-o-Nine, and is presented in an elctrum leaf bronzium two-tone scheme.
