SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Castle Invictus
  • Classification: School/Base of Operations
  • Location: Dosuun
  • Affiliation: First Order
  • Accessibility: Restricted. Located in the northernmost, mountainous regions of Dosuun, the exact coordinates of Castle Invictus are closely guarded. Additionally, it's placement at the top of one of the more difficult mountain ranges to scale makes direct access extremely treacherous.
  • Description: As with much of Dosuun, Castle Invictus is a fusion of the timeless aesthetic of Core Worlds(most notably Galidraan, as a nod to the Supreme Leader Natasi Fortan), combined with the grim pragmatism that comes with the life in the Outer Rim. The castle interior is outfitted with cutting edge technology, and criss-crossed with hidden pathways to traverse the castle, including more then a few that lead to the base of the mountain.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Archives: The Archives are the home to one of the most impressive accumulations of knowledge in the galaxy; one may often spot sentients of all ages traversing it's tomes. However, beware the restricted section- primarily for confiscated holocrons, but also classified information.
  • Living Quarters: This wing is where aspiring Knights- Novices- sleep and live amongst one another in their dormitory. Knights have larger, more spacious living conditions.
  • Briefing Room: This is where Knights go to get "read-in" on matters of national concern, courtesy of a dedicated line.
  • Training Facilities: Castle Invictus has state of the art training facilities- private training dojos, public arenas for competitions, and a gymnasium.
  • Med-Bay: A dedicated, state-of-the art med bay open around the clock to address any maladies or injuries.
  • Hanger: Carved into the mountain, this space for roughly a dozen ships, depending on size. The hanger is the easiest way to approach and enter Castle Invictus.
  • Armory: Castle Invictus maintains a well-stocked armory, both to ensure Knights going on missions are prepared, as well as to repair any damage equipment.

Castle Invictus is protected by thick walls, sprawling reinforced tunnels, and it's residents. It's biggest offense is it's anonymity.


HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Following the Reclamation Campaign, where the Ssi-Ruuvi were expunged from Dosuun, the First Imperial Knights claimed Fort Excelsior, outside of Gawain- the only First Imperial Fortress that did not fall to the Ssi-Ruuk. However, with the stream of refugees coming into First Order space, there has been a spike of 'Awakenings'- episodes where sentients (often children) discover their connection the the Force. Often, refugee children find themselves in a stressful situation- thrust into new surroundings, often bereft of anchors such as family and community. When these Awakenings occur, sometimes they end tragically; there are few able to subdue out-of-control Force Sensitives utilizing non-lethal options.

While Fort Excelsior remains the official seat of the Knights to the public, the decision to move the First Imperial Knight's base of operations to Castle Invictus was driven by a need to allow the Knights to operate with more anonymity, as well better address the needs of the ballooning Force-Sensitive populace in a safe, isolated environment. The castle is staffed by Knights as well as a small but dedicated support staff.
