SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Multipurpose - Excels in stopping projectiles and dispersing energy from a blaster or lightsaber strike.
  • Speed and Maneuverability - Material choice is light-weight and the MK IV ablative design maintains an impressive degree of flexibility.
  • Vacuum Sealed - User is protected from hazardous environments and the vacuum of space for a limited time.
WEAKNESSES
  • Sonic Weaponry - No real countermeasures in place other than the helmet's sonic dampener for protecting hearing. Sonic weapons may even bypass the armor entirely in some cases.
  • Acidic Weaponry- Acid based weapons eat away at the armor plates exposing the user to other attacks making repairs necessary after exposure.
  • The Force - No preventative measures to negate force powers from being used.
DESCRIPTION
With the goal to create the perfect armor, Spectre Commander Ronor Jakar invested heavily into the design, testing, and improvement on the Spectre Project for the past five years. Unfortunately, Commander Jakar never lived to see the end of his project. With Jakar's unexpected death, the armor testing halted and the development team declared the credit-devouring project a failure with no end in sight. The project remained in stasis until Arius Carver reinstated funding to finish the armor for himself with a more realistic end state in mind. Any idea of a "perfect" armor was scrapped knowing such an expectation is impossible to meet. Instead, Carver opted to focus the protective features against common threats like blasters and slugthrowers. He accepted the risk of rarer dangers such as force powers and less conventional weapons or the armor would likely never see the light of day.
The new intent for the armor became increasing the wearer's odds of survival when actively participating in the frontlines of large-scale battle. A Commander leading soldiers directly can give much-needed inspiration and morale boosts when all seems lost. In order to accomplish this, time was dedicated to the aesthetic and color scheme in addition to protective features. The armor's design and colors are meant to look powerful and heroic to allies and intimidating to adversaries.
Carver's Spectre Armor is valued for protection against a wide range of threats while maintaining maneuverability and speed. Kinetic and energy weapon resistance is the core of the armor's strength. Additionally, hazardous environments and even the vacuum of space are no match for an undamaged Spectre suit as long as oxygen reserves last. Lastly, ion based resistance is so-so compared to other suits. But, with limited reliance on electronics, the threat of ion damage is no real concern.
Shortcomings include sonic weaponry which the armor does little to safeguard against. Other dangers include acidic based weaponry capable of eating away at the armor plates, exposing the wearer to other forms of harm. Finally, force powers are a threat for the sole reason that there are no methods implemented to prevent telekinetic powers from being used against the wearer.
