Remember that time when the Factory was backed up like a toilet at a baked beans convention? Remember when folks were all "it would be awesome if we could get some dedicated people to judge these submissions and then a staff member can approve it"? Remember how our beloved Factory and Codex Judges came to be?

It's that time again.

You have an army of people on this board who live on Photoshop. People who would have no problem helping manage the several gigabit monster that is the map update. Use us. Call us Cartographers or Cira Alts 1-3. Whatever. Point being, there's a resource sitting here that can keep the map crisp, frequently updated, and under your direct supervision.

(TL;DR - I'm suggesting a team of Photoshop gurus band together under Cira's watchful eye to do the map updates for her. She can approve, just like an RPJ approves a sub, and tosses up the map as frequently as she pleases. No loading a map. No delays. Use us. )

The map is updated regularly every month by [member="Cira"] . It's even more regular than the Member of the Month awards...but has far more work going into it.

I do not feel we should declare that once a month is too slow. The only reason it was delayed this time is because the map was being completely changed. That needed more time to work, plus needing member input on the rules related to the map.

The number of changes in any single month is a good amount. Updating it in shorter time periods would achieve little but more work with minimal gains.

Thank you for your offer, but at the moment I have complete confidence in Cira to deliver the map on time - or at the least tell me if she can't so someone else can take the burden.

We used to have the map updated weekly. Hell, for a brief span of time, I helped in that.

I'm confident that a team would allow this to happen again, and would offer more flexibility as the map factions inevitably go rabid in the coming months for elbow room.

Of course, if the above if your final word then I won't buck against your rule, Lord Nantaris.

Said weekly updates were only for the very beginning, and during Clockwork where such updates were needed as they tied into the event.

Weekly updates are not required currently. If the upswing of activity from the new dominions/invasions/rebellions necessitate it we will evaluate timing when it happens.
