Can't Live With Her...

Turning back to Aika, senses open and not fearing the practical threats of the Silver guardsmen, Connor scoffed a little.

”Me? A threat? Of course not. You just me know you need the extra protection if you’ve got a private army behind you. Nothing wrong with a little friendly Master to Master banter, is there?”

He went back to the guards and pointed to her ship in the distance.

”I suggest you give us the privacy we need and get back to your post. If you don’t want to, then this little meeting is over.”

Her soft laughter, iconic of the presence she brought where ever she went. "You heard him. He possesses no way to harm of any kind to me, no matter how hard he may wish it. He is simply that pitiful. Or perhaps pathetic is a better term? Either way, you are all free to return to your duties".

As the troops holstered their blasters once more, turning as they stepped off. One, however, lingered a bit longer, that one being Aika's pilot, Captain Vaken. His eyes bounced between the two Master's before finally coming to rest upon Connor's form as he returned his own blaster to its holster upon his hip. "Look, your a good kid. The Counselor sees something in you, so I'm in no place to disagree with her. But my job is protecting her. So, lets not give me a reason to have to do my actual job. Alright, kid?" With that, he turned, moving back towards the pad where their ship rest.

Her own eyes remained on her pilot as he moved further from the two, lips still curved into that ever mischievous grin. "I thought you'd have realized by now. The difference between us isn't simply power. It's the way we choose to obtain and express that power."

Connor mulled over the threat from her “Captain” – why had she herself got a personal entourage. She was no better than any of the Council members, and even the Grandmaster himself hadn’t been seen with armed guards such as Aika had. Iego started to feel a whole lot colder now in the canyon.

"If he calls me kid again, I’ll shove that blaster where the twin suns of Tatooine don’t shine."

He turned to the grin of Aika.

"If you express power by bullying, then that’s not really impressing anyone or making them thing you’ve actually GOT power. All I can see if you trying to look important. I’ve not seen any power, Aika, and armed guards don’t mean you’ve got it."

He walked forward, expressing words with his hands.

"You’ve no friends in the Order, you’ve no direction – you never show your face until it’s always too late. So what power do you think you hold, especially over me? I can’t see any."

Her head simply shook as the grin remained upon her face. Connor never changed. Even when something happened that would open most people's eyes, he remained the same. Not that it was something to complain about. That simple fact made it all the easier to delve into his mind, and to continue to poke and prod as she saw fit.

"Don't be so angry at someone for simply doing their job. That aside, I believe your incorrect in your words. I have never bullied a soul. Not once have I forced my will upon another, nor have a forced one to do something against their own will. While it would be quite easy to grasp one b y their throat and force them to choose between their life and my words, what would that accomplish? Instilling fear? Hatred? How would that benefit any of us in the least? No, no.."

Her feet began to move once more, circling Connor as her head seemed to bob lightly. "Strength is expressed in a multitude of ways. I've always chosen to express mine in a more reserved manner. Just because I choose to keep my own hands to my side.." As she completed her bout around Connor, Aika stopped just before him, giving a small twirl on her one foot before planting them both upon the ground, halting her spin instantly as she faced him, a quite enigmatic grin shown to the world. "Doesn't mean I'm any less powerful than anyone else. Truthfully, it actually makes me stronger. Anyone can swing a sword. However, it takes something special to mold a mind. Or to even destroy it.. Though, that is far from our style or goal. Isn't it?"

Looking to the heavens, trying to picture being anywhere apart from stood in the web of this black widow circling him, Connor laughed gently at her words. He brought his head back to her level and looked at her with that grin again, one that was very pretty but increasingly annoying to see.

”Keep your hands by your side? You say that now after levelling me to the ground a minute ago? Or did you forget that? Was that the psychotic side of you that blinkers out for a few seconds whilst you lose control of your senses, and then nice Aika comes back?”

He shrugged a little, feingin a look of defeat. But, something in him wanted to push that button again to see what it was inside that was hidden away.

”I know you’re good at meddling in the mind, I admire that. I’ve lived with enough dark seed in my brain to know it’s strength, and if you can do that, well done. You’ll get far playing with the Silvers.”

Chewing his bottom lip for a second, it was now his turn to walk around Aika, like two animals sizing each other up for the 100th time.

”You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you fight beside us. There was once, years ago, when we were younger, but it’s nothing but a blur now. You spend so much time saying you’re doing…whatever, around the Silvers, but I think you’re just cowering behind us. You’re not, forgive me, much use to us? Are you.”

Going for the kill, Connor stopped beside her. His voice nothing but calm, as if he was a counsellor talking to a patient saying all the negativity he could with a thin aura of understanding in each word, but also an air of arrogance.

”I know nobody really likes you, and nobody trusts you, that’s all been said to me,” he then reached out and took her bicep again in a sharp grasp.

”So what the hell is keeping you here, because nobody wants you,” he hissed.
