  • Classification: Overcharged blaster pistol
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: blaster power cells
  • Ammunition Capacity:Average
  • Effective Range: Long Range - long range for a pistol, but the accuracy drops off quite quickly after a few dozen metres due to the pistol sized barrel
  • Rate of Fire: Average - functionally lower due to recoil issues
  • Damage Output: Extreme
  • Recoil: Very High
*note - this weapon is intentionally underbalanced

  • Fires a unstable heavy blaster round, unstable due to both the unrefined design and deliberate excessive calibration of power flow
  • Blaster bolt larger than normal as the ball of energy particles struggles to maintain its integrity
  • Large muzzle flare from excess energy release
  • Projectiles have a magenta hue to them during flight
  • Projectiles hit with equivalent power of a heavy blaster round but with an explosive component which can cause a problem to those reliant on deflecting the bolt as it will explode on contact instead of deflecting.
  • Tends to smoke from the barrel after firing, this is ionised gas as opposed to smoke from burning.

  • Extreme damage output - Like most heavy blasters the bolts hit like a truck, and this, combined with the explosive nature of the bolts make it more akin to being hit by a shotgun
  • Explosive Rounds - due to the explosive effect, the bolts can't be deflected in the same way as a normal blaster as a deflection attempt will detonate the bolt, potentially still injuring the defender.
  • Simple Design - The gun was built from spare parts in a garage and lacks all the high end tech that is crammed in to so many modern guns. This makes it easy to maintain and repair and very easy to adjust to alternative shaped power cells by pulling out the bare live wires and attaching them to alternative power sources. NB. This is about as safe as it sounds

  • Kicks like a mule - You put that amount of energy out the front, then physics demand an equal and opposite reaction.
  • 'Subtle' - With its large glowing pink projecticles, its excessive muzzle flash and lack of noise supression, this weapon is about as subtle as its designer. Probably not suitable for stealth mission.
  • Drop in accuracy - compared to most pistols, this does have a good range at which it can cause significant damage, but because of the shape and size of the barrel, the accuracy drops off after a few dozen metres so it is tricky to hit anything small or fast moving beyond that distance.

While staying with a friend on Kestri, Hex had time to tinker and play around to make herself a new custom gun. After a few attempts and much careful refinement (read - finding the point at which the gun only almost explodes when it fires) Hex was happy with her finished product.

It fires a large blaster projectiles that destabilise due to the energy imparted into them and swell to around 30mm on diameter and glows in both the high infrared and low ultraviolet wavelengths, giving it a magenta hue. If it hits, and this is sometimes a big question, it hits like a more like a shotgun than a handgun. It can fire about the same speed as a normal blaster pistol, but the recoil limits how quickly you can realistically fire it in practice and expect all your shots on target.
