Volpe is a former member of the Knights Obsidian with a criminal past. As part of an organisation tasked with enforcing the law across Confederate space, she used her particular skill set to investigate serious crime. Whilst psychometry is rarely considered evidence, she uses this to often find the perpetrators of serious crime.
She can enhance her physical abilities with the Force and prefers to fight with a Force-imbued blade. However, carrying a large sword around in her day to day duties is frowned upon and therefore she also uses a lightsaber.
Whilst she can read minds and has the typical precognition of a jedi, she has almost no ability to affect the world around her. Her telekentic skills are particularly limited despite being one of the most basic skills of most Force users.
Callista now works for Argus Insurance Inc. The insurance company works closely with large corporations to insure their assets. The company hires a plethora of former investigators, intelligence operatives and bounty hunters. If the spreadsheets suggest its cheaper to recover assets by force rather than pay out, then they will deploy their secretive recovery arm.

BIOGRAPHY:
Callista did not take a typical route into becoming a member of the Knights Obsidian, enforcer of the law and an investigator.
She ran with gangs from a young age, becoming a low level enforcer. No serious crimes were ever pinned on her, but she ended up in a cell. One of the leftovers from Eriadu's proud imperial military culture was enrollment. She was given very little choice in joining a rehabilitation programme that saw her joinin front line infantry.
Callista had to serve out a full six year period, moving from infantry to end up in a black ops team that was basically a hit squad before being allowed to leave her contract with a clean slate.
A clean slate wasn't worth much. It certainly didn't pay for food and bills. An old contact, concerned she would end up taking her new skills to the underworld, put her in touch ex-services members in Eriadu law enforcement.
She spent five years as an officer, eventually becoming an investigator of cases involving crime syndicates. With no family members and her past she wasn't easily intimidated or drawn into corruption. She worked with a rather bizarre droid, equipped for both forensic scanning and firepower support, called Kaydee (KD-935).
She received a sudden shock one day when touching a murder weapon sent her into a string of vivid visions that knocked her from her feet. It was the first manifestation of her psychometry and she was sent to Roon for training.
