Kyrie lowered her hand, but held onto the connection for a few moments longer before letting it fade naturally. She nodded thoughtfully. “That part I understand.” Practice. Repetition. Building something until it became instinct.

Her gaze followed Matsu drifting through the room. “So it's like training a muscle,” she said. “The more often I reach for it, the easier it becomes.”

A small pause. The mention of maintaining the Force while sleeping drew a slight raise of her eyebrows. “I'm not sure if that sounds impressive or exhausting.” Kyrie rubbed the back of her neck and let out a quiet breath. “Though being able to sense danger all the time would be useful.”

Her expression turned thoughtful. “Being ready to help someone before they ask... that's a little different from how I usually think about it.” She nodded once more. “I can see why it would be both a benefit and a burden.”

"It can be both, maintaining it becomes easier and in time it is second nature. One of the biggest things padawans are and should be taught is how to draw the force from the world around them not just themselves. It is limited by the body rather then their ability to connect." She said it while moving her hands though to show shimmers. "The force is all around us and on worlds strong with the force, with life it is easier to draw it in." She said it while standing behind the girl though when she brought the force around. "If you can see it, if you can touch it the connection can sometimes be easier and if you are able to fo it then you will also be able to feel danger from potentially places close to you."

Kyrie listened, turning the idea over in her mind as she slowly rose from her seated position. “So instead of drawing only from myself, I'm learning to connect to what's already there,” she said, glancing at the shimmering distortions Matsu created.

She extended a hand slightly, feeling for the connection again rather than forcing it. “That sounds... safer than burning through my own energy.” A small pause followed. Her expression sharpened with interest at the mention of sensing nearby danger.

“That might explain some things.” Kyrie lowered her hand and looked back toward Matsu. “I've had moments where I knew something was wrong before there was any evidence.”

She nodded slightly. “If that's connected to the same thing, I'd like to get better at it.” A faint smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. “Preferably before it starts warning me about conversations instead of ambushes.”

"Yes and you would be surprised at how often being warned about conversations has helped me in case I upset my wife.... It is easier to hide around the temple when you know she is coming." She said it with a look but was not saying if she was joking or serious. SHe moved her hands more and more to show the force so that she could reach out and touch it. With a look where she was going for now... her attention pushed towards the girl with one hand to allow her to feel the force itself. "BUt you are getting it with the idea." Her smile only got wider. "Now rise up and try to move around as you connect with the force, as you use it. SLowly add more to what you are doing."

Kyrie snorted softly. “I still can't tell when you're joking.” The observation was delivered with a faint shake of her head. She reached for the connection again as instructed, maintaining it while slowly taking a few steps across the room. At first her concentration wavered, but she caught it and steadied herself.

“Moving and holding it at the same time is harder.” A few more careful steps followed. She focused on keeping the sensation present rather than stopping to rebuild it every time her attention shifted. “But not impossible.”

Kyrie extended a hand briefly, feeling the Force flow through the motion before letting it settle again. Her expression brightened slightly as she found the rhythm. “I think I see what you mean.” Another step.

“Add one thing at a time until it becomes normal.” She nodded to herself. “That sounds a lot more manageable than trying to do everything at once.”

"I always joke." She said it while looking at her and there was a look on her face though. "For legal reasons I must inform that that is a joke." She said it with a smile on her face when she was looking it there. She motioned though while gliding around. "But you do get the idea, one, then two and then eventually it will become something you have in the background... then you can move around like me maybe." SHe was moving with it and keeping pace with the woman as she gave her the chance to practice her movement but also her meditation.

Kyrie let out a quiet laugh, the sound escaping before she could stop it. “I'll need a lesson just to figure out when you're being serious.”

She continued walking, keeping the connection to the Force present while matching her breathing to her pace. Once or twice she felt it slip, only to settle back into it without stopping.

“That part's getting easier,” she observed. Her eyes followed Matsu gliding effortlessly through the room. “I think I'll stick to walking before I try floating.”

A faint smile lingered. “One thing. Then two.” She nodded to herself, repeating the lesson as much for memory as understanding. “I can do that.”

"I am serious when it is needed but most of the galaxy wants to be dark, many of the jedi I meet are drowning in their own morose." She said it but the girl was getting it now while they would be able to learn more of it. Matsu was moving as she allowed the force to guide her but she was making it so that Kyrie would be able to follow her through the temple and they could take it slowly. "You are getting it. Now take your time and one foot in front of the other, one moment into the next as your senses expand and contrraact."

Kyrie smiled faintly and shook her head. “I had my doubts for about five seconds,” she admitted. “But I don't think someone becomes a Grandmaster without knowing when to be serious.”

She continued after Matsu at an unhurried pace, focusing on the rhythm of her steps instead of hurrying to keep up. One foot. Then the next. She held onto the connection, letting it widen with each breath before drawing it back in again.

“I can feel the difference,” she said quietly. “Expanding... then narrowing.” Another careful step. “It doesn't feel forced anymore.” Kyrie glanced up toward Matsu. “I think I'm starting to understand why you wanted me to slow down.”

She would be surprised if she knew how many grandmasters were purely serious in most cases. It was the ones who had a sense of humor that provided them with new avenues for exploration and development within the force itself. Kyrie though didn't need to hear about that as she was learning it here and Matsu moved. "Yes, keep at it and there is no rush it is just the two of us for now. You want to be able to pace yourself and learn how it is best for you." She moved a little more in the air though as she rose up higher. "My daughters learn much the same way through methods like this though I also have the bribe them with cookie's."

Kyrie looked up as Matsu drifted higher, the movement earning a small, amused shake of her head. “I'll leave the floating to you... for now.” She kept her pace steady, holding the connection to the Force without trying to rush ahead. Each step felt a little more natural than the last.

“I appreciate there not being a timer,” she said. “I usually learn by doing something until it works.”

The mention of cookies drew the corner of her mouth into a smile. “So that's your real teaching technique.” She glanced back toward Matsu. “I have to admit... cookies sound like effective motivation.”

A brief pause. “…Though I think I'll settle for getting this right first.”

"THey always are." She gave it a wider grin and held a hand as one was forming from the matter and energies. Making a chocolate chip one with the chocolate melted and gooey. Matsu was holding it and she moved slowly while floating and she held it up for Kyrie to come and get as she was manipulating the air for the scent of it. Allowing it to smell fresh and amazing. She was making a second one as she took a bite of it. "Hmm delicious, just the right amount of melted and solid so it melts on your tongue and coats the inside of your mouth in sweetness."

Kyrie stopped mid-step, her attention immediately locking onto the cookie. "...That's unfair." She narrowed her eyes at Matsu, though the smell alone was making her resolve crumble. "You weaponized baking...Without even baking!"

A determined look settled over her face. Without another word, Kyrie reached for the familiar current of the Force, keeping her breathing even as she'd been taught. Instead of pushing outward, she focused inward and then beneath herself. She bent her knees ever so slightly.

"Come on..." For the briefest moment, her boots grew lighter against the floor. A fraction. Then they settled again. Kyrie frowned.

"Almost." She tried again, reaching for the connection instead of forcing it. Her heels lifted this time—just enough to convince her it had happened—before gravity reclaimed them. A laugh escaped her despite herself. "I almost had it."

She looked back up at Matsu, then at the cookie. "...I'm beginning to understand why your daughters fall for this." Kyrie extended an expectant hand with a grin. "So... do near misses earn partial credit?"
