Classification: Charric pistol
Size: Handheld
Length: 22cm
Weight: 400g
Ammunition Type: Charric bolts
Ammunition Capacity: 15

Effective Range: Optimum range: 50m
Rate of Fire: Semi-automatic
Special Features:

  • Invisible and silent charric bolt thus kinetic energy behind it
  • Stun setting/Switchable
  • EMP/Ion resistance
Strengths:
  • Invisible and silent bolt: Utilizing refined tibanna mixture and a sound suppressor, the C-51 can easily be compared to the DC-19 Stealth carbine of ages old and the stealthiness of the verpine shatter pistol.
  • Charric technology: Rather than developing a blaster, the engineers at the First Order have used the advanced technology of the Chiss - the charric. Hence, the bolts do arrive at their target with a high kinetic energy behind them making the pistol dangerous not only to non-armored foes.
  • EMP/Ion resistance: The C-51 is insulated against EMP and Ion attacks making it not immune but with a higher degree of resistance against such assault.
Weaknesses:

  • Low ammo: In both charric and blaster technology, the resemblance and hence their mass production is based on the fact that their magazines load up to 300-500 shots usually. This pistol does not due to its invisible bolt technology.
  • Poor range: The C-51 is certainly no battlefield weapon. It is designed for intelligence operatives who would, more or less, be in more confined and close quarter spaces. The poor range makes it an unreliable weapon in rather open spaces.

Description:

In recent times, the First Order has seen a lot of immigration from Chiss space. One such Chiss has climbed the ranks of the First Order Security Bureau and with that the R&D at the FOSB has gained valuable information from a different and advanced culture. The charric technology is one of the benefits of Chiss immigration to First Order space.

The C-51 is solely designed for intelligence operatives. Everything about it screams that. Light, short and easily concealable, invisible and silent bolts. It, of course, comes with its drawbacks. The utilization of invisible bolt technology comes with the price of demolishing the great advantage of blasters and charrics - the huge amount of ammo. Also, the range is quite poor.

Moreover, the use of the charric technology is highly appreciated with the rise of heavily armored troopers and lightsaber wielding foes as the kinetic energy behind the bolts would be more beneficial than what a standard blaster can offer.

How is that worked into the materials? Shouldn't the pistol be heavier because of it?

Add the kinetic effect into the special features.

As this appears to be wanting to use the stunning effects of charric technology rather than the lethal kind, I'm going to ask that you drop the optimum range from 50m to 30m, and the maximum range from 100m to 80m. This is smaller than the charric that is shown in the wookieepedia images. The charric handgun described here, had an effective range of 8m.

Tag me when you're finished.

I should've been clearer - it can be switched between the lethal and stun setting. I can drop the stun setting range to 8-10m but I am reluctant to dropping any more range in its normal setting considering its reduced ammo.

The polarizing field insulation would be a tiny generator in the gun itself.
