PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Bacta-Works of Epica
  • Affiliation: Bacta-Works of Epica
  • Market Status: N/A
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: Yes (Can be used in nearly any type of starship, city or energy weapon type)
  • Production: Mass Produced
  • Material: Bacta, fission reactor parts, fuel conversion electronics and parts
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Reactor that functions like a Hypermatter Annihilation Reactor, but instead of using Hypermatter it uses Bacta
  • Slightly greater fuel efficiency over normal hypermatter
  • Can function as the power plants to starships, vehicles, weapons, and cities
  • Hyper modern safety design
  • No radioactive byproducts
  • All reactors are typically half the size of many of their competitors
STRENGTHS
  • She needs premium, Dude! Premium!: Combining the technology of a Proton-8 Reactor, Microfusion Reactor, Power Converters, Fuel Converters, These power sources convert Bacta to usable starship fuel and hypercondense it to an energetic state before annihilating it like normal hypermatter, this technology can be adapted in multiple of ways, from colony power cores, to the power plants of starfighters, Destroyers, Battleships, Space Stations. If scaled for weapons the technology is converted to a type of Blaster Power Pack still taking elements of the above mentioned technology to hyper pressurize the Bacta to a condensed gas state and run an electric charge through it to produce energy like you would with Tibanna gas
  • OSHA Compliance: Every safety feature imaginable has been incorporated in large and small scale to avoid accidents such as accidental discharge, power overflow, and explosion. This is greatly added by the fact the tech produces no toxic or radioactive byproducts due to its fuel source. It is also slightly more efficient in comparison to regular Hypermatter Reactors, in that it uses fifteen percent less fuel on a trip than regular Hypermatter and starship power plants using this tech are typically half the size of their competitors.
  • No rads required: There are no toxic or radioactive byproducts
  • Modular: Can be retroadapted to any canon vessel/weapon (Requires new sub for item being fitted with device)
WEAKNESSES
  • Extra maintainence: Hypercondensing Bacta and heating it to the point it becomes plasma may not leave toxic byproducts, but what byproducts are created can accumulate quickly on vital parts in reactors and weapons that use it, leading to slightly more maintenance than normal
  • Fission reaction problems: As a starship powerplant, the power balancing and distribution need to be carefully monitored just like in fission based reactors to prevent malfunctioning and instability. It takes time to carefully condense and heat the Bacta without it exploding, so it can take a while for reactors to build up power in drydock and on colonies if they have to be shut down for a while
  • Double requirements for lethality: Yes, the Bacta Gas can be used in place of Tibanna, however, the amount of gas needed to make a Bacta gas blaster bolt lethal is twice what's required of Tibanna. If firing the same amount of gas that an average Tibanna based bolt uses, the damage is always stun damage. Typically less range, and much more difficult to retro adapt to weapons than starships, often necessitating entirely new weapons designs
DESCRIPTION

Bacta-Works BactaSource Power Plants are a way of maximizing profit on an already profitable resource. Capable of being scaled in size to power a space station or something as small as a holdout blaster, the tech is made to specifically convert Bacta into a usable fuel source as efficiently as can possibly be managed with the company's current level of technology, the drawback of course being the buyer may have to be even more strategic than normal with Bacta, as the tech makes the fluid effectively a multipurpose resource...do they want to use it to heal, keep the lights on, or shoot? The solution of course, is to buy more Bacta to offset all these wonderful new options for it...

Tibanna is generally fairly cheap and mined over many worlds... bacta can be most costly and risk shortage.... this is bizarre but not out of the realm of star wars. Just can't see many wanting to do this conversion and break their bank.

Still approved
