Waiting Room of the Office of Chancellor
1345 Hours (15 Minutes After Scheduled Appointment)

Noah sighed and shot his gaze upward towards the ceiling and sighed, sinking further down in the chair he was in. It had been a couple weeks since the Chancellor's inauguration and now here he was in aforementioned's waiting room doing exactly what the room was designed for...waiting. Waiting a whole fifteen minutes after his scheduled appointment, a fact that he wouldn't mention but was silently stewing over.

Since the inauguration he had secured a few contracts in the Galactic Alliance sphere of influence. A few private security details for Senators, some peacekeeping missions on worlds and a couple security jobs at governments facilities, rather small time in Noah's opinion. It was for that very reason that he had used a few of his connections to finagle a meeting with the Chancellor in the hopes of securing a few more lucrative contracts.

Noah was dressed rather casual in a light blue button-up, a pair of dark brown slacks and a pair of light brown loafers. He wore a couple of accessories as well, a chain around his neck that obviously led to a pair of dog tags but two rings as well and a new and cheap wrist watch, oddly worn upside down. He was of course unarmed, having had to check all his weapons with security when he entered the building.

Reaching into his shirt pocket he withdrew a pack of what appeared to be cigarettes, upon asking Noah would correct them and tell them they were 'filtered cigars', and a old battered lighter with a military insignia on it. Popping one of the filtered cigars into his mouth he was about to light it before looking up to see the receptionist give him a disapproving look. Sighing he put the cigar back into the back and placed it and the light back into his shirt pocket, sinking even further into the chair.

The door to the Chancellor's office opened briskly and a group of politicians, muttering amongst themselves exited the room in a huddled mass. The finely dressed mix of species was being ushered from the room by a small rodian woman in a smart gold robe. Behind them, Adhira Chandra herself dressed in a floor-length black robe with golden trim sauntered into the reception hall to watch them leave. Her dark eyes followed the group until they were just beyond her line of sight and then they snapped over to the one individual remaining. She only vaguely remembered having another meeting that day, but if the smartly dressed gentleman had made it all the way to her office she assumed it must be on the calendar.

"Ah- Forgive me, I hope I did not keep you waiting long," her words were deliberate and crisp as she took a few steps toward him, "my last meeting ran a little longer than expected. Once you get the InterGalactic Banking Clan talking about standardized credits you can hardly get them to shut up." Adhira smiled brightly like this was a situation many people found themselves in. Her eyes drifted over the edge of the reception desk in the middle of the room and found the screen her aid used to keep track of her appointments.

"Mr. Corek, I presume?" She said after finding the name in the time slot beneath IGBC. "Please, do come in." The Chancellor turned and swept off back to the inner sanctum of her office. Instead of walking to the dais where her official desk was housed, she crossed the room to a dark metallic outcropping of the wall where several crystal bottles with golden liquid were twinkling in the light. She busied herself with pouring a drink, not bothering to wait to see if her guest had followed. "So, what is it we can do for you, Mr. Corek?"

The lithe dusky woman turned to face her guest, a freshly poured glass of dark alcohol resting in her right hand. She had clearly already taken a drink by the faint imprint of dark-colored lipstick on the rim.

Noah's head snapped up when he heard the door to the Chancellor's office opened, his eyes fixing on the group that exited from his office. He assessed each one of them and noting their species in his minds, listing off ways they could be a threat and how to eliminate that threat. He cracked his neck in order to stop that line of thought, a automatic reflex he hard developed from a time long in his past. Stand he gave the Chancellor a small smile and dismissive wave at her words.

"No need to apologize your excellency. I've had a few dealings with the IGBC in my travels so I know how...tight-fisted yet talkative they can be." Even at almost sixty years of age Noah's eyesight was sharp, as was the Chancellor's, reading a screen backwards and from that distance was no small feat.

Giving the woman a small bow he followed behind her and into her office and towards what he assumed, correctly, was some sort of wet bar. Letting out a small chuckle he reached into his shirt pocket and withdrew his pack of filtered cigars and lighter and waved them.
"Do you mind? I assume since you indulging in a vice you wouldn't...I would've done it in your waiting room but you assistant looked like they were going to kill me if I did."

Popping one into his mouth he waited on her word to light it but spoke to her question. "Well I run a pair of organizations, Hekler'Kok Defense Industries and the Galactic Foreign Legion. The first is a weapons manufacturing company, everything from small arms to starships. The second is a private military corporation. Both are rather small scale compared to some of the bigger competitors we have but we believe in quality over quantity...though expansion is always preferable. And what better form of expansion than a galactic government contract?"
