OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: All will fear my giant gun
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Primary Source: TF2 Wiki
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Outer Rim Military Engineering
  • Affiliation: ORME, AiE, SJO, private buyers
  • Model: "Bull" minigun
  • Modularity: Clips can be added to the minigun to supply additional ammo, with an absolute extreme of two thousand additional charges (2,600 total maximum) before the drum is strained excessively. Additionally, the gun can be mounted to a vehicle with significantly less recoil, but can only consume ammo from its own drum and additional clips, (no unlimited ammo death machines) and cooldown is still a factor.

  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Brass drum & barrel mount, titanium barrels & clip, leather-padded brass handle
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Minigun
  • Size: Extreme
  • Weight: Extreme
  • Ammunition Type: Energy charges
  • Ammunition Capacity: 600 in the drum, external magazines can be added to increase capacity

  • Reload Speed: Very Slow
  • Effective Range: Average
  • Rate of Fire: Very High
  • Stopping Power: Very High
  • Recoil: Very High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Coolants - The primarily brass structure of the Bull Minigun serves a purpose far different than simple decoration. Brass conducts heat and electricity well, assisting with a coolant system that attempts to handle and modify the extreme heat produced by the firing of the Bull Minigun. Inside the outer layer of brass is a hollow, air-cooled space that heat is vented into, assisting in cooling down the giant gun.
Strengths:
  • Lawnmower - The Bull Minigun can dispatch even the largest groups of infantry with ease, entire legions being able to fall to a well-trained veteran's gun. A massive ammo capacity and relentless fire rate ensure that not a second goes by without hell being rained apon enemies.
  • Every Shot Counts - Unlike more common small-caliber miniguns, the Bull Minigun uses a heavier caliber of charges in larger bullets. This allows each bullet from the Bull Minigun to deal as much damage as a low-powered assault rifle, increasing the weapon's devastation in combat.
  • Never Stop Firing - With an extended clip attached to the Bull Minigun's drum, it can carry hundreds more charges, with ammunition capacity potentially only limited by how much weight an organic or droid can pick up and where the gun is positioned.
Weaknesses:
  • Benchpress - The Bull Minigun weighs upwards of twenty kilograms, with the potential to double or even triple its weight with an additional magazine added. Therefore, only specially trained humans and near-humans, and fully grown members of larger species, can use the gun to its full extent.
  • Burning Bullets - As a result of the immense amount of energy produced by the Bull Minigun, overheating is a very common issue that can occur after under ten seconds of sustained fire at time. The cooldown process takes another five seconds, hindering the extended use of the minigun in the front lines.
  • Unsteady - The Bull Minigun has an incredibly high recoil and sway, capable of easily knocking over a soldier not used to heavy weaponry. The only suppression methods are firing the minigun in short bursts, placing it on a flat surface, or using it as a turret attached to a mount.
  • Not A Sniper Rifle! - If miniguns are the most inaccurate of all firearms, then the Bull Minigun is the most inaccurate of all miniguns. Even on a well-secured turret with no recoil, the Bull Minigun's charges have a practically nonexistent single-bullet accuracy, instead relying on its swarm of fire to cover all open spaces. Additionally, the Bull Minigun's range is comparable to that of a carbine, with even its high-caliber rounds only providing a slight counter to the extreme damage falloff at extended ranges.
DESCRIPTION

As Outer Rim Military Engineering grew bolder, so did the ideas behind its projects. One of such would be to make a minigun so powerful that just the sight of it would invoke terror deep within the hearts of enemies to peace. At the same time, this gun would be typically handheld, despite its huge size.

So the "Bull" Minigun was created. Its massive body holds nine barrels, each packing the power equivalent to a typical burst assault rifle. Their combined fire rate wastes a horrendous 450 rounds a minute, or an average of seven barrels firing per second, tearing through the basic drum in under two minutes. So much energy is produced by sustained fire that Outer Rim engineers made the entire exterior of the gun out of brass, to conduct the electricity and heat out of the gun or into coolant systems.

The resulting product was so heavy that it could outweigh a human teenager, or even a young adult, and without an additional ammunition clip. The barrels alone were approximately one and a half meters long, and as wide as the chest of most adult humans. As a result, it was highly advised that only specially trained heavy infantry units and large nonhuman species use the gun in sustained combat unless the miniguns were turret-mounted.

Additionally, the gun's recoil was higher than that of even RPGs and heavy snipers, severely limiting its accuracy. To even further complicate things, the minigun only had a moderate range, discouraging a long-range support role. A high overheating vulnerability prevents long-term sustained fire, with a five second cooldown necessary for about every ten seconds of nonstop fire.

However, the gun did have its advantages. Aside from its fire rate, it also used a higher-caliber charge than that of most other miniguns, allowing an increased damage output. Additionally, the increased penetration allows the minigun to serve an anti-armor role. While its ammunition drains quickly, adding additional clips can easily double, triple, or even come close to quadruping the ammunition of the gun.

Good morning,

I'm going to need this weapon’s external magazines be added to Modularity and what is the maximum capacity if these magazines are used? Is it just tripple the set capacity?

The theoretical maximum capacity is ten thousand additional charges, though at that point it would require a ripped Wookie to carry. However, the added ammunition can be anywhere ten thousand or less. Added to Modularity.

So, I may be misunderstanding. However as it seems this weapon can fire 10,000 rounds continuously? Taking into account that it can overheat of course. However for a potentially portable weapon like this I'm going to need you to significantly lower the total ammo capacity.

Production: Limited

I'd probably bump up production to minor here. Technically, limited is supposed to be for small groups within a larger group (like a specific unit within the Silver Jedi), rather than for multiple factions.

Stopping Power: Extreme

This allows each bullet from the Bull Minigun to deal as much damage as a low-powered assault rifle
These two don't really seem to match to me. I probably wouldn't think that a low-powered assault rifle bullet would have an extreme stopping power. But I think that a bunch of low-powered bullets would have a very high damage over time simple because of the "Very High" firing rate, if that makes sense.
