- Offensive Ability: The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser comes equipped with weapons on its hull; allowing the owner of this vessel the chance to go up against superior foes with just the average weaponry on board. Although not able to stand up to heavy patrol cruisers and professional military vessels. The Armed Cruiser is more than able to stand up to the bulk-cruisers and local sector defense forces that try to stop this vessel.
- Modification Overload: The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser was designed to allow extensive modification to the overall stock variant. Allowing the owner of this vessel the chance to upgrade the weaponries on the ship without worrying about upgrading the central systems of the vessel itself. Much of the interior and exterior can be changed to suit the individual needs of each crew on board of the vessel.
- Atmosphere Landing: The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser was designed to enter into a planet's atmosphere and operate with the same efficiency as if it was in space. This allows the vessel to act as a heavy landing craft for the deployment of troops without worrying about attacks by skyfighters or atmospheric star fighters that might attempt to stop the landing of troops from the cruiser itself. Making it extremely useful as a dual purpose vessel that any faction or person can use to its full advantage on the battlefield.
- Defensive Ability: The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser has an advantage on the offensive; but defensive wise the armed cruiser wasn't designed up to a military grade standard on its defensive capabilities. Although the cruiser does come with shields; the particular model of shield installed on the vessel during production wasn't designed to absorb a large amount of damage and the shield will go down when enough damage is taken over a short period of time.
- No Match: The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser does have some advantages but it wasn't designed for frontline combat against a professional military fleet; so the cruiser lacks the armaments and shielding to stand up to heavy patrol cruisers and professional military grade ships that can enemy might bring against it. While the vessel wouldn't totally be destroyed by the heavy firepower of these types of vessels; it would be knocked out of a fight pretty quickly leaving the crew on board with the risk of being captured.
The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser was designed by Paranoda Mancheron Boggurobb using the Oggurobb-Class Enforcement Barge and the Bootana-Class Enforcement Cruiser as his starting point before adding in elements of the current line of warships used by pirates of the modern era. Using aspects from both of these vessels allowed for a unique combination of hutt engineering and pirate engineering as the end result once the design was submitted for production. The First Prototype was developed by Paranoda Mancheron Boggurobb using the Ancient Skytrooper Factory on Darvannis left over from the Era of the Eternal Empire of Zakuul. Knowing to himself that an armed vessel would need a new name in order to be pushed into production without drawing too much suspicion towards himself and his kajidic who would begin to export them if approved by the Hutt Families. The new title of the vessel would be an "Armed Transport Vessel" as that would allow anyone to own this starship without having to worry about overbearing regulations by the galactic powers on having a military type ship under a person's control.
The Vessel's First Model was approved by the Hutt Families and pressed into production due in part to the advantages that this model had over some of the other cruisers currently in galactic service among the various factions of the galaxy. The Buccaneer-Class Armed Cruiser has some serious benefits to be considered; first and foremost was its offensive capabilities were above average compared to other similar cruisers used by the galactic elite; allowing the vessel the ability to stand up to bulk-cruisers and local sector defense forces that might try to stop the vessel for questioning. The downside to this advantage is that the cruiser is no match for the heavier patrol cruisers and professional military grade ships that factions have under there control; making the crew of the vessel think twice about engaging with one of these types. An advantage over other types of cruisers is that the vessel was designed to be modified to suit the clients and factions that would purchase the vessel; allowing them the chance to modify the vessel to suit their individual needs and what they might need the vessel for. The downside to this advantage is that the frame itself can't be changed as the design itself will not allow any such modification to that part. Another major disadvantage is that the overall defensive capabilities weren't designed on a military grade scale; making the vessel not have a good quality shield generator that can defend the vessel from laser cannons and projectile weaponry. The shield itself can hold for a decent amount of time; but the shield can be taken down with enough firepower over a short period of time.
The last advantage of the vessel class is that the armed cruiser is able to enter into atmosphere and operate with the same efficiency as if the vessel itself was still in orbit; allowing the owner of this vessel the chance to use the cruiser as an armed landing craft that can deploy troops to the surface and defend them from sky fighters and other atmospheric starfighters that attempt to destroy the troops that have been deployed before they can enter into the battlefield. The Armed Cruiser also comes with an average amount of starfighters than can fit inside of its hanger; allowing it to be used as an ambush vessel against other types of cruisers that might attempt to engage with it on the battlefield. With the starfighter support and the overall benefits of the vessel; many of these armed cruisers are being sold to pirates and marauders for their use in attacking cargo vessels that the galactic factions use for trade, as the profile of the vessel itself helps it blend in with other types of starships and avoid drawing suspicion until it is too late.
