GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Quilxyn Protector
  • Affiliation: The Bryn'adûl
  • Classification: Defender
  • Description: Quilxyn Protectors are essentially more versatile, mobile and common variants of the Quilxyn, these Quilxyn are typically small orbs that fly around the battlefield, they typically stay in cover or fly low and away from direct combat.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Large
  • Unit Availability: Common
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment: N/A
  • Combat Function: The combat function of Quilxyn Protectors is to deliver protection to the infantry of the Bryn'adûl. A single Protector can shield up to forty individuals, however the bigger the creature the more energy is required to shield them. The special thing about Protectors is that they specialised in diversity, providing shields specific to the race.
Heat Shield -
For Baedurin the Quilxyn creates a synthetic molecular shielding that encases them in a shielding that superheats the area within the shield to protect the Baedurin against their elemental weakness of the cold. The shielding is also designed to defend against pathogens, toxins, poisonous vapours and bio-weapons.
Frost Shield -
For the Aeravalin the Quilxyn creates a synthetic molecular shielding that encases them in a shielding that freezes the area within the shield to protect the Baedurin against their elemental weakness of the heat. The shielding is also designed to defend against pathogens, toxins, poisonous vapours and bio-weapons.
Standard Shield -
The Standard Shield is essentially what it says on the box, and is typically provided to infantry such as savage and normal drones and other various beasts. It adds defence against pathogens, toxins, poisonous vapours and bio-weapons.
Strengths:
  • Elemental Protection: The primary focus of the Quilxyn Protector is to defend against the particular weaknesses of the various Bryn'adûl forces.
  • Molecular protection: The shielding created by the Quilxyn is also focused on defence against essentially things that cannot be fought by direct means, and thusly is intended for bio-weapons, pathogens and all forms of airborne/passive types of offence.
  • Crafty: The Quilxyn Protectors are cunning, flying little creatures that will do their utmost to stay out of harms way whilst maintain protection for their owners.
  • Fast: They fly fast, hard to catch.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Disruption: As this is a living creature, its functionality can be disrupted by the force.
  • Not so sturdy: These Quilxyn do not have a great deal of fortitude, and can be taken down with a few blaster shots.
  • Spread Thin: The more an individual Quilxyn tries to protect and exceed its standard amount of forty individuals, the more strained and weakened the Quilxyn and its defences become.
  • Draining: The task of creating these shields is a strain. Quilxyn can only operate with great functionality for a few hours.
  • Stay Close: The Quilxyn Protectors typically have to remain with a hundred metre radius of those it intends to shield.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
These smaller more agile Quilxyn are derived from their larger cousins and where designed by Aeravalin mutation experts in response to the increasing use of cryoban weaponry against the Bryn'adûl forces. Regardless of the little effect cryoban weaponry had on Sraelvun and Aeravalin, the Barricas of the Bryn'adûl believed it a good measure to implement ways to defend themselves as their biology became more known throughout the Galaxy.
