The Proto-Crell [Part One]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make the SW universe more interesting, and to expand the ways in which technology. This is a form of organic technology. These creatures provide specific variable abilities, but also weaknesses unique to this type of organic technology. But to be clear, the use of this organic technology is not meant to replace technology but only act as a supplement. This submission details the non-sentient variants of the Crellderath.
  • Average Length of Adults: 5cm - 50cm - 500cm/5m
  • Skin colour: Black, White, Silver, Brown
  • Hair colour: N/A
  • Distinctions: These creatures are a massively adaptive species that were genetically engineered by the Bryn'adûl as a way of honouring the power of the organic, as a way of supplementing the damage of their limited technological resources with a naturally produced organic technology. The Crellderath are a form of organic molecular technology that uses programmable organic tissue to act as a form of on the field repair and enhancement for equipment. This process is capable through using organic tissue programmable by a self-learning organic brain/computer that acts in ways similar to a routine program, acting on a directive to repair and supplement any equipment it is programmed to recreate.
    The Proto-Crell themselves are distinctly more smaller and simple by comparison to their older and larger brethren. Smaller in size, capability and individuality. The Incre’sa in particular appear to have more formulated appearances, imitating to the best of their ability the design in which they are bonded with.
    But as with later variants the Kada’su have more smooth features, similar to that of like muscle tone rather than a poorly defined blob of life. The Kada’su themselves have a sort of pulsative movement, their bodies appearing very much alive and having a symbiotic appearance that appears physically more complex than the previous iteration.
  • Races:
- Crellderath Incre'sa:The Incre'sa are the smallest and weakest of the Crellderath. These symbiotic ceatures are those that are used to replicate simple programs and instructions, typically these creatures are used with basic weaponry such as small arms fire and personal armour and weaponry.
These symbiote's are only capable of replicating the capabilities of whatever item it is attached to. These Rael are smaller and take longer to adapt to their technological demands. They typically have thick black tar like skin with a soft reddish goo slithering underneath.
-Crellderath Kada'su:
These variants of the Crell that have eaten one of their own, consuming their intelligence and mass to become more capable. These Crell typically take on a more dark brown mixed with their normal black tar like appearance. The Crell can be used to replicate standard electronic machines, basic droids and small vehicles. They can also be applied to things like mines and grenades.
These Crell are strangely more passive than their smaller Incre'sa brethren, and require more prodding and starving to devour one and other and grow in size.
  • Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
Strengths:
  • Strengths:
    + Adaptability: These creatures are referred to as organic technology by the Bryn'adûl, used to replace and repair damage and missing parts of a weapon. However, they cannot survive without the present technology.
    + Strengths: These creatures adopt the strengths and prowess of whatever they bond with, however are limited by said weapons capabilities.
    +Self-Repairing: Over time these creatures can self-repair by drawing on energy/fuel reserves of nearby and available sources.
    +Resource: Dependent on their size, the Crell’s energy vampirism can be used to the advantage of its technology - acting as a natural resource of resupply for a short period of time. However, this will make their energy vampirism more severe for a short peroid of time.
    The Incre'sa -
    + Submissive: These Crell are easy to control, and almost readily applicable and work like a basic computer program; adjusting itself to whatever task is set before it.
The Kada'su -
+ Robocop: These Crell can be used unlike their lower brethren in an autonomous fashion, able to operate without the assistance of a sentient, executing its own actions and able to program and use droids in combat.
+ Adapt: They are durable, able to harden themselves in response to attacks.
Weaknesses:
- Symbiote: The Symbiotic Crell cannot survive without their host technology once bonded with them.
- EMP: A powerful EMP can kill these creatures as they survive off of energy/electricity and therefore can be hurt by electronic or sonic attacks easily.
- Cannot be Sated: As with any creature, as time passes and it grows - so does its appetite. A Crellderath never stops wishing to feed but can stave it off, these creatures endlessly wish to feed on energy and one and other.
-Supervision: Constant supervision of the Crellderath is essential to they themselves becoming a danger to the Bryn’adul. The brain waves, energy consumption and behaviours of all forms of Crellderath are constantly monitored to avoid incident.
The Incre'sa -
- Flammable: The Incre'sa can easily be destroyed by flame.
- Halfway Helpful: The Incre’sa can’t act as a power source for their bonded equipment, if it is too critically damaged - the Crell itself will die slowly following and is made practically inert.
The Kada'su -
- Overload: Whilst more independent they are still in many ways basic programs. However, due to the nature of their use have reactionary capabilities and thus have the ability to be overloaded with information, causing them to shut down. Comparable to going into shock.
- Aging: As with all variants more complex than the base Incre’sa, as they develop the ability to act with autonomy; as they become older and experience new things. Due to the self-learning technology built into their programming, the Kada’su can develop an understand or replication of basic emotions. Similar to how a child would act these creatures can become deterred from combat or simply begin a mutiny if they experience fear.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Cannibalism | Energy/Electricity
  • Communication: During testing revolving leaving the different earliest versions of the symbiotes in closed environments with each-other, the first Behemath developed a basic language specific to the Crell. To the humanoid ear, this can be heard as a series of beeps and inhuman sounds on variations of high and low frequencies. The first Behemas taught the first few generations of the lower Crell this language before it itself was shut down prematurely.
    The Aeravalin scientists studied the language in detail, attempting to replicate it so they could implement the language itself into the base programs of the Incre’sa and Kada’su. However even to this day the best of the Bryn’adul could only manage to implement a simplistic version of this language into the more basic Crell.
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behaviour: The lower in mass and intelligence the Crellderath, the less complicated it is. Their behaviour can be categorised by their level of sentience. The non-sentient Crell are like complex programs, capable of completing tasks and sometimes, especially with matured variants appear to enjoy violence.
    Their behaviour is more easily examined when together.
    However, whilst the distinctions in classification were mostly placed by the Bryn’adul themselves. It seems as though the Crell themselves have embraced these classifications. The Incre’sa, tend to communicate amongst themselves and, exhibit a very primitive state of fear from the larger versions. Something not common in any other Crell generation. The Kada’su have a tendency to remain isolated from one and other, their hunger more intense than their younger brethren. Isolation is more obvious and often necessary in older generations.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
As the Draelvasier became more integrated within the Bryn'adûl, the Seers of the Drael advised Tathra that he use his scientists and knowledge of the galaxy to begin the creation of a new species as he had done once before with the creation of them themselves.
Tathra knew the Bryn'adûl had a tolerance for science, however still even he himself had a distaste for the cold of space, and how disembodied from nature one became in the realms of space. Thus, the project of an organic technology began with the basic attempts to create a species of organic molecular nanotechnology that in of itself would have properties that allowed it to molecularly program itself without constant hardline connection to an offsite program and directive system.
The task undertaken was a huge one. The properties necessary for the Crellderath to operate with efficiency that warranted use in combat were held to a high standard, and thus there were many series of trial and error. The first hurdle to tackle was, granting some form of life to this project. A self-learning lifeform that operated on the nanoscale to integrate with various devices. The first series of projects began with developing a intelligent life that could hopefully, on a molecular level imitate different forms.
They first began with a base selection of chemicals and elements for the Crell molecules to attempt to imitate basic substances and elements of the periodic table first. This in of itself took several months, however once this was achieved - the rest was stepping stones. The second phase of the project was designing a brain within the Crell that itself was flexible, able to understand code and develop like a normal brain, growing and expanding, able to learn and develop and take orders. As this process continued, the Bryn’adul slowly fed the Crell basic designs. From the smallest and simplest of shapes to more complex designs like weaponry.
However, they found that the smaller and basic Crell couldn’t do more than act as a supplement for pre-existing technology.
The first series of tests created a small pool of creatures that were adaptable, however where entirely too small to be of any use outside of small weapons fire. These were the initial creations known as the Incre'sa.
The Incre’sa initially acted as a small blob of life when solitary, barely moving until brought in contact with technology. The creature was first sent the blueprints and basic elements of the technology it is to be merged with. Then, whether it be a rifle or pistol. The key components of the item and introduced and the construction of the weapon is uploaded to the Crell’s programmable brain. The researchers then introduced the Crell to recovered damaged items from the battlefield and their undamaged counterparts. The Crell are programmed as a assistance, diagnosing the problem with the weapon and then using its own internal programming to alter itself on the molecular level to imitate the necessary components whether physical or electrical.
This process in of itself was recorded and hardwired into the following generation so that they know this from the get go. However, designing this lifeform from scratch leaves a lot of unknowns regarding growth and brain development. The cannibalistic nature of of the Crell was something unheard of until the first Behemas reached rapidly reached the Devalkier stage overnight during a standard day cycle analysis of Crell interaction in groups of over a hundred. The Aeravalin researches immediately began controlled tests of smaller groups, soon discovering that the Crell had several stages of polymorphic transformation that became categorised into six total variants.
