~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a beast that essentially replaces the need for an actual tank, Bryn'adûl style.
  • Image Credit: [X]
  • Role: Assault Tank
  • Links:
- The Bryn'adûl
- Draelvasier
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Brumak
  • Affiliation: The Bryn'adûl
  • Classification: Flesh Tank
  • Equipment: N/A
  • Description: Brumaks typically stand at five metres tall, broad and thickly armoured; their skin is like rock - a two foot thick hide of pure armoured rock, making them as tough as any mechanical tank. They have crab like pincers for arms, allowing them to climb and crush small vehicles or buildings with their immense weight and strength. Their spines are lined with a conductive material that interacts with their bestial mind, using the mass energy stored in their bodies to attack enemies with a powerful blast of energy.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Combat Function: These units serve as a flesh-based replacement for mechanical tanks, the Draelvasier have one thing in abundance above all else - flesh. Thus, using their incredibly mutative abilities, they designed the Brumak to substitute for a mechanical Tank. The Brumak charges up its shot using its conductive spines, the longer the charge; the more powerful the blast. The black ball is generated by the energised matter circulating from the flairs extending from the beasts head, and is fired outward at incredible speed - exploding on contact and releasing a chain of energy pulses that superheat armour and vaporise targets.
Strengths:
  • Tough: The Brumaks are as tough as a tank, built to serve the same purpose. Their hide laughs at small arms fire, and cannot be deterred by EMP's and ion attacks. They have large, powerful bodies that allow them to move incredibly fast when sprinting straight forward, ramming through all in their path.
  • Weaponry: The superheat chain of energy pulses can vapourise both flesh and metal, making the Brumak specifically adept at dealing with infantry and land vehicles. With the exception of larger walkers. Especially when Brumaks in groups fire at the same target, the chains energy compound on each other, increasing both their power and range.
Weaknesses:
  • Acid: The Brumaks have a hide similar to that of Bryn'adûl Servitors and Obaliscs, incredibly sturdy but with a weakness for acid. However, due to the sheer thickness of their skin - plenty of potent acid is required.
  • Loud: These creatures are over a hundred tons in weight, their tightly bonded molecular structure and overall impressive form making each step they take a thunderous quake of the earth for kilometres.
  • Off-Balance: Enough focused kinetic energy striking at the joints of their legs will cause them to tumble over, their top-heavy weights doing them discredit where balance is concerned.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Following the introduction of more prominent members of the Bryn'adûl following various avenues of military armament in a supply efficient manner - the understand became that traditional tanks were going to waste being manufactured, and were thusly melted down and used for ships and weaponry. This proposal benefitted from the mutation of Sraelvun Berserkers into large and powerful tanks, thusly named Brumaks.
The most important step is always the next one
Just going off of your description alone this looks like an entirely new species when comparing it to your linked Draelvasier. From them being almost twice as large [and way more durable] than the base species to their Godzilla-esque breath attack the only thing that seems to have stayed the same from their base Sraelvun I want to hold off on logging this for approval until I get a response from you on whether or not you want to continue with the sub as is.
Suggestions
A - You go in to the Draelvasier submission and add these beasties as a sub-species
or B - You create a new species for these beasties.
Well the idea is they are mutants, essentially manipulating certain genes to produce wildly different variants for combative use. I don't see how, their deviance poses an actual issue.
